Looks Awesome! I was going to say I think your top side bars are upside down but looks like u turned them in final pic at the end. Im learning that the hard way! I restored the exact stool this week for MIL Christmas gift (original colors of FH red & chrome) First I had trouble getting the blasted sand out of step holes Arghh! Then I couldn’t get the steps to easily go in & out but Thank God for ur vid & my Live pics! So After scratching the legs all up near bottom ring now I’ll be touching up paint & turning my sides the right way today🤦♀️🤦♀️ (FYI- I kept my screws the same too😉 Also those thin swinging hinge bars on steps will maneuver & slide out if u ever re/paint)
I just saved one last night from a DUMPSTER! ❤ I love the restoration, but also really love the patina/look of it now, not sure what I will do with it. Awesome restoration!
Not only is upcycling fun to do people don’t realize how much of a difference taking something that would wind up at a dump or in a landfill helps the planet. And it’s fun! Great job my friend. 👏💕
Sales on hold right now. But made castle for grand daughter with her. Box with al foil tubes. Paint. Cones on towers. Outlined doors, top, windows with green rhinestone strips. She loves it! Also making simple doll clothes with her. She picks out fabric and lace trim from my stash and I make simple shift dresses, sleeveless, 3 pieces and Velcro. And she’s starting to let me teach her on my keyboard. Loves music, singing and dancing. Playing rhythms on toy drums, her xylophone , I started by ear at piano when I was 4 My protege’. Lol. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Very pretty!! Hot tip for keeping screws labeled and secure while working on a project...lay out a strip of 2" masking tape with the sticky side up ....as you remove the screws place them on the tape then place another piece of tape over them pressing down just enough to keep them in place... Leave spaces in between each screw or sets of screws/washers/bolts so that you can write what those particular screws are for...then when you need them simply pull the tape apart and tadaaaaa..... There they are, all together and labeled. Again... love your pretty step-stool. My Grandma had a blue one. ❤

Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much💗 I loved that my son wanted to help with this project and my hubby is such a huge help with my diys😍. I really hope you can find one of these stools real soon. They are so cute. Have an awesome day💗
I've got one of these in slightly worse condition than how yours started. That color is perfect for what I want to do with mine- The same step stool is used in Hitchcock's Vertigo, and it's about that same shade of yellow. I'd probably replace the rubber pads since I'd want to continue using it as a step stool.
We have room of these stools. One is blue and chrome and the other is pink with chrome legs. We have had them for over fifty years and they are quite rusted. Wish I had a sandblaster!
💖My grandmother had the same stool when I was a kid. I always loved, nit sure why. Every time I saw mone of the stools I think of hers. She lived in Mass. and we didn't see them often.
My grandma had a stool like that when I was a kid. The top step (the seat) was padded on hers. This is a neat makeover! It turned out really nice! Love the color!
I remember a stool just like that, ours was chippy white. I have a youth bed, or a bed that is between a twin and a full. It is not as long as a normal bed, hence why they were youth beds. It is sort of a daybed, I use it as my couch. It has been in my family for a bit more than 110 years.
Nice job. This is really cute! I have a vintage wooden step stool that one of my parents painted with all of the kids in my class’s names on it and my name and cute flowers from years ago when I taught fourth grade. It was the most meaningful gift I ever got and I use it all the time. 😄
I love your idea qof refinishing the kitchen stool instead of throwing it away like my family tries to get me to do. I have an old vintage kitchen stool that I've recovered several times, now I want to redo it but someone took the steps off of it and I can't find anyway to keep the steps from falling back under the stool and hitting the floor, I just can't find any way they could have been attached to keep them from flopping back, nothing to stop them.
I like you have many memories of this type of stool! It turned out Lovely! I would really like to find one. I did restore a metal tall plant stand, that my hubby wasn’t sure he wanted in his house it turned out really good. Also one of those old old metal gliders for outside. Mine was wood and metal. Very cute. Love your project Thank you for the inspiration and memories. Have a Great Day!
Hi Casey! Wow! That stool as soon as I seen it on the UA-cam feed, before I knew it was your video, it totally flooded back memories for me. My grandma had one. Isn’t it strange how that happens sometimes when we see something? It totally looked as if it had just about had it! I wouldn’t have had a clue on how to take it apart and put it back together. You did an amazing job! I love it so much! Love the color you went with. Very nice job! I enjoyed watching you do that. Take care my friend! 😊💜🤗
That came out beautiful, love the color. It's funny because my Vavo had one of those when we were kids but hers had a seat and that just brought back memories.
I remember my grannie having one of those step stools. You did an amazing job refinishing the one you bought. It looks so good in your house! Have a great day. Hugs from the southeast coast of Florida🌴😎💙😎🌴

I would love to find an old stool like my Grandma used to have!
I would check craigslist or facebook marketplace.
My mom had a stool like that in her kitchen. Hers had a backrest, though. It was a similar color to the yellow you used and the legs were chrome,
Adorable! 😍
i have exact same one i bought arts crafts only mine is red in my kitchen decor is 1950s love how yours came out tfs peace/love
Love it! My grandmother had one of those. Brings back good memories.❤️
Reminds me of my Grandmother's stool from my childhood!❤
Loved the color you chose. Lots of work but worth it ❤️
That turned out beautiful! Great job! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Dawn💕
I remember a stool just like that, ours was chippy white. I have a youth bed, or a bed that is between a twin and a full. It is not as long as a normal bed, hence why they were youth beds. It is sort of a daybed, I use it as my couch. It has been in my family for a bit more than 110 years.
I love this stool. Great job and the color looks beautiful. 👍😊
Hi Patricia🤗 Thank you so much💗 have a great evening!
Nice job. This is really cute! I have a vintage wooden step stool that one of my parents painted with all of the kids in my class’s names on it and my name and cute flowers from years ago when I taught fourth grade. It was the most meaningful gift I ever got and I use it all the time. 😄
Thank you💕 Awww That is such a cute idea!
It turned out beautiful!
Thank you, Jill💕🌞
Good job only thing I would have used chrome screws
I love your idea qof refinishing the kitchen stool instead of throwing it away like my family tries to get me to do. I have an old vintage kitchen stool that I've recovered several times, now I want to redo it but someone took the steps off of it and I can't find anyway to keep the steps from falling back under the stool and hitting the floor, I just can't find any way they could have been attached to keep them from flopping back, nothing to stop them.
That's a great restoration--it looks marvelous.
I love that stool !!!! Gives me inspiration to do mine, I have 3!!!
So what color yellow did you end up switching to? Great result!
Great job turned out so nice. I love it we had one when I was growing up.
Thank you! It's really cool that so many people had one as kids 😍

Hi Janet! Thank you very much:) I know what you mean. Isn't it crazy how a piece of furniture can do that. It totally took me back.

Hi Casey! 😊💜🤗
You did an amazing job! I never would have thought to take it apart. It’s so cute
Thank you, Mary💗 You're so kind 🤗
That came out beautiful, love the color. It's funny because my Vavo had one of those when we were kids but hers had a seat and that just brought back memories.
