I used to focus on the bad parts of life, but after hearing this beautiful song I realized, that why spend time crying, and feeling sorrow for every bad thing that happens in life, when there are so many good things to look at. Now I look at all the blessings that God has given me, like the fact that I'm healthy, and im living right now. Don't spend your time looking at the negatives, instead be thankful with God for every blessing in your life!
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. - Romans 8:28 Jesus never promised we might have troubles, He said we WILL, but to take heart because He has overcome the world (John 16:33). These are the promises I hold on to when counting blessings feels hard. A friend asked me, “What would you have today if you only had what you thanked God for yesterday?” My prayer journal is more honest than my instantaneous response. Let’s count every blessing. Let’s ask God, not to give us strength, but to give us the wisdom to seek the strength of our Savior.

This story may sound pathetic... But last week, my bf broke up with me and I was devastated. Last night, I asked God to take all of my sadness about it because I was becoming very depressed and I didn't want to be like that. I prayed just before I went to sleep and asked him that when I woke up the next morning for me to not be sad anymore. Well, this morning, I woke up and wasnt sad and I actually didn't remember a reason why I should be. I got in the car with my grandma so that she could drive me to school. My sister got a Tauren Wells CD that was in the car and it's all she plays, so it was on. My grandma turned it off because we were both kinda sick of the CD. The radio was completely off, my grandma starts praying what she always does before I go to school ("let Gracie have a great day, be with her, etc.) And I suddenly remembered about the break up. I didnt have time to be upset about it yet, the memory just came back, when the radio turns on BY ITSELF and this song comes on. Not even the tauren wells CD, which it shouldve been on. My grandma just looked at me and was like, "Did I do that?" I said no, and we knew that I hadn't either. She goes, "Well, it must be a God thing." And I know it was. My grandma didnt know I had been upset, but I did. And I remembered my prayer. So this song is forever going to be special to me.

This week has been a trial for sure.. if I can only relate to JOB in the BIBLE I know God is speaking to me and knows who I am, praising his name forevermore. This past week alone I lost my tiny home and everything in it(which was everything I owned except a bag of clothes I just so happened to have on me) but I still praised God and drove to church and keeping worshiping and praising him. Then I lost my german Shepard in a since of not seeing her for two months due to having to relocated since im currently homeless. Although she did not pass away like Job's seven children the pain of not reaching my baby pup is hurtful. Next up my school registration process was denied after being accepted into the school which I really needed to get into to try and get housing this semester. But I still praised God and thanked him for allowing me to get accepted. The following day(today) I starting plans for my bible study fellowship group and was on the way to get the flyers printed out and was involved in a car accident(unknowingly my fault). Although I didn't have sores all over like JOB my pain is still pretty strong in my back and neck area. YES, You bet I still praise the lord every chance I get. I know there are going to be better days so im counting every blessing even when I can not see. Thank you God for everything you've done for me and is still doing!
This song would be so much better if it were talking about TANGIBLE blessings like loved ones, food, home...stuff like that. I like to imagine it is, because other then that, it is a very good song. Sorry to vet an unpopular opinion, it just annoys me when I actually listen to the words. But that's what I get with this genera. Just wish there were more positive songs like this that were also more down to earth...I don't identify with this planet. Wish some Aliens would take me back to my real planet, lol.
