dynamite. I heard this song while watching Ken Burns' Jazz, and I knew I had heard another version and had loved it. I could not remember where I had heard it, or the title, so I waited for the credits. When I saw the title, I knew it was from a cassette tape that I recorded of this very version back in about 1987 or so. I am so grateful to for posting this. Now I have a way to enjoy this CD once again.
1987 sounds about right , John, I borrowed it from Palmers Green Library and taped it - lost it after several moves and here it is. God bless the internet. Wonderful.
I knew a guy who had it on vinyl and I taped it onto cassette. I contacted the label but they said they wouldn't release it on CD 😢 These versions of Arts songs with Milcho Leviev were so different to the versions he recorded in the US. I prefer them and thought they needed to be put online. I made this channel to just put these up but can't remember the password 😂
Those cats were on top of the world
Very soulful. Art's one of my favorites!
Until I heard Art Pepper I thought there was no one to touch Charlie Parker for sheer emotive power---and this record -Art at his Best!!
The 4 cd set is available on Widow's Choice records,Laurie Pepper's label

ART and the group really get deep into this classic piece composed by Gordon Jenkins.
