I’ve enjoyed your videos way before I started stitching. I started at 71, and now I’m 72. My pastimes were quilting and knitting but became fascinated with needlework. I had bought an old Scottish cross stitch at an auction in the 80’s while living in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It was stitched by an 11 year old girl in 1819. After all these years, I remained interested in taking up cross stitch and now have joined all you girls, enjoying every minute.

This is the first time I’ve seen your Flosstube channel, and I’m so glad to have come across it. I only recently picked up cross stitching again, and Flosstube was something I wasn’t aware existed. I’ve enjoyed watching so many stitchers in this little corner of the world. I’m especially glad that I stuck around for your “sermon” at the end. Nice surely does matter, and folks just need to make it a habit. It gets easier with practice and keeps one out of that vortex of becoming a “crabby appleton.” I’ll be looking forward to our next visit. I think we are all members of SABLE (Stash Accumulation Beyond Life Expectancy) and flosstube videos are excellent enabling tools. Many times, I have to stop right in the middle of a video and put something in my cart so I don't forget! lol I just found out about a cookbook this year and sadly realize I have missed several years. I am so happy Carol Salt Box Stitcher mentioned your channel today on her floss tube. It is refreshing to here from a fellow stitcher of my vintage. I will be doing some binge watching to catch up. I am sorry you are having back and hip issues. I worked several years in an interventional radiology department doing cortisone injections. Consider the fact that it is a non invasive procedure with great technology and can be very helpful in the relief of pain. I hate that you are suffering when there may be help. Getting old is not fun but we could be so much worse off. Thank you for your videos and I loved your sermon. You are so right❣️

Marlene - so wonderful to see you again! I am not pleased to hear that your leg/hip problem is still with you but at least it is not getting worse! And Jerry is getting better. I have been cleaning our and rearranging and now have several drawers filled with linens etc that are all organized by color and size. If you need any fabric, please come and see me. I also have lots of quilt-type fabric to use for finishing - I would be glad to share with you. I'm hoping you will be able to join us again on the 21st. We have missed you - in person! Sandy I can’t tell you how much I have missed being there! This week Jerry had 3 rehab appts., two doctor appts. And a dentist appt. I had a doctor appt and two PT appts. This is ridiculous! My hip was getting better, then today I can barely walk at all. I’m hoping it’s this crazy weather and that tomorrow it will be better. I’m working tonight on Spring Frolic hoping to get it done before Easter. Blessings, Marlene

Dear Marlene, although we have never met, I do consider you a friend, someone special. You are an encourager , you speak joy even through difficult times - I know where your strength comes from.... in that we are sisters. We are so close in age and by golly, I think I'm 47! Marlene I have so much to say about this wonderful video. First... I would like to tell you how much your comment on my first flosstube meant to me. You are so right... you never know what such a small thing like "welcome... we're glad you're here" will do to lift someone up! Thank you for all you do to inspire us no matter what the reason is that you are here! Also... I had a similar problem with my back. I blew out a disc and my sciatic nerve was pinched for many months. I suffered through epidurals, physical therapy and ultimately a surgery but still have numbness and pain in my right foot. I find if I just keep myself moving carefully I find relief. I pray your doctors can help you find what is going to help you feel better! As always... your stitching inspires and delights! I’m cheering you on regarding your efforts not to buy stuff. I’ve spent this whole weekend going through my crazy stash. I’ve pulled, purged, and un-kitted. Styles and tastes change and I know I simply won’t outlive my stash. I also have evidence of not going to a retreat where there’s a free-be table in over 3 years. I’m going to one of the Frugal Yankee ones next month and I have about 3 times my usual pile. I also spent hours re-stashing floss. I haven’t even finished putting the DMC on bobbins. Anyhow, I am now obsessed with ONE pattern that I can’t find. I’ve loved it forever and it’s been out and visible for a very long time and now I can’t find it. Every time I see a new hidey-hole I get rejuvenated and end up with more free-table stuff but not the pattern I want. Why does that keep happening? I am so organized in all other areas of my life but not in crafting. Anywho….I also pulled about 20 must starts. Will I start one? Who knows. I am just not a starter, I guess. Hey there, I just found you and love that you Love the Lord so much. It is obvious in your voice and the way you speak about church happenings. My husband used to get gout attacks, they are ferocious. I've only had it twice. It is so, so very painful. I pray that your husband will become totally gout free in the near future. It is so hard to see our loved ones suffering from gout.

I am not just saying this, but I truly love to see your name pop up!!! Jesus shines through. You need to preach that sermon to the world, but I loved, "We do love the people who the things we do." I have no local stitching friends and love to see what others are doing. You took the words right out of my mouth about the sewing room. I just had to clean my up yesterday. I also started making a list of my purchases. How quickly Amazon and stitching purchases add up. I usually let a day or so go by and think it over before I buy now. Loved all the eye candy.

Hello Marlene! Thank you for sharing. I think Marlene's Sermon should be a regular feature. I enjoyed listening to you as I finished school work and then did some stitching. I never thought about the fact that one day my children (and hopefully grandchildren) will be able to watch visit with me. What a gift you are giving your children. 1, 4, 5, and 10 are hopefully lucky numbers for me! I can't wait to see what you started stitching on of the seven you picked out. Hugs and love!

I am so happy Carol Salt Box Stitcher mentioned your channel today on her floss tube. It is refreshing to here from a fellow stitcher of my vintage. I will be doing some binge watching to catch up. I am sorry you are having back and hip issues. I worked several years in an interventional radiology department doing cortisone injections. Consider the fact that it is a non invasive procedure with great technology and can be very helpful in the relief of pain. I hate that you are suffering when there may be help. Getting old is not fun but we could be so much worse off. Thank you for your videos and I loved your sermon. You are so right❣️

I celebrated my birthday just the other day and hubby told me to get whatever I want so my response was “I’ll just run over to Shepherds Needle and grab a few things” 😳🫣😂lol. For my only child…Only because I have 13 whips in cross stitch and about 50 quilty UFOS/ wips.

My cataracts aren't ready to be removed yet and I have trouble putting my makeup on too. Not going to worry about it, as long as I can see to stitch. ❤ Pam

Marlene - so wonderful to see you again! I am not pleased to hear that your leg/hip problem is still with you but at least it is not getting worse! And Jerry is getting better. I have been cleaning our and rearranging and now have several drawers filled with linens etc that are all organized by color and size. If you need any fabric, please come and see me. I also have lots of quilt-type fabric to use for finishing - I would be glad to share with you. I'm hoping you will be able to join us again on the 21st. We have missed you - in person! Sandy I can’t tell you how much I have missed being there! This week Jerry had 3 rehab appts., two doctor appts. And a dentist appt. I had a doctor appt and two PT appts. This is ridiculous! My hip was getting better, then today I can barely walk at all. I’m hoping it’s this crazy weather and that tomorrow it will be better. I’m working tonight on Spring Frolic hoping to get it done before Easter. Blessings, Marlene

I am very glad that you felt like posting a video to let us know how you are doing. I have always enjoyed seeing your finishes and what you are currently stitching. It was good to hear that your husband is doing so well and hope you are feeling better soon. Your sermon reminded me that I have a kitted cross stitch pattern that says Nice Matters. I might just have to pull it out for a new start or send it to you if you would like it.

Dear Marlene, although we have never met, I do consider you a friend, someone special. You are an encourager , you speak joy even through difficult times - I know where your strength comes from.... in that we are sisters. We are so close in age and by golly, I think I'm 47! Age is just a number , it's just at our age - you may get up to fix a cup of coffee and something snaps.... So glad you and Jerry are better, the Lord is not done with us yet! Amen Love you

Glad to see you again! I like the idea of writing down what you spent. I really need to stop spending but I love to kit things up and start them. I have a lot to finish and a lot to stitch so I need to stop kitting!! I must think I’ll be able to stitch til I’m 130 lol. Marlene I have so much to say about this wonderful video. First... I would like to tell you how much your comment on my first flosstube meant to me. You are so right... you never know what such a small thing like "welcome... we're glad you're here" will do to lift someone up! Thank you for all you do to inspire us no matter what the reason is that you are here! Also... I had a similar problem with my back. I blew out a disc and my sciatic nerve was pinched for many months. I suffered through epidurals, physical therapy and ultimately a surgery but still have numbness and pain in my right foot. I find if I just keep myself moving carefully I find relief. I pray your doctors can help you find what is going to help you feel better! As always... your stitching inspires and delights! I’m cheering you on regarding your efforts not to buy stuff. I’ve spent this whole weekend going through my crazy stash. I’ve pulled, purged, and un-kitted. Styles and tastes change and I know I simply won’t outlive my stash. I also have evidence of not going to a retreat where there’s a free-be table in over 3 years. I’m going to one of the Frugal Yankee ones next month and I have about 3 times my usual pile. I also spent hours re-stashing floss. I haven’t even finished putting the DMC on bobbins. Anyhow, I am now obsessed with ONE pattern that I can’t find. I’ve loved it forever and it’s been out and visible for a very long time and now I can’t find it. Every time I see a new hidey-hole I get rejuvenated and end up with more free-table stuff but not the pattern I want. Why does that keep happening? I am so organized in all other areas of my life but not in crafting. Anywho….I also pulled about 20 must starts. Will I start one? Who knows. I am just not a starter, I guess. Hey there, I just found you and love that you Love the Lord so much. It is obvious in your voice and the way you speak about church happenings. My husband used to get gout attacks, they are ferocious. I've only had it twice. It is so, so very painful. I pray that your husband will become totally gout free in the near future. It is so hard to see our loved ones suffering from gout.

I am not just saying this, but I truly love to see your name pop up!!! Jesus shines through. You need to preach that sermon to the world, but I loved, "We do love the people who the things we do." I have no local stitching friends and love to see what others are doing. You took the words right out of my mouth about the sewing room. I just had to clean my up yesterday. I also started making a list of my purchases. How quickly Amazon and stitching purchases add up. I usually let a day or so go by and think it over before I buy now.
