Guile's flash kick is such a good counter for most of bisons moves. I beat street fighter 2 for the first time when I think I was 8 and the only way I was able to beat bison at the time was using Guile's flash kick. I was so happy I cried.

Well, to be fair he wasn't that cheap when controlled by the AI :P. At least until the Super Turbo version where everyone was cheap and cheating like there was no tomorrow.

God I got absolutely ROLLED by a Bison player once. Not that I'm very good at this game and I play Zangief, which doesn't help, but he beat me so badly I almost turned into a child and accused him of cheating. Don't push buttons, don't jump, and DON'T GET HIT. I did all 3 and he never missed a punish.

For the young'ns, the cheapest thing about CE Bison actually isn't in this video. Yes, his Psycho Crusher is kinda stupid, but it fails compared to his knee press, which is so ridiculously plus on block it literally gives him a blockstun infinite (which I think might be doable midscreen? couldn't find a video of it). So if Bison puts you in blockstun with a cancellable normal at the right range he could GG you right there without even HITTING you. As other people have noted, this is the primary reason he sucks so much in Hyper Fighting, because they nerfed the SHIT out of him from his CE self.
Man bro as I was observing that match this helps me alot to fight more players like that. They take advantage of that negative space something tough. Specially if you are used to being a aggressive attacker. Always close negative space. Because that's how the enemy gets you every time. Like the few rounds you did was smoking hot. You killed his negative zone which took alot of blood off them strikes. Other than that bro that video was tight man! Hopefully you fight more guys like that. Then back up which will give you options to block against aggressive opponents like bison. But mostly it just means put some pressure on the opponent enough to play tricks on him stop his intentional movement.

I done it on some occasions but then I throw a hissie fit lol. But yeah not much of a street fighter but mostly just know spacing. I learned that from fighting experienced players.
I think Bison is the only character in this game that has an infinite combo: down low punch, down low punch, Scissor Kick, down medium punch, standing medium kick. Once the first low punch hits you, you lose.
Yeah bison has always been a cheap boss, but this was player vs player. Or at least thats what he says in the beginning but I didn't notice a gamer tag. I was so depressed when I picked bison in alpha 3 and his psych crusher didn't fly off screen. One day my friend noticed that as a boss, bison had his own super meter that wasn't like the others the player can choose, so that's why his psycho crusher is different when he's the boss. We felt ripped off about it.
Well in ce l,you almost always lose if you don't have a character that can counter bison's infinite,the only way of escape is if the bison player makes a mistake.
HF punished him a little too harshly for his CE tyranny 😆. I think his Crusher was balanced well enough in HF, but everything else took just a bit too much of a hit. They could have at least let his slower, clumsier Knee Press deal a little more damage on its own, having nerfed its viability in combos. My opinion, though...
There is a certain point where psycho crusher is vulnerable but you have to have precise timing. You did good. I played so many player in mexico who used bison and i used ryu. Also if he does psycho crusher from close you can react with light shoryuken and be slightly safe. I paid attention to every detail in a bison match. You can also do back jumping roundhouse and beat psycho crusher but you must time just right. Bison is nothing but precise counter attacks at the right moment
That playstyle is typical for competitive ce bison players,basically called infinite bison and its looked down upon on players who use it.apart from him using cheap infinite bison,caution is actually good with other characters

Props for giving Boxer a chance in that game, he is hard to use. He has a mix-up that actually works pretty well against Dictator players using his weird TAP after a knockdown, then forcing the opponent to guess at whether you will grab him or use a low attack on him following it. I've seen a good Boxer player win matches against pretty good Dictator players using this tactic intelligently.

Jump back FP beats headstomp. You can also punish with a well time tatsu. Use the invincibility to whiff the stomp. Just keep fireballing in the corner, he can't jump out without a guess, only up or back.

The thing about Bison is he has NO defense. He has all kind of mobility and offensive options, but under pressure he struggles. If you throw fireballs from distance of course he'll stomp you. But what is he going to do when you apply corner pressure up close?
Good points, he does have trouble getting out of corner traps, even in this game. A lot of the CE meta is like that, where characters might be pretty strong overall, but have an achilles heel like that. Balrog, who has a lot of bad matchups in that game, can actually pretty effectively pin down a Bison with a guessing game he can force with TAPs after a knockdown.
@@younghotboy109 You're right about CPU Bison, but CPUs play by different rules. 😄 CPU Bison can launch a psycho crusher while walking forward and his roundhouse is completely invincible until the recovery frames, for a couple of examples. If you analyzed all the little cheats the CPU uses, you would have a nice long list for almost every character.
Justin is too honorable in SF2. You have to play super cheap in SF2, especially in this one CE. Dictator has bad defense so once you have him knocked down, you need to rush him. Gotta use more throws.

You land a jump in, in SF2, you need to covert that into a dizzy and from the dizzy into death. Screwing around with some crouching lights into a blockstring "for spacing" is exactly that - screwing around

Sometimes. There is a fairly significant random factor in clean damage in these old SF2 games.
Most chars take standard 5-hit when blocking PC. But other like Honda can take even 6 hits.

Dragon punch beats headstomp, so why always the block when he does that? If there's time to come out of the howduken and block before he stomps you there's time to get the dragon punch out isn't there?
