Good thing that there are casino employees that go out to eat or no one in the comments would tip them either. Servers and bartenders rely on tips to live. Casino employees rely on tips to survive and even thrive because, at least, they get minimum wage. Servers can get as little as $2.13 an hour...no one can survive on that.
Dealers do get stiffed more. Most people know that if they stiff a bartender or waitress they won't come back to serve you or you will get bad serve. As a dealer you can't just walk away from the table and say you aren't dealing because you aren't getting tipped. You just have to keep dealing the next hand and then the next.
Heres is my gripes about dealers in poker. 1. Not pointing out the winning hand! Dealers will swipe up the cards so quick after a showdown that I can't see the winning hand and how I lost. I like it when the dealer shows the 3 cards on the board and pairs them with the 2 in the winners hand. This way I know if he won on the river, had me beat from the start...was he bluffing etc etc. Don't take up the cards too fast! 2. Call out the number of players in the game! If there are 8 seats at the table and 5 fold then say "dealing to 3 players" This way I know who to watch and who I'm waiting on. Players like to keep there hands over there cards and sometimes I can't tell they still have cards! This affects my betting. 3. House rules of showing your cards/bluff. If you raise and I call, I may not be calling because I'm winning, I'm calling to see your bluff. In some casinos, the other player doesnt have to show his cards and they expect you to turn over first, so they can just muck there cards in the case that they lost. This doesn't help me because I paid to see the other persons bluff. I've had dealers tell me I have to turn my cards over first and I'm always like why? I called him..then they give me a hard time.
Tipping 😂, love living in the UK, when I go to America they always look at me stupid when I don’t tip. It’s the bloody business owners opportunity to pay!
David DeVito That’s almost impossible to achieve in America as an adult in 2019. You don’t just quit your job and become an MD. It takes at least 8 years to make any real money as a doctor and then several more years paying off hundreds of thousands in student debt. Your comment really just shows how naive you are.
Go to a casino, LOSE money at that casino and then you're expected to tip as well!? Screw these dealers, your employer should pay you a living wage, it's not up to gamblers to pay your bills.
I play craps at a certain casino in my area and every time I go, I see the same guy there who always has an argument with the dealers and starts arguing about how much bets he had on a certain number, or how the dealers paid him wrong or forgot to pay him for something. He ends up holding up the game and it throws the dynamic off. I mean you see someone arguing with the dealer, you're like WTF is going on?? I honestly think he's trying to squeeze more money out of the house and half of the time the pit boss just says screw it pay him out because everyone else looking at him like can we get back to the game. I also hate it when people, usually drunk MF's, come to the table and start making all kinds of nonsense bets yelling out COME ON SHOOTER. The person is wasted and has no clue how to play the game, and the dealers are trying to tell the guy what he can and can't do at the table, like in craps you cannot place your own bets on box numbers you gotta tell the dealer to do that. I saw some guy in Reno at the Nugget do that and this guy was just super drunk and ignorant. Placing his glass on the table, reaching in during a dice toss. On top of that he starts asking everyone what each bet is. I'm over there looking at the dealer like either you're going to kick this guy off the table, or I'm about to color up an go play down the street at the GSR or something lol
I always win big at roulette and blackjack. Proportionally ofcourse lol. Walk in with 20-40 and leave with 400. I would take a 50 chip, double tap it on the board. Point it at the ceiling/camera. Then tip it to the dealer before leaving
I only tip the bartender, that's the only place where I get something back lol. I don't worry about the dealer, only the players who take the game too seriously, getting mad when you "make a bad play" I'll be like "I'm gambling here" lol
lol that's why I don't stop at the blackjack table anymore. To many unwritten rules on how to "play it right" to the ones who take it to serious. I love fucking a dude's day up at the poker tables by playing on garbage that shoulda been folded though. you wanna see a pissed off gambler, play a 7-2 or 8-2 offsuit at a hold em table and hit trips or something against their a-k two pair or whatever. lmao you'll never see an adult throw a bigger temper tantrum ever.

Most people In the casino make good money by the hour except for waitresses and dealers. But I'm sure the people behind the counter love it because lots of people tip them. They end up making about $15 or more an hour.
translation you are a fucking stiff who has never tipped a penny to a dealer as the people in the cage who deal with your sorry ass for maybe 30 second don't split tips with dealers.
Well, when you work in a place that attracts gambling and drug addicts. What you expect.
Everytime I play blackjack I place my bet and also put a $1 bet down for the dealer. Our fate is shared. I do this every hand. I call it the karma bet. Was just in Vegas 2 weeks ago too!
How did it work out?
If they treated me how they talk about people in this interview. You better believe you aren't getting a tip.
They absolutely do not talk this way with patrons. They're only talking this way because they've been asked to say what they really feel.
Please tip your dealer. Most of us like how we get paid and if you're a good dealer you try to accommodate a person's needs at the table; such as paying you the denominational chips they need or asking a supervisor to get a waitress for them. Even just being polite and putting up with shitty behavior is enough to merit a tip. We love when people win not only because we might get tipped but because we are happy to see other people happy.

Why all the comments negative? I legit didn't know they had it this rough lol
Thank you. Most people don't understand what dealers go through. This is just a minor inside look. But most people now a days don't care about others. I mean look at this negative comments. But to tell you the truth most dealer are just going to laugh at the awful people saying awful things because the abuse we get every day at work face to face is worse.
@@dorisgiron5149 Other people face the same when they are working, not just dealers. Dealers nowadays expect doctor salaries. If you know dealers, you will know how much they make.
Im a poker dealer in Vegas. Like that lady said 95% of the guest are wonderful people. Those other 5 percent however are truly vile and stand out. Its just the industry were in. Think about it. What kind of mind or life do u have to have to gamble almost every day. It really is an addiction. Also yes please tip your dealer. Its how we make a living. I wish our employers would pay us a living wage but they don't. They foot the bill to the guest. I don't expect a crazy amount. A dollar here and there for any decent size pot is fine with me.
True... I was a blackjack dealer for 3 years and you poker dealers put up with more crap than us blackjack dealers. I only stayed in the gaming industry for 9 years because of the tip $$$ . There were nights I made 1$ and nights where I made 4000$ all because of the tips.

Tips ARE NOT given for service. Tips ARE given for good service. YES... If your dealer is serving you well you should tip even if you lose. A little over what one would normally give is good policy after a winning session for a good dealer providing you with good service. Someone's position doesn't earn them a tip. the quality of the service they provide does. I've got NO ISSUE stiffing a putz.
No, they're given for service and then good service gets better tip. Stop being cheap and go play the machines.
2:57 is the reason you should avoid any type of gambling that involves human interaction, their thoughts will kill your luck. I've proved it many times.

why so much negativity? these people in the comments must be casino regulars lol
This is accurate lol fire alarms go off and players are more worried about the next card then a possible fire 😂
Well if you just bet a grand or something, unless you are rich that is a lot of money, if I was getting good cards and a fire alarm went off, that shit would piss me off.
People who have worked for tips are the best tippers. A stiff (somebody who doesn't tip) is a stiff. If you don't tip, you're a stiff. Don't think your friends won't notice that you're cheap. They do. That's a reputation you'll have to live with. Don't be a stiff.
Dennis Keefe you shouldn’t be shamed for not paying someone extra for doing what they’re there to do.
There’s absolutely no reason why they should get tipped at all
Casino employee here for those concerned about the tipping portion the truth is without tips we have the lowest wage in the entire casino. But casinos also have a huge tipping culture, especially in the United States. I understand that on paper tipping culture is not great, but it’s just part of the job. admittedly some casinos to handle it better than others, but I wouldn’t have it any other way

why should i tip more than 1 dollar in poker? youre not responsible for my winning the hand, youre just dealing the cards. blame it on your boss who rakes $6 plus every pot and doesnt pay you enough if that dollar i tip aint enough.
David Kang exactly! In decent casinos they can get a couple grand a day from tips on a good day yet they complain if one person doesn’t tip as if they’re not able to eat for a week from it
And here I thought Vice couldn't scape the bottom of the content barrel any lower than they have. Another amazing job Vice.
Some dealers don't know how to do their job (or they just don't care or pay attention) so yes you should tell them immediately when they make mistakes. Better that than waiting and having to go to the camera.
Don't worry guys, you shall all be replaced soon by robot arms...
You dont get why people play live games, do you? Video poker/Blackjack and Roulette have been out for decades...
$5 an hour?! Wtf?!
yeah...+4-500 a day in tips at any decent casino if not more. o promise they doin just fine and their job is a hell of alot easier than your local waitresses.
They never say anything about their bonuses, though.
I tip dealers based on their attitude instead of winning/losing.
Thank you! Some dealers have attitudes and are smart mouths. Don't know when to shut up. The attitude are getting worse. Don't like the job, quit. All the dealers in this video made a fool of themselves.
ohhhh you get tip wage. so does every other server and bartender in most states
Avery Newtown Judging from all the comments here, it sounds like a lot of people stiff dealers more than they do servers and bartenders.
@@jennycraigadventures3314 tbh unlike servers or bartenders i could care less. casinos are about making the people go there losing money, the dealer doesnt help in any way. they are just there to try and encourage you to lose more money. they provide no other sservice
Dealers can make as little as $3 an hour. They don't get minamum wage. Dealers rely on tips to survive.
I called him..then they give me a hard time.
dont micromanage poker dealers? you havent seen tournament dealers in socal, they couldnt count to 4 if we didnt help em.

If you gamble for a living dont tip, you dont make money tipping. If your doing this for fun, then tip.
