- Jul.02 -- Ray Dalio, the billionaire founder of Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, discusses his views on the global economy amid the coronavirus pandemic and why he's worried about the U.S.'s ability to compete with China. He spoke in a 30-minute conversation with Bloomberg’s Erik Schatzker during the Bloomberg Global Asset Owners Forum.
Thank you interviewer for not interrupting Ray constantly. This interviewer is awesome, he took the advice of the viewers, thanks man!
yes that is something that is very rare these days unfortunately, great interviewer!
the only thing that is not ok is the 16 sec where Dalio is on mute!! @ 16:01 -16:17 is that on purpose #Bloomberg??

Thank you for share all what he wanted to say. Great job of the interviewer. 👍👏
Maybe he has no idea what he is talking about! lol

If you found it so fruitful what he said, please repeat Ray‘s point about China.
@@LoanwordEggcorn Ray Dalio is a globalist oligarch that looted the middle class. He feels so much guilt and that's why he pops up everywhere on UA-cam in an attempt to feel better about himself.

honestly impressed with how little stupid interruptions where there. good job Bloomberg, we appreciate it!
Kudos for the Video clip! Sorry for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you considered - Chiveard Discovering Potential Framework (do a search on google)? Love your logo. What's your longest HEX stake?
Its not like he was actually listening though. He's fiddling around uninterested for most the interview.

Erik Schatzker is the best interviewer at Bloomberg. He's the least political. He often asks the questions I would ask. I'm glad he's the one who interviews the big Wall Street names.

Sphinx if bond return rates keep going down and we get negative interest rates, then yes, bonds might become useless. A few European nations have negative rate bonds now. Meanwhile central banks keep on printing money to try to prevent the economy from “going under.”
See ua-cam.com/video/8nsZJU3mDoc/v-deo.html they do a good job of explaining why people are still paying for negative rate bonds.

I love how Ray doesn't keep all his knowledge to himself but makes sure the next generation learns and produces more people like him.
i know right great man
Ah but he he keeps the money to himself and doesn’t admit that China poisoned the world with the virus...They should have shut down world travel down ASAP but let it seed. Don’t get me wrong he is very. Knowledgeable and shares what he knows but he is a money man through and through and doesn’t want the pitchforks at his gate...
Yount Freshly lol what about the US with the swine flu? Do we keep it inside or it spreads all over the world? Its being hypocritical if you look it that way. IMO, China has done their best by locking down the whole province, while Donald Trump was the one to blame for not taking swift actions in preventing the disease to spread like this. Even now, EU has already brought the covid rate down because they listen to experts, we Americans are fucking around too much and not listening. If you listen to Dalio about fragmented society in which everyone has different idea how to do things, this covid situation is a perfect situation how fragmented the country is, while on the other side of the chess board is taking swift steps and winning this covid battle.
@@Honestly__now Ray doesn't pick side on US or China because he doesn't care about politics where there is no truth nor morality. How can you name China as the evil one for not blocking all international travel when Italy or South Korea or US or Brazil never blocked anyone flying out? whatever wrong China committed has also been made by many western countries. Ray just doesn't want to get into that stupid debate. he only cares about macroeconomic trends. if you want to hear political commentary, then go to fox or CNN.
China reported the first case but if you have been reading the news and the phylogenetic network analysis it looks like the virus didnt originated in china. There are several countries like HongKong or Thailand that didn’t impose early travel ban on china but they have very weak covid19 crisis on their countries
By far the best interviewer who has interviewed Ray without interrupting him

What Ray said as a result of that moment was possibly the most valuable piece of that interview
Yeah thx
AWESOME interviewer, feedback taken and it shows.
Ray kept referring to a “previous session” which presumably took place before this interview. Is there a link to that session?
Ray Dalio has been my mentor for investing for years. He’s brilliant at painting the big picture and think in context while communicating his ideas in such simple, powerful way.
I am just getting into him- this is encouraging, thanks!!
Eric is MUCH BETTER interviewer than he was when he interviewed Michael Lewis some years ago. That was irritating. Excellent interview. Ray is always worth listening to. Great job!
M-m-m, putting forth that, we are to borrow from ourselves, as appears to MY mind, Mr. Ray Dalio is but another common deceiver, . . . favoring the monied class, . . . and to supplant his entire lack of any useful skill, he pedals mere deceptions, . . .
In order to explain the actuality of successful monetary policy, consider a war:
In order to successfully prosecute our Revolutionary War, Gen. George Washington persuaded some friends to put forth in a ship, to the Caribbean, . . . and from sympathetic sources, they collected up over 2 million in Spanish silver dollars.
Nowadays~as a nation~we don't scrape around for nickels and dimes and dollars in taxes, . . . rather, as for everything else also, we simply credit so much funding to this or that account; and folks are hired to work, producing all kinds of stuff and, that's that~all the while, the standard of living rising for all; and simply because, again, ever more folks are working~are producing, . . . and so that, as for example with an another highway across the United States, we easily drive from point "A" to point "B", enjoying the cost savings of traveling through tunnels and across overpasses and high bridges, instead of being put to the DIFFICULTY of traveling steep grades up and down mountains and canyons, . . . ditto for schools, hospitals, mail service, and so forth, in conveniences both small and great, everything contributing to a higher standard of living for everyone in the nation and in the world, . . . and, "in the world" simply because, the fund in the trillions of dollars~most often referred to as "national debt"~is simply an indefinite amount of money or "liquidity" in which the world operates in a kind of fish bowl of medium of exchange or currency, as is necessary to everyday commercial interactions in a unified global economy.
And in this way, I think that, President Trump is preparing to move the nation into a fuller circumstance of employment, . . .
And so we see, the modern purpose for taxes is rather, to temporarily and simply disadvantage this or that group or individual, who are "taxed", . . . and this, from the politicians' sleight of hand, again, to keep the populace deprived of knowledge, or, in a word as improvident and necessitous, dependent thralls, . . .
I’ve learned so much from this man. My guy is looking in rough shape. Stay strong Ray ❤️🇲🇽
yeah it looks like Parkinson's :(
@@aarav3890 Please elaborate, he looks a little pale but that could be the lighting. Would be a shame for Ray to go.

The Federal Reserve is the buyer and seller of last resort. Owns and controls everything, by printing money.
Easy there Greg Mannarino. ;)
They may print money, but they don't create inflation. They are just increases bank reserves. The banks can lend against those reserves, but they aren't. Look at loan data of the FRED website. Lending (specifically consumer) needs to accelerate for there to be inflation.

Why is it that whenever a Bloomberg guest is gonna prove a deep important point, (Dalio 16:10) that the message gets blurrex...?
Good question! I believe he was making a great point about the gold standard that FDR took us off of. And they silenced him. Interesting...
Liability reasons, his lawyers can censor anything that gets into material territory. Since its a hedge fund, he can release specific information to specific groups of investors. Should that information get released to lesser groups, a full release must be made to all investors at that level and above.
