This reminds me of my wedding. When I called 11 months before the wedding, having just set the date, he said he couldn't make it. I was relieved. Just like OP, though for different reasons, I didn't want my father walking me down the isle. But hubby and my MIL wanted a traditional wedding, so asking my father to walk me down the isle was a given. I asked my FIL. He was honored. And accepted. He'd never had a daughter, his second wife only had sons. He figured he'd just have to forgo this part of being a father. Actually, both my parents bowed out, which meant they gifted me a drama free wedding. I've thanked them often for this, but not where they could hear me, certain they would add unpleasant context I wouldn't mean.
Why didn’t her father stop all payments on everything seen that He showered her with love and spoiling her .all her life the least she could have done is to let her father walk her down the aisle, the good sister had the right to ask her brother to walk her down the aisle.
I hate these posts where the antagonists never find justice…they think it is OK and will continue mistreating people because no one held them accountable… I wish OP’s dad and golden child sister would have faced some type of punishment my entire life…. And, don’t forgive mom since she said once that she should have stood up for OP…she is toxic too.
Emma handled everything with such grace, even when her dad and Ashley tried to overshadow her. It’s inspiring how she stayed focused on her happiness and found support in her brother and husband. Truly well-deserved karma for the others!
Michael will always hate himself for walking OP down the aisle. Op should have forgiven her dad and allowed to walk her down. But now thanks to ashley, the family is broken forever. With both daughters refused to walk them down to the altar, it's no wonder he killed himself. OP and Ashley will be filled with guilt for the rest of their lives.
