- I've got to get this van out of the way. It was in bad shape when it arrived many many years ago. I should just tow it, but it would be a lot more fun to drive it. If I can get it going, of course!
you know the truck has been sitting in the same place for a long time when it has a street light mounted to the back of it!
I sure like that massive street lamp on the rear. This is going to be a great parts truck for sure.
The rear mount street light was a rarely seen option!
What would that have been used for?
@@kxbha664 Probably more light for working at night. Sucker must be bright.
Chevy n dte merged in the 70' was a real shitshow though kinda gotta, can see why it never took off
This guy is living the dream playing with all these old junky vehicles!
Huge reversing light is its best feature!
Works well on any street! 😁
I love that old van. It’s doesn’t want parts. It wants to come live with me. Lol
Or at least to save me the grille and buckets
This channel is an A+++ production. It’s always captivating. This guy has a great voice, look, subject matter, and is so entertaining. I call this a win!
I love that plow truck!
Jeez! Seems like every two weeks now your getting at least a thousand new subscribers. Glad for you Low-Buck Garage.
Your optimism is infectious
That streetlight at the back is cool. The engine almost removed itself. Brilliant! Nice running engine.
we had 3 of these in fleet between 73 and 77 beast of truck and it was still running in 1996 the 1973 one
First rule of moving a shit box. Never press the brakes…..ha ha ha
Another good one brother.
350/350 sounds like it’s time for a hot rod build love those old school blocks
I used the hand throttle feature in a company van to return to the shop when the cable broke once.
You get an outboard motor gas tank too.
Been sitting for God knows how long and started right up, got to love Chevrolet! I always love your videos you got a good sense of humor and a ton of knowledge and common Sense. Keep up the good work and be safe out there 👍☮️🇺🇲
The way he stomped on the brake-pedal before even checking the fluid, that must've been some of that "common-sense" you spoke of huh?, 😆
No point in wasting fluid if the master cylinder's frozen solid...
L
The engine can't wait to get out of that pile..... Great video.
Great vids mate. Hello from country Western Australia. Love your commentary and dead pan delivery. Fun to watch. Keep at it mate and I reckon you will get in the hundreds of thousands of subscibers. I did on the first vid of yours I saw.
Thanks, glad you like it!
Aussies and Kiwis love to say "reckon". I wish it was still popular in the US.
Love the Grandpa's back yard stuff! Cool videos.
Thanks 👍
that oshkosh is a beast. I love it.
Reminds me of something my dad would have done, thanks for making me laugh when I really need it.
Sanitarium green is my favorite color. Some folks call it seafoam, but they’re crazy.
For me it’s grandma’s bathroom
Looks like a special purpose thing? Man I would have suggested unbolting the door on the driver's. Plus when it gave up on moving it looked in my thoughts like you'd lift the front with the digger and back the Oshkosh under it for a jack stand to drop the motor. I might have tried unbolting the calipers ? But during the first movements that left front did turn quite free for a brief quarter turn. I had hope for ya.
That engine is a keeper! Thanks.
*That old Power Wagon is the coolest part of this video. I had a 53 Power Wagon for many years. They are absolute Beasts*
This content and video quality is of a channel 5 -10 times the size. The van body parts could probably be useful too. Again you are having way too much fun!
The vintage door! How dare you! 🤣
I was gonna say heck yeah, a mobile yard light! But then it kinda became a little less mobile... 👍
Very good entertainment, thanks for sharing 😊👏
We better be invited when you open the back door and sort through the crap. Lol
Definitely!
@@LowBuckGarage If you find any antique computers let me know!
sanitorium green !!!!! ha ha ha,,,,,,,,,,,a great sense a humor, that made your video so great,
Yeah I guffawed at that point too😀
I really hope someone keeps the 71-77 grill. those things are getting rare and expensive
I won't scrap it, when it comes off I'll make sure it goes to someone who can use it.
Old power wagon is the coolest!
My new favourite channel 🎉🎉
Thank you!
All of your different vehicles are like characters in some huge ensemble cast cinematic universe, with origin stories, key events and upgrades, and appearances in other characters' stories, too
Ok, the security light on the back is genius
Love your videos and your sense of humour, Peter form New Zealand
I wish I had that motor and trans. I got a S10 that’s ready for a 350. They hard to find around here.
Holy Crap! A Dodge Power Wagon! Haven't seen one of those in decades!
6:21 was the moment of discovery that it's not totally junk if it can run again.
Oshkosh rules Chevy. What a nice location too! Greetings from Victoria Australia!
Thanks!
I saw the excavator. Will it start? Use the excavator to remove the cab off the box van. That would be fun to watch!
Great parts vehicle for sure. Im in CT and the constant rain this summer never let the ground dry out, therefore soft moist dirt everywhere and good traction nowhere.
I love the absolute howl that ol starter makes!
Hey brother...I need those doors off that van for my 93 Chevy G20 hightop conversion van...my van has those ever so lovely power windows that I hate with a passion!...lol...I want to change em' over to the old school manual window cranks which your van has & as an added bonus yours has the old school outside mirrors as well so that's def a good thing...and...it's white...well...somewhat white...lol
The shrieks of that van will haunt my restless sleep for the remainder of my life.
Great video.
Those Chevy engines, they just start! You could pull one out of the woods and as long as it’s got a Quadra jet carburetor and a spark it will run!
That OshKosh is awesome.
storage shed with wheels, my brother had two
Need to tow truck, you is stuck my friend. U R GREAT! THANKS.
Pay $49 for a control cable for a mower I'm working on or do it the low buck way and cut the cable housing shorter as it was too long anyway and use an aluminum ferrule from a junk bike to crimp on the cable? 🤔 Yeah, the cheap fixed now way. No buck shed.
Love this channel
Thanks!
That was an awesome video. Gives my all kinds of ideas
Thanks, glad you liked it!
What a great adventure
That's pretty cool that it came with tires straight from the factory. LOL.
As always, always good for a few laughs.👍👍👍🇺🇸✌🏻
I love your vids... Sanitarium Green ... LOL!😀
I think you should take one of these gems to a dealer and ask if they can change the oil ;D
*"Transmission work forward, backwards", up AND DOWN!*
Imma bet that's a four bolt main. Definitely worth saving for a rebuild.
i like the street lamp on the back
A little love and a spit shine that baby will be ready for the road,
Yup, will buff out fine
Look at the date code on the tires. It will give you an idea
You need to get David Tracy to be your neighbour or caretaker of this property!
Save that narrow width 14 bolt rear axle.
The street light is a nice feature, is that standard equipment?
Pretty sure it was a high dollar option. Had to go to Home Depot for the install...
OMG that things a nightmare,,,,,lol & the belt screaming just adds more drama
I see now how useful a wench and pole on the back can be. Just put what’s towed in neutral, and you can pull up, and then back the towed vehicle in.
I thought you were going to cut the front brake hoses to get the front wheels to turn. Until you showed the rear crossmember, that pretty much stopped the show. ✌
That is where you cook your steaks, dipstick. 🤣🤣😂 I'm breaking your bearings!
the grill is a 1975 G 10 grill
It's not the "scurrying" you need to worry about, it's the "flying"! Ow, Ow....Ow Ow!! 😉
You are awesome.
Love You Man!!🍓😁
"Grandma? Did you happen to hit a telephone pole while driving Grampa's box van back home, last night?" "Why, no, Dearie. Why would you ask that?" "There is a Streetlight on the back of the truck". "Oh, MY!!" 😂
It's secure storage. Nobody can take anything
Love the van, chevys made the better van, i can think of loads of thing withe this vsn
Dammit... i need those mirrors
I think paint and rust is the only thing that's keeping that band together
I think you're right!
Great entertainment.
I see the fan was hitting the fan shroud but I think the shit was also hitting the fan!
That's not mold low buck, it's just moss from the trees being around it.
Those front wheels 😂😂😂👌👌👍
Something satisfying about watching a guy get a p.o.s running just because he can
That should be fine 😆
Is this your farm and are these all your vehicles or are you clearing out for someone
That's a "Uni-Cell" body, with a Whiting roll-up door in the back.
Sanitarium green 🤣🤣
Is that a 400 transmission or 350.
You could get a 350 350 engine/trans or a 400/400 engine/trans. What's that band have?
Pulling an engine out of a van front end sucks unless you;re planing to scrap the body and own a Sawzall
Might put a little oil in it.
Seems like lots of good stuff on the Chevy, but one problem, it’s a Chevy, and you don’t have, or buy Chevys.
That front wheel is "Spin Killington"! Argh! Just let it GO!
That thing sounded worse than a landscaper at 730am on Saturday morning.
Judging by the amount of rust on the floorboard, even if you couldn't get it to run you could just stick your feet through and Fred Flintstone that shit. Yabba Dabba Doo!
Nobody's falling asleep to this one!
i would love to turn that van into a ute lol
The van whisperer
7:34 sounds a little like an airplane.
"Let's see if it frees up as we drive..." Hmmm...
