      @@106dls temperatures in the manuals are general guidelines, never have I run across a manual that I didn't have to tweak time or temperature. The tests you saw, were just for that video, so it's not like they're sitting there 24/7 running. As for the camera being dead on, there's not much I can do about it. There's about a 5-ft space for everything, and a window behind me that causes interference with the light balance of the camera. It is what it is.

    I like that I can "fry" something on a whim! An oil fryer takes so much more time to clean and prepare ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB a chore which usually kept me from frying all together. Also, the lack of needing oil to fry means that my family and I are eating healthier... while still enjoying the crispiness of fried foods.

    This was very helpful. It's definitely the Cuisinart for me! Faster cooking, more browning, a nice design, and smaller footprint than the Ninja, which is critical with my limited counter space. I mention this in one of my earlier videos.
      The problem with flipping up and cleaning, is at times, grease splatter gest on the cleaning tray. When you flip it up to clean, the grease runs everywhere. The grease takes several hours to turn hard enough where it won't drip down everywhere. So if you wait, you can flip up and clean. If you are like me and want to clean it out sooner, it can be a mess. Thanks for watching and suggestions!

      Ninja came out with cheaper models. They're slightly bigger and bulkier, for a lesser price. I'm not sure if you visit woot.com, but often they have refurbished units for about 80 bucks. I've ordered things like that before and they practically look new. It might be something worth investigating if you're really interested in it. I just felt that the ninja wasn't a true air fryer oven, more of a convection oven. Otherwise it is great for a small space, heats up and recovers quickly and also toasts unlike some air fryer ovens. I consider the ninja more of a convection over an air fryer oven. It has a small fan on the side, versus a larger fan on top. Otherwise, if it had the large fan on top it would have been a little taller and I would have liked it a lot more. Depending, I may or may not add oil to the wings. On the Ninja, keeping the sheet pan in and under the basket really helps to keep it clean. Also, from a versatility standpoint, it looks like a frozen pizza wouldn't fit in the Cuisinart or GoWise, but it does in the Ninja.

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  4 роки тому +5

      Not in front of it right now, but I believe It had a bump out. The pizzas I make are more personal size, so I think it would be okay. Also, if you don't necessarily need the pan underneath and you are using the bottom elements, it would take away from the heating elements capabilities on the bottom. Given all the Air Fryers you have, do you prefer the basket style or the oven? Do you feel food and air fried in the basket style cooks and crisps better than the oven especially when you have layers in the oven? Also the Cuisinart is there only one shelf to do the air fryer on? You can’t do two or three shelves at once?

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  3 роки тому +5

      Overall, I think a regular air fryer with the basket does the better job. That being said, not everybody has room for multiple appliances. The air fryer oven while fits the all-in-one void, but I don't think it does a good a job as an airfryer itself. You could potentially put two rows or shells of food in the ovens, however I feel that the bottom doesn't cook as fast and it has to be left in longer.

    Thank you for your review. I’ve been listening to many reviews and decided to go with the Ninja air fryer/toaster oven. One of the reasons I picked it is because I would not use it to make a Rotisserie chicken, since Costco makes a great one for $4.99, and I love making a roast chicken in my clay pot with wine!!! You mentioned in your video that it was a mess to clean up after the chicken wings.Well it does have a drip pan that you can put underneath of the air frying basket, therefore no mess from the chicken wings. I believe you showed this at the beginning of the video with the parts. I love the feature that you can lift it up to put it away but unfortunately my cabinets were 1/4 inch too low, but with that said I don’t think I would ever lift it up, unless I needed the space for prep in my kitchen. I am about to buy an oven/air fryer and I am pretty sure that Cuisinart is what I am going to buy. It is a. bit pricey but both the function reviews and the safety reviews have largely favoured Cuisinart. There are accidents with all of these kitchen devices but cuisinart appears to have fewer. The glass can explode on all three but that happens less, according to reports, to the Cuisinart. The plastic on the Go wise occasionally catches fire. These problems are not particularly common but common enough to keep in mind when choosing.
    The plastic burning on the Go Wise is not necessarily a defect in the device as it is very possible, even likely that the thing has been situated improperly so that there is not enough airflow around and and on top of the oven.

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  Рік тому

      You're always going to have problems no matter what. I had the $400 breville, and it broke twice so when it was replaced the last time, I sold it. As far as fires and melting goes, not properly cleaning it out with excessive grease inside, or properly spacing as you mentioned can be a big problem. Also some people need to use extension cords due to placement and not using a proper extension cord causing excessive heat. I've had pretty good luck with my Cuisinart. The main air fryer fan itself is good still, the secondary circulating one buzzes every once in a while. However, so far, the Cuisinart air fryer oven has been the best oven for me so far. It is simply lacking a rotisserie, however there is a clone of the Cuisinart that actually has a rotisserie as well in it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's made off the same assembly line.

      @@m3rdpwr There are a number of different problems and no brand is error free but some are more likely to burn or melt (plastic) than others. Of course, we can't auto assume the manufacturer is the source of the problems but there have been big recalls and more will likely come in the future. We also can't assume the makers are innocent.
      There are a variety of safety concerns such as toxic out gassing that is an issue with Every model and make. That can be dealt with by running the device at high temps a couple of times before cooking food in it. The non stick coatings are of concern but there are a variety of chemicals such as mold release lubricants and other chemicals sprayed on the metals, even stainless steal that one can and should deal with.

I usually cook it to 170 plus, and as close to the element as possible so it could get more of that direct heat to get the skin crispy. That being said, some people just like their food cook different ways. Some people will get there cooked rare, which I cannot stand. I really wanted to like these, BUT NONE OF THEM FIT MY NEEDS for a compact size convection oven to cook meats, bake a small cake, even bake pasta dishes like lasagna. I currently own a kitchen aid Architect countertop oven that did all of the above great for years and fit my space well until it died on me. I want the same oven but i don't see them anymore online or at stores. I bought mine at Macy's years ago...

      I have tried french fries in the gowise USA air fryer oven using the rotisserie basket. However, it just takes a lot more time to cook the fries. The only benefit I saw use the rotisserie basket for French fries, was that you didn't have to flip the fries part way through because they're always being flipped. As far as the Cuisinart goes, it does not have a rotisserie function. I do have that video posted, I will see if I can find the link and share to you.

      Actually, the ninja and the Cuisinart went back. The Cuisinart had a stUCk crumb tray, that's why I could not remove it. The ninja is not a true air fryer. The benefit of the Ninja is was the quick pre-heating times because of the quartz elements, the compact design, the ability to simply do toast and things of that nature, as well as easy cleanup. @@m3rdpwr FWIW, I tried the Foodi for the first time on chicken wings last night. I used the tray underneath to catch the drippings from the skin as they cooked; thank goodness, because what a mess to clean if I hadn't. I cooked at your suggested 430 and I don't know if that had anything to do with it because Ninja suggests 400 for wings, but my smoke alarm in my apartment went off three times during cooking so I lowered to 400. Aside from that though, the wings were perfect, crisp and moist. Clean up was relatively easy too (mostly just the tray and basket), not only because of the tray catching the drippings, but after the unit cools and you remove the crumb tray and wire shelf, you can turn the unit upright and drop open the bottom; it's much easier to clean everything inside the unit, especially the top and sides which gets most of the splatter, then to not have to strain to try and clean the inside top portion around the elements. Great feature of this product no other I've seen has. Just my two cents. Thanks for an informative video.

    Hi there, I am on my 3rd air fryer now. I started with one that revolves so as you look down from the top it goes round in a clockwise manner. One speed, can't get anything big into it, pretty useless. The next one I liked from the beginning, a Princess 1700 fairly simple unit. I liked it and it worked well (no toast). Trouble is I wanted something that would allow me to toast so when you mention size think also about losing the toaster from the worksurface. Also the inner cooking pan when put in the dishwasher (Miele using Finish Powerball) it took all the non stick coating and went rusty looking.. What on earth is the point of having a cooking pan that won't go in the dishwasher! Third I have the Ninja 8 in 1 digital. I never cook big high items like a whole chicken, or crown stuffed roast of lambs ribs. I have the oven for that.
    My thoughts on the Ninja, yes I love it. No I don't want to cook 9 slices of toast at the same time, I am only 71 Kilos and want to stay that size. I use 1 slice of integral bread with 5 seeds. To get a light warm brown toast I have to set it on 2 slices and number 4, so this bears out what you say about the chicken wings.
    Steak: I have a cast iron almost flat pan. I preheat the oven to 225C for 5 minutes with the pan inside so it is very hot. With the steak I put it in a plastic container, liberally cover it with Avocado oil, black pepper and garlic salt. Leave to 2 hours (or overnight). Take it out of the fridge to get to room temperature (warm room) Take the pan out of the over and put the steak onto the plan so it sizzles. Back in the oven, 5 minutes, turn over for 5 minutes (depends on how well you like your steak) take out and leave it to settle for 20 mins. Enough space to cook jacket potatoes at the same time. Tender, juicy, that slightly dark brown outside to the meat where it has caught on the hot pan. Absolutely the best steak. Cooked several steaks and always juicy inside and crisp and the outside. Taste amazing.
    No more space for other things I have don in it.

      Sorry, me again. You did say teh Ninja was hard to clean. If you put the pan beneath the air fryer tray it catches teh drips and because the fan is at the side it circulates the air between the trays. Easy to clean.

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  3 роки тому

      I had this question come up before. It was somewhere between pages 8 and 13 in the manual. You do not need to use the drip tray with very low greasy foods. If you are cooking a pork chop for instance, it has a low grease factor and you don't necessarily need it. However, if you had chicken with skin, burger or anything like that, I would definitely use the tray underneath. I will read your other message in a moment.

      the thing with air fryer sizes is a deal breaker for many people. i think capability is more important than size. if you spend a lot of money on something solely because its smaller then i wonder why even buy an air fryer. if space is a factor then dont buy one in the first place. i dont have a lot of counter space myself. i have a small counter by my fridge where i keep my oil electric fryer and flat electric skillet. my air fryer is on my main counter which is an L counter. i cannot cook in it against the wall because it gets fairly hot. it has the same footprint as any other air fryer oven. its just taller. people will buy the ninja oven based on size but in reality it has the same footprint of everything else. its just not as tall. thats all it is. in reality the ninja is just as big as every other fryer, just shorter. and buying a larger fryer is not really that much bigger than everything else.

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  3 роки тому

      The cuisinart, is bigger than the breville. My brother was big, but it fit okay in the space. The Cuisinart was larger, because it sits in a corner which makes it seem larger than it actually is. I understand what you say about the Ninja but some people may find the fact you can flip it out of the way much more convenient and smaller. This may be especially true for people who may put such a device in a camper. Thanks for watching!

      I believe the ninja was constructed well and heated up fast. As long as you're not going to cook a full size chicken or you spatchcock that chicken, it's an option. The quartz elements heat up very quickly and I think it had the largest tray that was square, so you could just keep turning it 90°. My one issue with it was the fan was on the side rather than the top. So I considered this more of a convection oven and not an air fryer oven. It is a good option though.

    So how about the stains on the tile backsplash? Is that from your air fryer’s? You didn’t mention which unit caused those stains on your tile. Also, wouldn’t durability of a stainless steel product be important over a plastic unit?

    • @m3rdpwr
      @m3rdpwr  3 роки тому +3

      This is a fantastic question. Some of my air fryers have vents in the back, versus venting out to the top sides. The ones that vent in the back, are more susceptible to staining the back splash. I think in 3 years of videos, you may be the only one or one of two people who have noticed that. I think stainless steel is a great product that looks good. However not all stainless steel ovens are created equal. Some do actually stain, whereas the plastic ones are easier in my opinion to wipe down. I think the breville and the ninja stainless steel were pretty decent as far as being able to clean and their appearance. However, I questioned some of the other units. It's very easy to forget about the backsplash, especially if you don't physically remove the entire oven to do a deep cleaning of your kitchen. I also find that the air fryer ovens like the gowise and ommo tend to leak at the bottom seams in all over the counter top. The go-wise air fryers and the air fryer ovens, as well as many other copycats, have vents in the back which releases the steam and obviously some of the oils and whatnot. Thanks for the great question!

      Returned the Ninja, but $140 is the best price I've seen if that's what you paid.
      I returned the Cuisinart, bought another as the original had a crumb draw that wouldn't come out.
      I also now have the OMMO Air Fryer Oven that you can see in my latest videos.
      I like the OMMO better than the GoWISE AFO, because of the larger capacity, higher power and better control panel.

Only thing I could say is that your review of cleaning the Ninja, did not note that you can take out the drip and once it's flipped up, you can open the bottom and do a more deep clean. So, I was talking to somebody else about this. Turns out that my crumb tray is jammed and will not come out. I pulled on it hard a couple of times and it wouldn't come out. So, I returned it and I bought another one. I have yet to unbox it, but I was going to have a video showing that this one actually and hopefully does remove. Thanks for watching! By the way, it's now on sale for $160 at costco!

      To be honest, I usually give up after a short while because it's very difficult to keep clean. That goes for any type of oven for me. At best you can use a damp towel, but you need to make sure you do not touch those heating elements. there are some people who really enjoy keeping them clean, but I just do quick wipe Downs now and not worry about how dirty it looks inside. I just picked up a used SECURA for pennies but has no manual.I’ve cooked a frozen pizza and it seems OK. My goal with this unit use this during my lunch break in my van with my 2000W. power inverter.
    The ninja looks interesting for cooking pizza or other frozen microwave meals but one serious negative is the ability not to clean the cooking elements especially if your meal is stinky🐟or has too many hot chilies involved.

      Kenzie Swanhart, Director of the Ninja Test Kitchen, cooks beautiful air fried food live on air on QVC (view demos on QVC and UA-cam). She designed the Ninja and spritzes the foods first with EVO or your favorite cooking oil. Beautiful coloring and crispness every time! A newer version is an inch higher than the original. Mine is a 10 in 1 version but they now go up to 15 in 1 functions. You can watch several demos on QVC or HSN or on You Tube. Air Fry; Air Roast; Air Broil; Bake deserts or dinners, delicious baked potatoes; toast bagels or plain toast (program for up to 9 slices) dehydrate; cook sheet pan dinners with protein and veggies, and my Ninja includes a temperature probe to program your protein (beef, pork, fish) for rare, medium rare or well done with auto shut off and signal when done. No guesswork w/perfect results. I have several Ninja products and think Ninja products are Number One for performance, quality and reliability!! I also got my 10 in 1 for $170 and free shipping (normally $18.72)... Normal price is around $259+. I compared and searched for 2+ years!

    Can you cook a full chicken jointed breast & legs on the bone in the ninja. It doesn’t seem to have enough height to take larger pieces of meat. I’m considering buying one but not sure if it would be sufficient for me. Thank you for a great review.

      That's a tough one. You would probably have to spatchcock the chicken. If it was just a little too hard, you could push down on the backbone and break it. This would make it shorter. However, I feel it would burn on the top side.

      You bring up a good point. I have done that in the past. This is what I've come to find. If any air infiltrates between the tin foil and the bottom plate, it starts to blow up like a balloon. When this happens, the oil lands on tin foil, rolls down the side and then goes underneath the pan and then leaks out all over the countertop. I decided to stop using it because it was too much of a pain. Now I just make sure I clean the bottom catch tray after every youth or two. Thanks for watching!
