The Kalimba has a vibe that is like the tough times are over, but there is still a sadness it happened at all. Like somebody died and you are finally able to keep pushing forward.

Just got one of these for Xmas. Super fun to play and if youre already a piano player you'll pick it up in a heartbeat. The tonal structure takes some getting used to but you come up with some interesting melodies every time you play it. Its like a music box you can play.

the kalimba smells like a breath of crisp air, if that makes any sense. it feels like the refreshing sting of a cool, damp morning. the world is bright and toned blue. it feels like it should be melancholy but it's peaceful. rejuvinating, even. that's the best way i can describe it

There's a beautiful introspective aspect to a Kalimba, no matter the song it invites you to look inside yourself for a brief moment or just look back on things differently. Perhaps because it's one instrument with a calm, subdued power to it, or maybe because it's one in the morning - Who knows

I love all these covers done on the kalimba, but down here this instrument has a distinctive style of playing which influences African jazz and guitar music in Zimbabwe and into South Africa.

I've heard it used in a cool way by a musician from Sierra Leone, Kondi Band, combines traditional and modern style really cool

I use mine to get my kittens to sleep they love it and fall asleep almost instantly
