I was fortunate enough to attend LEGEND MM on March 2nd , 2024 at YOKOHAMA ARENA when this song was performed celebrating the end of her 20th year. On MARCH 3rd, 2024 she turned 21.
The contrast of Momo's growl to her clean vocals is both wild and yet somehow completely fitting for Babymetal. Momo's performance was the embodiment of the juxtaposition of seemingly contradictory elements that define Babymetal; it was like taking the concept that lies at the heart of Babymetal to it's logical conclusion. I'm extremely glad that I got to be there live and to be front and center to experience it because it was a once in lifetime moment for everyone who was there. Having spent the last year enduring the baptism of fire on the road, Momo absolutely knocked it out of the park in the final step of her initiation into Babymetal. Also, an extra shoutout to Su-metal, who sounded absolutely amazing at Legend MM. It was the best she sounded at any Babymetal show I have been to.
Moa looked really confident when they swapped places on her 20th, Momo looks really nervous until she starts singing -- I love Su's little reassuring nod when she hands over the mike. Also, when they're in front of each other at 9:39 you can glimpse Su having a big fat grin in her face, like "yay, this is going great!"
Welcome back. Hopefully you will also get to see this Momobanger performance in full one day since this was a compilation using clips from a load of concerts where she wasn't even performing (that just seems wrong when this is specifically meant to be celebrating Momometal and her her 20th year). Also there was some lore before the song that culminated in Momoko descending from the rafters of the building to the stage that you didn't get to see here. On the second night (her actual 21st birthday) she started Meta Taro as lead vocalist - another special performance.
Haha, great reaction sir! I saw the WOWOW broadcast of Legend MM, and I must say, the Kami Band is doing some unique things in how they're playing the songs. I've noticed a few extra/different riffs that weren't present in past performances. Momometal goes from Momo-zilla to Momo-peach in an instant haha, such a bad a$$! Also, you're absolutely right, Momo definitely melded with the group well, and their chemistry is better than ever. Su said in a recent interview from Sick New World that they have spent ~200 days in a row with each other between the 100 shows they've done last year. That's just crazy haha, no wonder they seem like best friends on stage. I'm excited for their new collab with Electric Callboy too! 🤘🦊
This compilation is pretty damn confusing sincei it's labelled as "MOMOMETAL Ver." but it has a TON of clips from concerts that did not even include Momo in them. But I guess the vocals are the most important part on Momo definitely crushed it.

It's also lovely in that the clips are from Legend S and Legend M, Su and Moa's 20th birthday celebrations (a couple of others might have slipped in, but I'm pretty sure it was just those two). So while this is foremost Momo's concert, it ties in this special occasion with other special occasions for Su and Moa, reinforcing their (holy😊?) trinity. Or something like that.

Momo is a great embodiment of Babymetal's magic, this clever integration of elements seen as opposites and contrary to each other that they put together to create something so crisp and seamlessly combined! Pretty words to say Momo fucking rocks!!!
Nice reaction although that compilation video is very sub-par. Yes with the addition of Momometal we have a new weapon (as Su-metal herself said). Please check the actual live performance if you can (it's out there) because you are missing the intro and Momometal entering the stage for the encore in a spectacular way. I was there in Yokohama and it's an experience I will never forget.
Moa and Momo need to come out and do Black Babymetal with Moa wearing her red scarf and Momo wearing her yellow scarf from their time in Mini-Pati. It would be a great way to start Black Babymetal up again while also giving a nod to Yui (who wore the yellow scarf before Momo).

Momo's voice isn't quite up to Su's level. No one is. Momo doesn't quite have that quality that just carries over the music, but the girl can sing. If we got new Black Babymetal songs, or more songs with her as lead I would not be upset.
For someone who has listened to so much BM, it's shocking how much you don't know. Yui has also sung lead on Head Banger. So, all 4 ladies have done this, it's not a trilogy. Momo is WELL known for her ability to growl. BM does utilize this talent. I guess you've never seen the Metali video or the live version of Metali. And why did you show a compilation? It's horrible. Momo is not in 95% of the video. There IS a video of her complete performance. And one last thing. And finally, It's not "Sakura Gurian", it's, "Sakura Gakuin".

I was at the Sept 9th show in Ct The show was iconic but the opening act DETHKLOK sucked and was inappropriate for kids..
