    After years of trauma with Sibelius, words cannot express how sweet this sounds: "Dorico can handle complicated tuplets. This includes allowing tuplets to cross bar lines." YAAAAASSSS QUEEN

    I am very upset. The popover shortcut is not ; for all keyboards. You should clarify to your customers that may change depending on which keyboard they use. Here in Spain, the semicolon simply doesn't do anything at all. I have been looking for an answer on why this is happening and I just realized, after wasting lots of time, that the shortcut key for this popover is Ñ in the spanish keyboard, and this is set by default.

    I'm wondering what's the easiest way to change a tuplet if you've entered the wrong thing? Like if you created an eighth note triplet but then you realize you needed a quarter note triplet.

    I would like to if it is possible to have crazy meters like 5/7, 4/6?

    • @dorico
      @dorico 6 років тому

      You can add them in Dorico, but I'm not sure what a '7' or '6' beat is.

      Dorico 7 like septuplets of 8ths. Or 6 from sixtuplets. I’m talking about irrational time signatures like Adam Neely describe them. Only for the case you know him. He‘s a musician and UA-camr. Basically my question is, is it possible to use other denominators than 1, 2, 4, 8 and so on and so forth?

    • @DJKLProductions
      @DJKLProductions 6 років тому

      Dorico I have to correct myself a little bit. For example: a third note is as „long“ as a third of a whole tone. That means it’s one note from a half note triplet. Therefore a sixth note is a note from a quarter note sextuplet (or a quarter note triplet) because it divides a whole note in six equal parts. I now it’s hard to explain without a picture but I tried at least. Now my question is, is it possible to use these kind of divisions and say: „I want to have 4/6 as meter.“?

    • @dorico
      @dorico 6 років тому

      You can make that meter display, but it won't affect the note durations as you need yet. For the moment at least you'd need to use tuplets (and hide the brackets etc) to display the notation you need.

      Dorico Thank you very much! But with your answer another question is coming into my mind: is it possible to add tuplet brackets without any impact like a graphic but adjustable?
      Thanks in advance and I love Dorico! I’m a proud owner!

    the 'simple triplet' button on the left side is not there in my Dorico 4 that I just downloaded. What is the quickest way to implement triplets in the score?

    • @dorico
      @dorico 2 роки тому +1

      The new button acts in the same way as the old one if just pressed once, but it long-press or right-click has more options. Alternatively don't reach for the mouse and use the shortcut e.g. semi-colon ; to open the tuplets popover

    Well, that triplet tool apparently isn't in the SE-version. That should be stated in the first place. I don't like this policy of trying to blackmail me into buying the full version. It actually kills my desire to buy it!

  • @PaulVinonaama

    Triplets do not seem to work properly in Dorico (I have a trial version). If I remove the number (I don't want it to be shown for all repeated triplets) and try to copy the triplet, Dorico copies it as non-triplet. And when I tried to swap two voices, one of which was based on triplets and the other not, Dorico changed non-triplets to triplets and vice versa, creating complete mess.

    • @dorico
      @dorico 7 років тому

      I'm not sure on the exact case, but I didn't find the same situation when I tried what you mention above - the tuplet was also copied even when not shown. Again, if you want to send me your file I'll have a look. Also, there is an Engraving Options > Tuplet section where you can set the number of repeated tuplets before ratio and bracket can be hidden - that way you don't have to go and hide them, they'll hide automatically based on your preference (default is 3).

    Hallo there, Thanks for answer my 1º question 2º - I'm still having problems working with midi inport, for ex, I have 2 16th triplets, ( which is allrihht ) but want to be writen as 6 16ths ( not two times 3 but one (6)
    ) It works when I write a new piece , but when I import any midi , does not work, ....why??

    i am looking for a live record mode though midi, it is possible in dorico ?

    • @dorico
      @dorico 7 років тому

      Hello, in that case you might want to look into Cubase.

    • @dorico
      @dorico 7 років тому

      It isn't possible yet, but we will likely add it in the future. Many people prefer to use 'step' time so that they don't have to go back and fix mistakes they made later, but we understand some people want to play to a metronome.

    • @albujasalazar
      @albujasalazar 7 років тому

      Dorico . Thanks, but I had been working whit other DAW. I would like work in rewire mode too, it is possible, I can't find the setting ..

    • @dorico
      @dorico 7 років тому

      We don't have a Rewire option yet to e.g. synchronise playback between Dorico and a DAW. We are looking into options. Currently Dorico is VST3 compatible (and some VST2) if you are just looking to use VST effects etc though.

    Weird thing happens when I click the tuplet number and delete it. Turns my quintuplet quarter notes into tied dotted half-note & half note inside a single 3\4 bar. I can send the file. Also, all this messing around with the shift+N is absurd. Some things work when it's on, or when it's off, and IMO it would be better without it.

    • @dorico
      @dorico 6 років тому

      Yes, it is possible at the moment to delete the tuplet number and keep the notes. In the future we may also be able to do the opposite by selecting some notes and making them into a tuplet. Shift - N (or press enter) for the caret enables the difference between entering notes and editing existing notes.
