When I hear people argue about who is the best bass player of all time I always have to throw Brian Ritchie in there, such an underrated master of the instrument. It's hard for me to say anyone is better than Bootsy, but Brian Ritchie definitely is up there for me.
I know most people here are pretty old and have been listening for quite a while. For me my dad took me to the 40 year anniversary concert in Hollywood (I already knew the really popular songs) now I know every single song they’ve put out. Haven’t even gotten out of high school yet. This is my favorite band.
That's awesome, So glad to hear there's a new generation of fans. Also that sounds like an incredible experience seeing them on the 40th anniversary tour.
Seen these guys 3 time's in Australia I'm sure that song about I saw her in the crowd it was my brother shoulders I sat upon yeah only song the bassist wrote but he looked he saw wasn't Byron was Bondi anyway he wrote that song bout me the bassist

Brian Ritchie is in my Top 3 of All-Time!
John Entwistle of The Who is #1 and Donald "Duck" Dunn of Booker T. & the M.G.s / Blues Brothers Band is #3.

I like others too, but Brian Ritchie is incredible!
Listen to Violent Femmes', 'Don't Start Me On The Liquor', and get back to me.
