  • John from www.growingyour... visits Master Cannabis Grower TD for 2nd visit this season to see how he plants his baby cannabis seedlings in a larger pot, how his girls for this season are growing, how he keeps pests away from his baby cannabis plants, how he hardens them off and gets them ready for outdoor planting without shocking them and how he builds an in-ground container to grow his cannabis plants so he can control 100% of the soil mixture, the nutrient leaching, and water loss. Finally, John will interview TD about building the in-ground pot so he can grow cannabis outdoors and he will share more about seeds and the genetics he is growing this year.
In this episode, you get the second update for TD's season 2 grow and see how TD is able to grow 10+ pounds of cannabis flower off one plant by building a 9 ft diameter in-ground pot to protect his cannabis plant roots from gophers and allows him to control nutrient leaching, and water loss.

First Episode • Use these Cannabis See...
In this episode, you will learn how TD up-pots his girls from the peat pots he starts the cannabis seeds in, up to a 2 or 5-gallon full-size pot that will be used until he plants his girls out into the in-ground container pot. You will learn which soil he uses and how he amends his pots with the best organic ingredients to grow healthy girls. You will learn why his potting soil is super strong, and he wants to encourage only the strongest cannabis plants to survive.
Next, you will learn how his cannabis plants are being grown outdoors in the space they will later be planted in the ground, and how he builds a temporary greenhouse structure to protect his young cannabis plants from the weather and pests. You will learn the kinds of insect traps he uses and how he keeps bugs that crawl off his table. You will also learn why he has a magnifying glass with his baby plants.
Next, you will discover how TD constructs an in-ground cannabis container, so he can grow his girls in the ground, but control 100% of the soil mix, water loss, and nutrient loss. You will learn how he makes it impervious to gophers, moles and voles, and other creatures that want to eat his cannabis roots. You will discover how worms can still find their way into his in-ground containers and why he lines them with hardware cloth and plastic. You will learn where he buys the hardware cloth and plastic.
Finally, John will interview TD about his in-ground pot and why he decided to build a 9-foot diameter in-ground pot when he normally only makes them 6 feet in diameter. You will discover why TD had to start his seedlings over and where he had to buy new genetics and find out which genetics he is using this time around.
After watching this episode, you will learn how to build the best in-ground container so you can grow giant cannabis plants like TD and harvest 10+ pounds per plant.

No joke the fact that he’s battling the outdoors to produce such big plants in a climate where pest thrive makes it that much more worth the yield. Making the best breeding ground for everything and the then trying to limit access while still getting sunlight is just insane. I mean calling that hole the nuke for one plant to grow in is accurate

Thanks John & TD‼️ I'm a new grower for medical reasons and really appreciate the knowledge you're sharing 💯 Trolls suck but like you said there will also be someone that thinks they know better🙃 Or maybe they sell and don't want others to have the knowledge your sharing 🤷‍♀️ I generally don't comment as most have no clue about my medical condition but wanted to thank you❣ Just learning how to find good seeds is a challenge😉 I don't have a lot of 💰 and have a small city yard, so no huge plants🌳 for me this first season in Chicago ❄🌬🌪 but I'm using what I learn and can apply to my specific situation❤😉‼️

I found growing 14 foot tall pot plants kind of backfired. Sure the buds grew massive. Like 40 pounds wet. But they slightest rain will make it all go moldy. Because buds that big cant ventilate enough. Even morning dew and you get bud rot.

I think it was wide but for me i train low without topping. bend the plant Sidways and grow for girth rather than height. for me by doing this i am able to keep the plants manageable without a ladder. But i do use a Scrogg to help keep the plant sturdy in the weather. Hope this helped you can see my results from 2021 at HomeGrownMichigan here on the UA-cam. Cheers, Martin

Thanks TD, John for showing us how to prepare for an outdoor monster grow.
I live in the southern california desert and will be attempting to grow a monster by following these initial steps. I will probably erect a (shade cover 30%-50% rating) for when we have heat waves.
And yes, there are gophers out in the desert. My cat killed the first one i've ever seen in the high desert. The wire you put in bottom of hole is a workways move. BTW, these gophers are weird looking. Their heads make up half of their body.

Science has shown that plants communicate with each other chemically through their root network. Why would you want to isolate the roots from other plants with a liner? I think that you can use this method for a healthy root system but I would allow root freedom and plant cover crops to hold the soil together and allow the root systems to support each other.

Those plastic pots really suck! You get poorly developed young root systems that hurts the plants and basically changes the roots forever. Roots are like a bullet that grow straight until they hit an wall bend and keep going that way forever. Fabric pots are important when your roots are young and getting them pruned and set up the right way especially when it's young. Roots are the key to getting ten pound plants. Happy trails guys! Your friend in growing the best!

TD SHOULD GET MY SEED, he will be able to plant the seed a day have it sprout outside in the cold. Mine popped outside in the snow early March in the snow... yup in the snow and freezing weather. Still alive and strong., now imagine if TD grew them in his climate

    • @workhardplayhard801
      @workhardplayhard801 2 роки тому

Why are you popping seeds outside in weather so cold that there is snow ? Here in Maine we wait until mid - late May. Been my experience that with the slow growth of colder soil compared to warmer soil temp in June , the warmer soil has explosive growth and seems to catch up , negating the early start.
I have also found that the more a plant is bred to please the consumer 🔥🔥 the more we move away from the original design, more susceptible to the elements it becomes. Why alot of the most sought after don't do well outside.
Why a strain like Magnum Opus was/is so very special and $80-100 per seed .

Great series of videos! With Ohio finally legalizing recreational we can have up to 12 plants per household. Do you have any recommendations for outdoor strains in Ohio?
    Thanks

Cannabis is one of the most nutritious plants for humans a gardener can grow. Worldwide criminalization was one of the $ lovers' greatest scams ever.

You need to plant the seed in the spot it will stay. Letting roots become root bound to any degree perminatly stunts the plant. I was growing 10 foot tall plants in kellogs soil rased bed and espoma and kellogs fertalizer blended. In a 3 foot deep by 3 foot hole never not one year no nutriant defichancy never. I never tried spreadind them out as the more you make the plant produce more the leval of thc declines

I’ve always wondered about this as we had a pond we filled in and I wondered if we could’ve filled it all in with just a huge amount of good soil if it would’ve been like a big pot. We could’ve even put in drain holes as it was on a hill

Awesome! This is very similar to my Sunken Garden method I use for growing veggies in the High Desert of Eastern Oregon. My beds are 4 x 6 and 12 inches deep and then layered with kitchen waste, yard waste, and then amended soil. I keep then a couple inches below ground level to retain moisture. I had the best yield ever last year with this method, so I dug 6 more in the front yard to have a community garden. Only difference is, I'm going to mulch this year and put timers on my hoses. I am doing another layer of compost and amended soil with my back yard sunken beds, with microbes. So excited to grow Purple Tree Collards and Malabar Spinach here this year, which I learned about from watching your videos. No one talks about it in my area, not even the Master Gardeners. My daughter and her husband grow Cannabis and I have been telling them how successful my garden is with the sunken method and I think they should try it! What a great video! Thanks.
