  • Spirit and Jewel watch at Pa de-feathers the large bird which is still moving. When he finally offers a bite they pull back as if afraid to take it. LOL

    We were out in our yard with our grandchildren when a hawk plucked a Purple Martin out of the birdhouse we have. My grandchildren stood transfixed, mouths open and watched the hawk fly off with the bird. I calmly just explained to them that animals can’t shop at grocery stores for their food. This is reality. Their Dad takes them hunting and they know you only kill what you eat.

    The 'kids': "Hurry up dad !! We're starving !!"

    No one ever said that nature is always pretty, it just works. It's the same thing your dogs and cats will do when they miss a few meals. However if you do not like animal behavior, don't own any and don't become one...

      Even a bird? All animals have instinctive traits that completely govern their behavior as parents. Some animals do not possess parental instincts of any kind some ,such as birds for example have extremely strong parental instincts because they offspring totally rely on that.

    I am thankful that people actually leave comments, which after reading I can not watch this video. Like someone else stated, we all know what happens in nature, and what these creatures must do to survive. However there is nothing wrong with having some compassion for the poor bird, squirrel, chipmunk etc. that is on the other end of beaks, claws and/or teeth!!!
    Thanks for the warning and comments, they were much appreciated.

But today has introduced us with the real nature. Of course the poor animal must served alive for their own chick,so it will be damaged after several hours. • @straubdavid9
      @straubdavid9 6 років тому +1

      Yes, but also a lot of the animals you speak of can be roadkill, or could even be stolen kill, or that they just die from the initial struggle. The crushing strength of each talon (provided by powerful leg muscles) is estimated to be at least 400 pounds per square inch (psi) per talon. I would say that it would mostly apply to animals they capture that could be a problem or hazard to their eaglets .... like cats/raccoons etc. Although a live duck could cause a lot of damage to an eaglet with it's wings, if the eaglets were close enough to it in the nest.
