Thank you Randall. You are the first one that I've found to explain this. But however, I will have to watch it many more times before it totally absorbs into my brain. Hopefully you will continue on this journey on UA-cam doing this.
Somebody decided or measured the maximum chromas for each value, I want to know HOW. Also, do you expect to find a lighter and a darker pigment for each hue, or are some hues mixed with the home color, black, and white?
That’s where I get stuck too. I think maybe you just have to look at the completed Munsell chart and take their word for it. Also I believe that if you are going in incremental steps then there are more steps between value 4 and home value of orange which extends way out. So it ends up being that the vertical columns all have a descending order. Not just the white to black. It’s tricky. And as much as I’ve looked at James Gurney book i didn’t get even where those rows were coming from. This video helps. I’m a little closer. Hope what I said makes some sense.
Screen shot? You didn’t provide a clean image of your chart. There were large words or your handin the way. Please tell and show where you provided a good image. The best image i found was cut off at top & bottom. Nice idea.
I am sooooo grateful. This is the first time I have come across a video that explains Munsell in such depth, thanks for that, you made me very happy.

What is chroma?
Why is chroma value 9 at chroma # 2 ? Why is chroma value 8 at chroma # 10?
