well crafted track
In my childhood years, this will never be boring for us of the 80's
That beat, that beat, that Township beat, That Soul Brothers beat! Repetitive, hypnotic, mellifluous, sensuous like the sonorous whisper of an illicit lover; irresistible, seductive and unashamed like an aroused coquette; molten and viscous like hot syrup; heinous, obscene and inviting like the open salivating lips of a vulva. This is the beat of sin, of redemption, of terror, of discovery. The beat that accompanied us from pubescence to manhood and womanhood. The beat that soothed our angst, and wiped our tears when we were wounded by the stinging rebuke of racism during the dark Apartheid and Rhodesian days. The beat with potent healing properties! We danced to it till our soles were red hot. But our Souls were never sated, we panted for more. We quenched our loins, our priapism to it! We fathered illegitimate children to it! We raised fists of defiance at arrant white power to it! We renounced heaven and Jesus because of it. This heathen, voluptuous, pulsating beat! This purgatory, heavenly beat was our salvation from ennui and tedium and a source of our valour. Our baptismal fire from bondage! Oh, you Gen Z, what do you know of sorrow, oppression and indigence! Of life lived in the crucible of vassalage! Our scars from the whiplashes of Apartheid and Rhodesian thugs are still sore and aching. But this beat was the medicine for all the hurt and humiliations that we were subjected to.........Hail to Soul Brothers!
