    Is that John Khadzhi stamping the leather pieces, skiving, and gluing? These boots are awesome!

    In my career as a firefighter I have worn several different brands of boots. From red wing to Chippewa to ranger nicks whites and finally globes which I truly loved. And closed my career with. But these boots, wow I would have loved to have pair. Great job.

    CBH85, not yours. They're very nice boots thats for sure and well crafted too! I hope whoever gets them, takes very good care of them. Especially considering the kind of work they're doing.

    If they had a safety toe and no pull tab, they'd be perfect (no zipper needed).

    When they put all the nails through the midsole before they put the actual sole onto the boot, how do those nails not poke up into the feet since they are never removed?

    • @jkbootsusa
      @jkbootsusa  3 дні тому +1

      Thats during the lasting process, the nails that go around the heel go through the leather insole and hit the medal last and bend back on themselves (Ie they don't poke into the feet)! The last is the foot form that gets placed in the boot and is temporarily attached to the insole. You can see the last getting built and put in the boot at 13:03 . The last is taken out later in the process, hope this helps!

      @jkbootsusa very helpful. I've been watching a lot of boot building videos and always wondered that. That's awesome that that's how they curl back into hold bitter. Thank you for the answer

      Sheesh serious stuff! I believe they do it here this way, because they only need a certain length to use. They have all the areas of the hide planned out ahead of time, for where to place the metal die cuts. They always make sure to get as much use of the hides as they can.

    Great looking boot and amazing craftsmanship!
    For shure a very high quality product, but as an active duty firefighter: would not wear in service. No safety toe caps (bare minimum for a firefighter), no steel/kevlar sole layer for step-on protection, no membranes for water, oil and gasoline repelling, no chainsaw cut protection...
    This is a nice boot, but not up to the standards of a service boot.

      The Station Boot is a custom boot, and has the option of adding a safety toe and a lineman/shovel shank which is a steel shank under the arch for comfort and protection. We use the highest quality oil tanned leather, which makes it naturally highly resistant to liquids. We've also seen customers social media post of how our boots have protected their feet from chainsaws and other dangers. These boots will hold up in the toughest of conditions, hopefully this helps clear up any confusion! If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to our customer service team at general@jkboots.com Thanks for the support!
