- I sell thousands of accessories and clothing on Roblox every single day, but my Robux income is lower than ever before simply because of how expensive it is to make free UGC limiteds and because of all of these silly fees Roblox keeps implementing. These new UGC updates have just proven how greedy and out of touch Roblox is with its UGC creators, and I generally feel bad for anyone that does UGC for a full-time job.

UGC was amazing from 2019 to early 2021;
Downfall was when they started to accept everyone, before then it was rare to see limited copies and we actually had good items

UGC was alright in 2019, I think its peak personally 2020 to early 2021 since we were getting alot of unique items and ideas that werent just copy and pasted like they are on the catalogue now

It is very sad , I was very late to the game and invested in high quality items with my designer . But the market it flooded with low quality items or massive groups mass uploading .

There are certain UGC creators who are just reposting the same accessories to flood the market, this pretty much ruined the catalag search for most items and made it practically impossible to find anything unique 😓
id agree limteds are some of those iterms that are uniqe yet exspenciv
This is roblox's job to find them, taking revenge on the entire community (that cannot take action themselves) is not really a solution :/
@@doomepic sir, that is not possible. You could never hire enough staff to do that. Think about how much money that would cost in staff if it were. Who's paying for that? The users. You and I. And rightfully so. Instead of hiring the thousands of staff to make it possible, they've done this. Now it's about creating quality, building a brand, and putting actual effort in.

A 30-70 split is absolutely WILD dude, that is not fair at all.
Even worse, people reselling your stuff through a game world get 40% out of that 70% roblox normally takes.
In that case, what you do is create UGCs and sell them in-game. A lot of the time, it's people who do not know what they're doing and rely on just having their items in the catalog. You can just as easily have it a 70-30 your way. People just don't know how to market.

My reason for that is because of Roblox's age demographic, most of them are bascally 9-10 year olds. But it wont be long before they "leave" Roblox just like i did when they grow up. Made my first UGC with the regret of not researching this type of thing. Man.. it is not worth it to have to spend so much to earn so little and hoping for luck to be on your side.
I remember when UGC was first released and I remember my first thought of it becoming like them shit Adidas fire and cold shirts that were plastered all over Roblox in like 2016. Now everytime I look for something to get for my avatar it's the same trash bootleg lims & oder items. I genuinely just avoid buying anything made from anyone other than Roblox, not to say some people don't have genuine skill to make good looking items. Roblox know they have massive problems yet completely ignore the community

As a Developer myself I couldnt agree more, roblox just wants to take our money and leave pratically nothing for us, things is that we can't do nothing about it, My sister as well she has a group with ugc items and now Roblox has warned her that she needs to buy premium 1500 to keep her ugcs up in the group, which is bs, I really hope Roblox comes to their senses soon, and I am guessing if we developers and ugc creators don't do none about it it will never change.

Keep making videos on this, people need to hear more of this content. Roblox as of writing this has made more changes to UGC by increasing price floors of items up to 70 for hats, and 145 for back accessories. It is absolutely ridiculous as this impacts UGC creators by a ton, not only do they need to be careful with what they upload, but they also need to pray that the upload makes back their robux that was spent uploading the model. 750 per upload, plus a payment of 500 - 1500 if I recall just for one item. Of course it doesn't get taxed until they make the money back, but that's assuming that the item even sells in the first place. It has gotten so expensive for pretty pixels that it now detours people from wanting to spend money on accessories, further impacting the sales of items made by UGC creators. It also makes people questions whether they want to stay in the program because of the amount of money that it requires. We need to do something about this and try to get Roblox's attention to revert this greedy update.

I feel like roblox is either going broke for god knows or they are just being very greedy gatekeeping their money trying to make huge profits. I think they figure by making creators from making less robux they don't have as much money to dev ex so it wont be eating into roblox's funds as much.

first you have to BUY robux ($20 or 2,200 for premium for example)
then upload a UGC that costs robux which they now raised by about 2x the robux in which has an INCREASED price floor of 65 (1,500 or 20k for a UGC limited) which also can be BANNED and REMOVE your privilege of selling any UGCs at any time
then after that you'll have to deal with this terrible earning rates (somehow classic shirts, pants, and t-shirts have way better rates for uploading an image (no hate btw) than spending hours on making textures and models for a UGC??)

As a UGC creator, it’s quite annoying, I’ve spent 400k on posting free limiteds, didn’t really gain from it and kind of regret doing them as Roblox ends up screwing us over in the end.

Ugc isn’t worth it because everyone now has ugc and that people actually made high quality items but now it’s just everything is the same. This all started with the png ugcs back a couple years ago
and that's the real reason roblox opened up public UGC. Not to "be inclusive" but so they didn't have to start paying UGC creators an actual decent rate again. So that the lack of UGC creator items that may come from the low pay they're getting will be filled with many public creations.
We also as a community should also spam the review app page of Roblox about this problem until it is solved

Bro im so done. I worked hard 3d modeling not knowing about the 750 fee. I got the money to post 2 items just to learn there is a 1k publish fee. Then I learn I only make 30% of the robux. If I only upload 1 hat, I need 59 sales to break even, then I can make 30 robux per sale. What can I even do????
im the same, i have a ugc but i only got 7 sales in over a week even with sponsorships. i suppose classic clothing is more profitable as i can make a ton of it and sometimes they get many sales

Also DMCA abusers as well as people will claim the rights to stuff that they don't even own and roblox hardly questions their claims.
The topic is interesting, but it lacks the point that ROBLOX has limiteds the opportunity to a small amount of people, many have been waiting months or either even a year till now to be accepted into the UGC program. Some even been accepted but never given access either.

On the positive side though it will keep the marketplace section from having useless stuff uploaded to it. There were also too many limited out there that were questionable at most for their lack of quality, originality, etc. One thing I'd like to see is Roblox coming down on these games that say free UGC and, when you go in there aren't any free UGC's in the game. There should be a special report feature for. It takes only seconds to be able to change your game name back to normal and, seconds to remove the picture saying free UGC. These people found a way to exploit incoming Robux revenue generated towards their game because more often than not the Premium members will go in there, do the tasks they are supposed to do to get the UGC in question just to then after being in the game for sometimes hours... they finally finish the quest... click to redeem the UGC and, are told that none of them are available. I don't know but in my country that's considered fraud.
Also Roblox needs to add free ugc rules in game from games that is starting their first time. Because sols rng was a pain they didn’t try to give players who have never played this a chance for the lock egg it was struggling even for me.

I have a few genuine unique items uploaded myself and because of the over saturation of the catalogue i’m only making 2-3 sales per day. UGC is honestly miserable, I don’t recommend it whatsoever.
Almost everyone expected this out come, only a few were navie enough to believe it would be fine and that roblox knew what they were doing.
