Fantastic vid, very informative and not intimidating at all, im looking forward to doing my multi IFR and flying one of these one day, I hope to get a great guy that teaches like this
When testing the “Brake De-Ice” watch for a rise in ITT when you select the switch to on and also watch for an ITT decrease when you select the “Brake De-Ice” off. That way you can confirm that the bleed air valve is opening and closing.
Yep ... This is how she did it ... They needed to include the importance of holding the brakes until the second one was started. Would have scored points if she had started #2 first. ... and people say today's youth have no ambition.
Sal, some generators have a load limitation that determines how they can be used to assist a start. In the King Air, the initial load of the starter engaging shouldn't be placed on the generator, but after the starter has been engaged, the generator can be turned on to assist with the remainder of the start. In some turbine aircraft, the generators can be used to assist the entire start, whereas in others, the generators cannot be used at all to assist a start.
Sal L The reason is that you can blow a current limiter (big fuse) from the big initial hit of the starter. Once it's past the initial hit the generator can be turned on again to assist the start. Generator assists straits start considerably cooler than battery starts. Later serial number 200's have generator control units that do this for you so you don't have to cycle the gen off and on again.
It's because there is a chance of blowing the current limiter under the forward cabin center aisle floor. I'm an Avionics tech on these...I have had to go replace the current limiter when the plane was off site and the pilot started #1 engine with the #2 generator on.
hi hope you see this. i saw a king200 landing in saint barth.. guy stop it .half runway..amazing. vref like 98....runway is 650meters no really usable because of a hill in threshold....chaart says 2250 ft minimun landibg distance.. was that landi g illegal? ive tried in the sim and is really difficult to stop it. kot many kingairs to saint barth. lots of p12 tbm and 208
it's nice to watch but honestly that's not the future of aviation....very old fashion plane actually, good for a museum today. Im an airbus pilot, so obviously the engine procedure is much more easier, even a kid can do it lol but that's the future.
Crush Admin I’m with you. Flew the military version (C-12) which only had a different paint job. This is a very old 200. We had glass HSI and our start up was WAY less complex.
He's a good instructor!! Very thorough and explains every step.
Agree, verry pragmatic.
This is the best thing I've found yet. Very detailed and easy to follow. Thanks for these
Yeap !! But the resolution is too low.... :-(
kenory nesbeth
Probably the best UA-cam startup video I’ve seen. Nice!
You can see imediately he is a great instructor. Hope would be more of the like this guy!
Old vid now but good instructor, I like how he teaches the SOPs behind a startup too, can tell he flew in the real world not just a flight school.
I'd like to have this guy teach me. Excellent teacher!
after watching this, I see why it is important to sleep well. Going through the start procedures when you are tired can turn into a bad situation.

Best explanation of start up and why that I've seen that's not some flight sim person.
Nice engine sounds. Love them 😍
Really nice video, appreciate the instructor very fluent
Love these PT6s Roaring and coming alive
So that's how she did it
That's exactly how I got here!
@@c_dubya_s me too...lol, next UA-cam, how to jump airport fences.
@@MrKenStein Me too
Same here.
Situational awareness in all its glory
Good stuff, very easy to follow along.
Thanks.
Now that is what I call flight instruction!
Wonderful just what I was looking for. Thanks
Excellent instructional video!
Nice Video - Love the King Air! Thumbs up!
Really good instructor!
This guy is smart as hell.

What a fun guy! Can I switch seats next, please?
Cingratulation captain you know very rhe king 200
This guy has a lot of energy
Now, I'm ready to go flying!
Great video. MYNN ATC Bahamas!!
When and only WHEN I Hit The Lotto and buy my King air 200 I need this guy info........I want him to be my instructor.
supersabrejet nobody ever wins the lotto
The house always wins
nice video but was a potato really the only device available for filming? I mean 240p in 2017? come on man.
I love it... I wanna go fly now :-)
Great instructor.
Best ever!!!
Nice...thanks for sharing.
That's how to start a king air 200
I've never been in a turboprop before. Are they always that loud in the cabin?
Yup, very loud! Thank for the noise-cancelling headset.
Good run-through, but unfortunate that the vid quality is so poor.
Ive never heard of turning off the generator before starting the second engine and turning it back on during the second engine start.

dont trust the parking brake! so true
What's this guy's name and where is he based out of?
Erich Siegler, He's a beauty.
what said the instructor at 1:12?. Number 2 clear.... ???
Number 2 is clear, no plugs, no ties. It’s just a last minute visual check of the prop and engine before starting.
No plugs, no ties! thaks a lot!
Top video!!! .:
What aircraft was that just to the left?
Beechcraft 1900D
👏
I like that guy. Now I NEED to go jump in a plane
if only they just had one button

I have an A320 TR..and understand what youre saying...but...bush flying in Africa where I am..The King air in its various forms is KING!
So the majority of the King Airs out there today should just be scrapped? I’d be much more at ease flying with a museum pilot than the “future” pilot.
