- Hope you guys enjoy todays logo history! Renaissance Pictures is an American film production and television company. It was founded by director Sam Raimi, producer Rob Tapert and actor Bruce Campbell, with help from publicist Irvin Shapiro, on August 10, 1979 to produce their film The Evil Dead, along with its sequels Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.
Renaissance has produced many films involving the three founders, as well as those made by other entertainment professionals connected with them, including the Joel and Ethan Coen written Crimewave and Josh Becker's Thou Shalt Not Kill... Except. Later efforts include big budget action films such as Darkman (also directed by Raimi), Hard Target and Timecop, the television series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, both of which featured Campbell in various capacities, as well as Raimi's brother Ted as recurring character Joxer. Raimi and Tapert now produce horror films, including Raimi's own Drag Me to Hell, through Ghost House Pictures.
The original logo of the company paid homage to the opening of the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, before it was changed to a Mona Lisa-esque Renaissance painting being torn apart by lightning in 1994. - Розваги
The 2nd logo has been labeled as another scariest logo, due to the painting at the beginning, the thunderstorms, the fact that everything happens on a black background and the top it all off, the music.
That shit was creepy back in the day after xena was shown at night with the lights off lol kinda.
That logo is way too creepy, but I like it. 👍
“HERCULES...... 💪💪💪💪The Legendary Journeys!!”👊🏻
Others call it the Mona Lisa of death...
Leonardo Da Vinci: It's alive!
High pitched versions are even more nightmare fuel inducing
DVS: A man's face is shown on the screen, a tear comes into view and rips the man's face in two, showing lightening and words appear: Renaissance Pictures
"Portrait by youth" painted by Raphael Sanzio
My favorite director's production company
Used to scare the shxt out of me when I was a kid. Loved watching Hercules and Xena, but i would hide whenever this popped up.

I Love Pizza, yes it is.
RIP Renaissance Pictures 1979-2018
Was that Mozart on the 2nd logo
Many people consider this scary, but it’s a bold and badass bump for a production company in an industry where that is essential.
The painting in the logo is “Portrait of a Youth” by Raphael. As if torn childhood innocence is being forcefully torn to shreds by their movies in a dark ritual, after seeing the film after the end credits. Considering the dark films they made…
This is Bruce Campbell and Sam Rami’s production company, so that also makes sense.
That might make this seem scarier, but knowing the theory behind art helps you take away fear and appreciate the artist.
Huge respect to its creators.
I compare it to Mel Gibson's Icon logo as a window of the soul of the cinema.
The second logo would feel like a beginning of a Punk rock music video
This is now Raimi Productions
0:50 🎵Aaaaaaayiiiiiiiiiiii🎵
And is the men there sung Ave Maria?
I remember the 2nd logo from the 90s
Do you think who ripped the face? Ash? Hercules? Xena? Candyman?
*HUMOR*

In my opinion, neither of these logos don’t considered to be scary enough however, as I have seen them on films before. ☺️ 👍
Perhaps this stems from the logo playing after the end credits of a really scary movie made by this company.
the 2nd logo seen from xena the warrior princess and hercules the legendary journeys
