    You know I’ve been waiting over a decade to be able to have the freedom to do weekend trips like this. I’m glad I’m still healthy enough to do stuff like this!

    I'm really enjoying these videos, Duane. Thank-you for such a lovely distraction. I wish I was brave enough to go camping on my own! But I do head up to the nearby rain forested hills occasionally for a short drive. My happy place.

      Thanks so much for watching @aquitrplace7308! Honestly even just staying in the truck is pretty relaxing. I wonder when you say rainforest if you’re near Olympic National Park. I went through there a few months ago and it was a magical place! I didn’t realize how beautiful and peaceful a rainforest could be!!!

      Thanks Kenney! The jug is the Dometic Go 11L container - amzn.to/476mB4i and the faucet is the Dometic GO Hydration Water Faucet - amzn.to/476mB4i - It's a pretty nice setup. I ended up buying them because on my Super Pacific trip I forgot my water containers so I picked up actually 2 when I was in Portland.It's a really nice setup - although *maybe* a bit overkill. @@dustyroaddestinations yeah! The Voortrekkers (Dutch settlers) in the 1820’s, using ox wagons taking years to get from Cape Town to the Transvaal. All that effort, then they discovered gold, then Queen Victoria thought, “I’ll have some of that” in addition to the diamond fields in Kimberley) and a couple of wars later, and about 100 years later we got 4X4 (wheels not oxen) and the rest is modern history.

      @@dustyroaddestinations Oh dear, very sorry Duane. Hope you carry bear spray/.45 close to hand. Bears fascinate me as they're no longer wild here in the UK. Wouldn't wish to come face to face with one. I have a drawing of my street which shows a bear being lead in chains towards a bear pit adjacent to my local 900 year old church in the mid 1800's for the purpose of bear baiting.
      Sequoia looks a very beautiful place to camp. Have always wanted to visit Yellowstone to camp near El Capitan, the 3,000 ft sheer rock face must be so impressive up close, also wish to see some Giant Sequoia trees.
      Really enjoying your travel/camping videos having arrived this way via DSD after a similarly traumatic relationship. Great to see you out and about and thoroughly enjoying life and happiness. Thank you for the great content.

    • @dustyroaddestinations
      @dustyroaddestinations  Рік тому

      Yeah, I finally ordered some bear spray. I should've done that a long time ago. Sequoia is a really beautiful place but the national parks and pretty amazing as well. In some ways they are better because they keep them as natural as possible EXCEPT when there is a ton of people roaming around. Hopefully one of these days you'll make it over to the US and get to see some of our amazing features! My hope with this channel is it's another example of how there can be life at toxic relationships and trauma. It's so easy to fall into the trap that there is no escape. Hope you're doing well!
