A lot of the writing seems to take the second season for granted, not just the reveal of her mom at the end. Snapdragon not being ready to take the transition potion, Sage not admitting her crush on Rosemary, not explaining anything about the villains or their motivations at all, things that they set up like something that they wanted to do but were saving the resolution for a later episodes to draw out the character arcs.

Despite Crunchyroll's horrible practices in general, I think the fault relies more on WB., since the Crunchyroll Originals project began when CR was owned by WB., and it seems some of the projects migrated to [adult swim], like Ninja Kamui that's going to premiere this month. When Sony accquired CR they put an end to all of the CR Originals, with the exception of Tonikawa

It’s a part of the video that I’m glad is in there. Let’s face it: If all you do is react to or review what is currently trending in the moment, then you will produce a lot of videos whose only purpose was to get views in their time of release. Moreover, you won’t be giving viewers anything they can’t find anywhere else to keep them coming back to your channel specifically.
I didn't think about the mermaids, but holy crap they were there when Thyme pulled the rot infested seaweed from the dragon's mouth and when they talk about the rot. I mean I can somewhat understand why Rosemary forgot about Redbud being there, not only because she did nothing in that episode, but I'm sure she heard about Redbud almost offing her students. Also, all fanfic scenarios I've written, I make Mandrake a lot more competent.
Part of the problem there is the scenario acts like nobody knows the rot is happening, or at the very least don't believe it or care about it, but isn't very clear in depicting that. Thyme sure acts like nobody believes her about her homeland's decay and that's why she doesn't bother even consulting the faculty; but really the rest of the script just let the scenario sit out there in plain sight- from whole rotted cliffsides in the middle of a walled city, to a chunk of faculty directly engaging with it on a mission- how could the audience not assume they're cognizant of it existing? In that regard Mandrake isn't out of line in assessing how much they've figured out about it, from if they know about it or have pieced together yet how it actually works- it makes sense for what they were intending, just not what they produced...and that's a common problem the show has in all A and B plots, we can see what they think they're doing but it's just not really what they put to paper.
@@gtf234 Yeah that's the big problem with the whole rot story and it never even gets addressed to a satisfying conclusion. But what I was addressing with Mandrake is that his whole character is treated poorly. He's supposed to be this trained assassin who loves his job and wouldn't hesitate to bump anyone off, part of that includes sharp wits, so he should know how dangerous it is to just disappear and let Rosemary live, he should remember how disloyal Olive is, I mean Smokeface being the intermediary between Olive and the Triumvirate he should have heard how she chickened out. I mean he knew enough to cauterize the wound Olive gave him. I used the wits he should have had to make him better at his job. In my mystery story I'm working on, he's like Kyoko Kirigiri or Maki Harukawa in Danganronpa.
I feel too fatigued to make sense of what happens in the finale, so I'll ask this: why does Mandrake remind me of a less intelligent Prince Hans? Well anyway, thank you for covering High Guardian Spice in your own unique way. And thanks to Cerra for taking charge of the editing.
and of course they end on a cliff hanger because every series now needs to end on a cliffhanger as a desperate hope that itll get them enough demand for another season

Mary Sues and Gary Stues only work as mentors because the MC is supposed to surpass them, or a villain because they’re supposed to be overcome. Not the Main freaking Characters.

Sometimes I wish Bad shows actually ran for longer just so I can watch other people picking it apart. Because watching people criticize it is more fun than the actual show.
Right? I had to unsub from mrenter for a while the resub when I heard this is the last hgs review because of him talking about this dumbass show so much. Love the guy and everything but there are plenty of shows with bad episodes he could've been doing review for instead of this one.
High Guardian Spice is simultaneously one the worst and tragic cartoons of all time. There were a lot of good ideas and interesting concepts that could have made it a modern concept. However, the creators were so focused on the brownie points angle that they didn't really focus on equally important parts, like making the characters likable and not bland, or setting it a parts from other similar works, or even keeping up with the series lore. Still, HGS, as well as any poorly received media, at the very least should be remembered on how not to write something like this and how to improve its faults.
The last part is good. I love the part where you said; "If Represention matters, make it good." YES! I hate this weak or badly pandering shit that hollywood does. Or as Southpark did it: "Put a chick in it and make her gay!" It's just weak representation that will annoy people more since "The representation is the charater" No you dunces. The reason timeless charater are timeless is because they are good charaters you can relate to. Sure having the same as you is great, but there is a reason why people keep rewriting stories about certain charaters over and over... cause they connect to them regardless. High Guardian Spice could have gone with a good and cool world, it had good ideas.. but it was clear it was shoved away for representation. And when it did... it costed them everything.
Final Episode for Now. Remember they gave Velma an additional season. Sadly it's usually more likely for companies to revive/revist a bad/tired idea than it is to support a good/original one. I like to be proven wrong though.
The initial number of episodes for Velma is the same, they used half of that for the first season. It was always getting two seasons, it didn’t get renewed for a second one. It’s like how Netflix would pick up a show for twenty episodes, but release them in groups of ten to get two seasons/parts/books etc out of it.
@@jbcatz5 Ah so it was padding things out more than anything. Well in a good show that probably wouldn't be so bad, you know giving everyone more time to work on it and all.
Well, they're already remaking Harry Potter and How to train your dragon. Both franchises that never went away. So - yeah, people that come forward with their own stories will always be important.
Honestly im with Enter on why this show is important. Sometimes, we need bad results, fumbles, disasters, to remember the good and how it can be done better next time. I found the whole thing fascinating because of how much it can teach us as we have learnt from the many channels whi have broken down the series and helped us expanded our knowledge on what makes good writing, animation, and worldbuilding.
I just realized High Guardian Spice had a 12 episode season to tell a story, and there wasn’t much story they did tell (no progress or development whatsoever); while Hazbin Hotel was given only 8 episodes to work with, and though very rushed in tone, it still told a complete story (first episode showed a conflict, last episode resolved it). 🤔 Within 8 episodes, I got the basic character motivations/goals and world building from HH, compared to HGS where there was little to no world building and only one character (Thyme) had a serious goal.
Tbh, Vivziepop hasn't always been perfect in that regard: Her webcomic Zoophobia had not started its main plot when being 4 chapters in; Helluva Boss started several sub-plots before finally settling on one (though it's still more episodic in nature). Web-artists tend to be a bit self-indulgent at time, if they don't have anyone to hold them back. The creator of HGS had the unfortunate luck to get his first idea greenlit before it was ready. But he's still young, so maybe he'll figure it eventually.
Did the shapeshifting guy reveal himself to the girls, then leave them with the guy he shapeshifted into to announce his completely obvious trap on the intercom....and he's SURPRISED the girls didn't go down there, when they just left the guy who most likely didn't have time to relocate to the other side of the school, nor had any apparent motivation to make everyone go inside the forge ?
It was great to see your input of the series Mr. Enter. Out of the sea of opinions about the show; its good to see some that don't just say "it's woke so it's bad", but rather pointing out the numerous animation and writing flaws. This show is such a chaotic mess but it's not interesting outside of its potential. It definitely could've used a few rewrites to properly utilized it's fantasy setting that im positive the writers didn't think much beyond the first draft.
"What if we didn't remember a single fucking detail we raised in previous episodes, and wrote a bunch of Plotholes?" "Brilliant!" "Brilliant!" 'Toasts with Coca-Cola bottles.'
you forgot to mention that amarylis gives instructions to students she calls "old magic users" , so are those kids who were studying old magic? is the school teaching old magic? i thought it was outdated because new magic was better, and if there was an old magic class why wasnt sage taking it
for the record a) shapeshifters should have no problems stabbing every target they have b) who thought this whole "combine old and new magic" idea was a good idea? this thing only exists because they ass pulled that new magic is hard to control thing OUT OF THEIR ASS last episode. despite the fact the school never gave any fucking hint that this would be a thing and heck IF THE SCHOOL WANTS TO TEACH NEW MAGIC AND THE HARD TO CONTROL SHIT IS AN ACTUAL THING YOU NEED TO TEACH THAT SHIT DAY FUCKING ONE because if new magic is hard to control you could literally just teach that shit immediately. but this show has 0 continuity
Funnily enough, I liked the ending reveal of Rosemary's mom working for the bad guys. Not the first story to do it, but an interesting idea nonetheless. The show could have really improved after this moment. Too bad that it came after twelve episodes of nonsense.
It feels like the creator or the writers didn’t know what story arc they wanted to write: Episodes (and scenes within episodes) contradicting each other Characters that switch moral compasses between episodes The main villain being introduced in the last episode And then the show and characters names not even being true Yes, networks won’t approve everything you want but you need to find a way to work with them and you know: not have episodes written like they were the first draft If they wanted to end it off with a joke someone could’ve pointed out that they’re named after herbs, not spices at least then it would look like they had planned something
This review series has been great, Enter. I really liked your final analysis, in some aspects I kind of feel bad for the show's creator, Raye Rodriguez, I think he had good intentions, but lacked the experience and didn't have the best writers in the world. The only thing I hope is that he manages to make a better project in the future
The initial concept looked pretty decent, but the execution and marketing hindered the show. I hope he continues to do more ambitious projects in the future.
I think what gets me and what bothered everyone else. High Guardian Spice is a product of Crunchyroll. A platform that makes you pay to watch anime, that you can watch for free just about anywhere else. What was supposed to make Crunchyroll different was it would bring out 'new' ideas. This was one of them, that people put money into. And no one bothered to, I don't know, make sure it didn't suck.... I'm sure if someone, with half a braincell paused to rethink the idea just a tiny bit, it wouldn't have been, this.
Well, thanks to this series and a Peruvian youtuber, a group emerged that is looking to make a continuation of that thing seeking to exploit all the potential that is wasted
i dont wanna write a whole essay so i’ll do points instead 1. appearently raye conceptualized this when he was a teenager so i wonder why he didn’t flesh it out as he got older and pitched the show in different platforms. 2. i think he suffered from loving his little characters too much that they become either unlikeable or shallow. its valid to slap them in the face when they do something bad! imperfect characters give room for development AND they become more relatable because no one is perfect. 3. a lot of newer writers struggle with making their characters develop before showing their improved versions for some reason. this is not the only one but its especially bad in this show. 4. its so valid to write minority characters especially if youre part of the group but make sure its good first before adding the spice (heh) okay? your character can be gay, black, trans, muslim etc. but they should be people first, especially if you want to give them stories like a cartoon or a novel.
Missed potential seems to be the best way to describe this show. They had 12 episodes to tell a story, but spent it talking about a whole lot of nothing, leading nowhere in the end. There were good ideas that were ignored and bad ideas that they went full force on, which just made this a nightmare of world building (if any).
You survived through the end of the campaign! The final boss is defeated, but the world will never forget the suffering they caused. Good job on finally finishing this series. I really liked your thoughts at the end there. The fact that you summed things up and gave credit where it was due (even if it is very little) was nice. And big respect for reviewing what you find interesting or just want to talk about; too many people chase trends and only care about staying "relevant". I respect someone who makes a project that they are passionate about infinitely more. Thank you for all the work you do, Mr. Enter; I genuinely appreciate it and can't wait to see your next project.
I get annoyed with every reviewer following the trends like yeah, sometimes I'm totally on board for what's currently hot but it's easy to get burnt out by it since everyone & their brother covers it. Mr. Enter is a reviewer I've been watching for years, I got interested in his content back when I was still working as an event organizer for a local brony group & that's back when MLP was still popular, our group dwindled around 2017 so I think I ended up getting into his videos around 2016-ish, give or take a year. While I most certainly disagree with a lot of his takes, I personally enjoy hearing difference in opinions & the passion he has behind his work is nice. I prefer somebody who goes with what they want to review rather than chasing the trends. As for the High Guardian Spice series review? I personally don't care for high fantasy, I like fantasy being adapted into other genres & utilized as a tool rather than a genre on its own but that's just my opinion. I enjoy the fact that Mr. Enter loves it & he picked apart a series due to his love of the genre & pointing out the things they did wrong. That's super awesome to see from someone who cares. I can understand that, you see something that can do better but it flops. I'm a fan of Miraculous Ladybug which is exhausting because there's a lot of good ideas mixed with bad execution & failure due to opinions of those working on the show. It's been self destructing but I love the concept of the series, I'm ticked at how season 5 wrapped up because part of my investment was the father/son villain/hero thing & they flopped it. Adrien deserved a showdown with Gabriel. So like I can entirely understand that point of view & it's refreshing seeing someone talk about their passion for something but point out how it got butchered real bad for a thing I don't pay much mind to. Thank you for being true, I'm happy to continue watching Mr. Enter's reviews, through the good & the bad. I remember some dark moments but look, I'm willing to excuse them because he's shown that he has grown & learned from his past. I'm looking forward to whatever is to come.
Being a fan of a series that has a lot of great ideas executed poorly can be so frustrating sometimes. (In my case, it's RWBY.) But that's where the best parts of fandom communities can come into play. Because as much as fandoms can be toxic cesspits, they're also the inspirations for a great many creators who can improve and remix and critique the IPs we love, and bring out the best parts to highlight why we fell in love in the first place.
Truth be told, I enjoyed these review's. Because I heard about this show so much, but just that it was bad. After watching these reviews, Yeah, now I defiantly see it was bad. And I would have had alot of similar problem's watching this show. (don't tell anyone about the assassin's in your school, ffs) Thank's for the review's. They were entertaining and well done.
I commend you for not just calling this show "wOkE" and ending it there. It's so annoying when people do that, especially since that insult stems from a complete misunderstanding of what the word "woke" means, which, FYI, isn't a negative word.
Good video man. BTW, since SpongeBob is going to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, how about you make this video similar to the one you did with the modern episodes of the TV show: top 25 best classic SpongeBob episodes.
I'm pretty sure that Olive was told to put the girls down, but wasn't actively trying to do that because she wanted an out. As for talking to Mandrake, probably the intent was to keep him from actually doing the murder long enough to take the shot? On the subject of remakes, you know I hold to the position that bad/mishandled properties deserve remakes more than good properties. Like you brought up Mulan, people generally already liked Mulan to the best of my understanding so did we really need it again? People generally like the Crash Bandicoot remakes, but were they really necessary when you could already get the originals on the PS4? You know what would've stood to benefit a lot more from a remake than the first three Crash games? *Twinsanity.* In that same respect, I don't think it'd be a bad thing if High Guardian Spice got a mulligan in the form of like, a "second season" that just says "Let's try that again." and starts over instead of dealing with the baggage of the original run.
It took a while and several pauses to get there, but now you can breathe a huge sigh of relief. Once you recover from any and all burnout, perhaps you might be in a better mood.
5:11 TO BE FAIR, if they told everyone "there is a murderous shapshifter in the school", it would just turn into Among Us and let the paranoia consume everyone 8:29 TO be fair, even more "Mature" and better written shows would BARELY even considered ways to put off the fire besides water. The whole "using sand or removing the oxygen" is the "too smart" option, for most average writers in general. The "spell that just puts off the fire" though would be a good idea 10:30 OKAY I am going to take notes from this: ACTUALLY make the audience feel investment over the setting. And that the setting is a character in and of itself
I wish High Guardian Spice had been good, I really do. There are so many interesting concepts that could have been great, but nobody in the writer's room had their priorities right. They cared more about representation than researching their material so they could do it with dignity.
To use TVTropes terminology, "High Guardian Spice" is "You Wasted A Perfectly Good Plot: The Animated Series", because that's what the show boils down to; good ideas, worst execution possible or no execution whatsoever.
It is always sad to see such potential go to waste. Shows like Velma never stood a chance, but with a lot of rewrites and effort HGS could have been at least a decent show.
I'm disappointed we're not getting more seasons. Listening to guys like you rip the show apart while knowing money was lost on the project has been most entertaining.

and like most tumblr fanfics we end with a disappointing resolution and an arrogantly placed cliffhanger as if they think everyone will be begging for a sequel instead of begging for it to stop
That's what makes me sad when original works fail. No matter their quality, every time one drops the ball in viewership, sales or reception, it reinforces the idea that only franchises succeed.
And that's the sad part. You used to be able to have B-list whatever, mid-high budget but you knew it wasn't A-list material. Now we get franchise blockbusters and garbo, no in between it feels
A Ending SO Bad it will NEVER get a Sequel
Thank goodness.

Wait is there like an article confirming that got canceled or some form of statement from the creator? I’m just asking I want to read it for myself because I’m just curious. It’s all right if nobody really knows.
@@blackprism5381 the last thing I've heard about HGS is that Raye Rodriguez is at least allowed to sell merchandise based on his show. I think he sells HGS stickers on Etsy
Toy Story 4?
A lot of the writing seems to take the second season for granted, not just the reveal of her mom at the end. Snapdragon not being ready to take the transition potion, Sage not admitting her crush on Rosemary, not explaining anything about the villains or their motivations at all, things that they set up like something that they wanted to do but were saving the resolution for a later episodes to draw out the character arcs.
you can see that was a lot of techinical issues during the production on this show, but the creator blamed alll on the buget. We need interviews with the other people that made this show.
Enter is finally free of this horribly written and animated prison.
Not like he didn't have the choice to not review this stupid ass series nobody cares about to begin with.
On to the next one!
Crunchyroll: And what did it cost?
Us: The trust and respect of your subscribers
Despite Crunchyroll's horrible practices in general, I think the fault relies more on WB., since the Crunchyroll Originals project began when CR was owned by WB., and it seems some of the projects migrated to [adult swim], like Ninja Kamui that's going to premiere this month. When Sony accquired CR they put an end to all of the CR Originals, with the exception of Tonikawa
I'm not even a subscriber. I've watched this show through its reviews.
Thank you to all reviewers. Now I understand Nostalgia Critc's motto; "I remember it so you don't have to".
Best characters in the show
Zinnia(the one who decided to leave the school because they dive into death missions before any training/also was hurt in the background of every episode)
Slime boy(is sans in theory without any of the fight skills)
Unknown centaur teacher(was spared from having any involvement in any episodes)
I like how Mr.Enter went over the reasons why he did this review series at the end.
Goodbye forever, High Guardian Spice. May this show rot in digital hell for the rest of eternity.
And now the Internet can close the book on this show, move on and never think of it again.
I feel too fatigued to make sense of what happens in the finale, so I'll ask this: why does Mandrake remind me of a less intelligent Prince Hans? Well anyway, thank you for covering High Guardian Spice in your own unique way. And thanks to Cerra for taking charge of the editing.
Because that's how he was written.
He seems more like a lesser Sailor Moon villain to me, complete with being betrayed by his own subordinate.
Mandrake feels like a badly written edgelord.
High Guardian Spice, also known by me as Rwby fused with Steven Universe's artstyle and the walled city from way too many fantasy animes.
And done very poorly.
At least Steven universe is actually entertaining
and of course they end on a cliff hanger because every series now needs to end on a cliffhanger as a desperate hope that itll get them enough demand for another season
GOOD VIDEO, SAGE is so MARY SUE that she is able to copy a ''complex'' spell with just one look, even though the last one who used her terrasphere lost control and killed a rotten sick dragon
Thyme discovers the rot she is spreading and yet she doesn't ask the teachers for help because she has to fulfill the ''lone wolf'' cliché
Rosemary is so stupid that she uses her sword to cut hair
Mary Sues and Gary Stues only work as mentors because the MC is supposed to surpass them, or a villain because they’re supposed to be overcome. Not the Main freaking Characters.
High guardian spice is like a textbook of how to not write a story. It is like a training manual of common and uncommon beginner mistakes. This show has no value aside from an educational standpoint of how to not make a show.
If you wanna see a slighty similar concept to HGS that works, I'd say roserio+vampire, so long as your ok with fanservice and a large deviation from the manga.
@@rossjohnstone4689 i have already seen rosario and vampire. The anime adaption was okay. They should make another anime adaption that stays true to the manga.
@@kalzium8857 ya, I heard it was very different from the manga, but I still found it enjoyable and funny. I have yet to read the manga, but I plan to.
Sometimes I wish Bad shows actually ran for longer just so I can watch other people picking it apart. Because watching people criticize it is more fun than the actual show.
I heard Velma has a second season.
And here we are. Thank goodness it's over
I love the part where you said; "If Represention matters, make it good."
YES! I hate this weak or badly pandering shit that hollywood does. Or as Southpark did it: "Put a chick in it and make her gay!"
It's just weak representation that will annoy people more since "The representation is the charater"
No you dunces.
This short show fell down the stairs of a mountain side monastery and didn't bother with calling for help once it got to the bottom.
6:36 okay that part with Amaryllis and Snapdragon is actually kinda sweet
Nothing beats coming back from work and watching a new Mr. Enter video.
Quick fact: The author owns a cat and so insisted on having a character based on her.
That's Olive, Raye (the creator of the show) owns a cat named Olive and he decided to put her in, that's why Olive was "redeemed" at the end.
@@guerreiroazul3230 Why am I not surprised the author self inserted/mary sue'd their own pet.

STOP THE CAR! GIMMIE THAT AGAIN.

If Astur is Rosemary's first crush, WHY DOES SAGE ACT LIKE SHE'S SEEN THIS BEFORE!!!??!!!
@@larrylaffer3246 One can hope the people making it massively tone down the title character being horrible, but with Mindy who knows.
So it doesn't end with Judge Doom using the Dip to melt the entire world? Dangit!
I guess saying that High Guardian Spice is at least and original IP is what we call "damning with faint praise"
Within 8 episodes, I got the basic character motivations/goals and world building from HH, compared to HGS where there was little to no world building and only one character (Thyme) had a serious goal.
8:17
Tbh, the "using water magic to put out a library fire" could've honestly built up to a hilarious joke afterwards. XD
The not so grand finale
After finally going through this mess of a show
Honestly I’ve come out feeling sorry for it
"What if we didn't remember a single fucking detail we raised in previous episodes, and wrote a bunch of Plotholes?"
"Brilliant!"
"Brilliant!"
'Toasts with Coca-Cola bottles.'
you forgot to mention that amarylis gives instructions to students she calls "old magic users" , so are those kids who were studying old magic? is the school teaching old magic? i thought it was outdated because new magic was better, and if there was an old magic class why wasnt sage taking it
I think this should have been your 200th episode, just a review of every episode of the show.
for the record
a) shapeshifters should have no problems stabbing every target they have
b) who thought this whole "combine old and new magic" idea was a good idea? this thing only exists because they ass pulled that new magic is hard to control thing OUT OF THEIR ASS last episode. despite the fact the school never gave any fucking hint that this would be a thing and heck IF THE SCHOOL WANTS TO TEACH NEW MAGIC AND THE HARD TO CONTROL SHIT IS AN ACTUAL THING YOU NEED TO TEACH THAT SHIT DAY FUCKING ONE because if new magic is hard to control you could literally just teach that shit immediately. but this show has 0 continuity
Funnily enough, I liked the ending reveal of Rosemary's mom working for the bad guys. Not the first story to do it, but an interesting idea nonetheless. The show could have really improved after this moment.
Too bad that it came after twelve episodes of nonsense.
It feels like the creator or the writers didn’t know what story arc they wanted to write:
Episodes (and scenes within episodes) contradicting each other
Characters that switch moral compasses between episodes
The main villain being introduced in the last episode
And then the show and characters names not even being true
Yes, networks won’t approve everything you want but you need to find a way to work with them and you know: not have episodes written like they were the first draft
If they wanted to end it off with a joke someone could’ve pointed out that they’re named after herbs, not spices at least then it would look like they had planned something
Finally, the end.
Gonna miss these videos !
We still remember this show. It is still brought up frequently enough.
Getting an Enter's video saga on this was expected.
And it was a great saga.
The pain is finished.
We finally made it. We survived!
I genuinely forgot that this was a thing.
Frankly I prefer reviews after the heat and hype dies down. It feels more genuine and objective
Well, thanks to this series and a Peruvian youtuber, a group emerged that is looking to make a continuation of that thing seeking to exploit all the potential that is wasted
i dont wanna write a whole essay so i’ll do points instead
1. appearently raye conceptualized this when he was a teenager so i wonder why he didn’t flesh it out as he got older and pitched the show in different platforms.
2. i think he suffered from loving his little characters too much that they become either unlikeable or shallow. its valid to slap them in the face when they do something bad! imperfect characters give room for development AND they become more relatable because no one is perfect.
3. a lot of newer writers struggle with making their characters develop before showing their improved versions for some reason. this is not the only one but its especially bad in this show.
4. its so valid to write minority characters especially if youre part of the group but make sure its good first before adding the spice (heh) okay? your character can be gay, black, trans, muslim etc. but they should be people first, especially if you want to give them stories like a cartoon or a novel.
It feels strange to be this early... 😮
You're right John, diversity needs to be done right.
Criag of the creek: am I a fucking joke to you?
@@ilove2draw322 That’s diversity done right. It ain't a joke.

I'm going to miss this series. I like the style of reviewing these on an episode by episode basis.
“It’s warm, and it’s funny, and they’re letting us make it a little weird.”
Well they got the last one right at least.
Mean, lame, a little weird...Yeah, checks out.
Truth be told, I enjoyed these review's. Because I heard about this show so much, but just that it was bad. After watching these reviews, Yeah, now I defiantly see it was bad. And I would have had alot of similar problem's watching this show. (don't tell anyone about the assassin's in your school, ffs)
Thank's for the review's. They were entertaining and well done.
I commend you for not just calling this show "wOkE" and ending it there. It's so annoying when people do that, especially since that insult stems from a complete misunderstanding of what the word "woke" means, which, FYI, isn't a negative word.
Amen on that sentiment, especially with the second statement in particular!
There has never been a word butchered more than the word "Woke"
The word has completely lost it's meaning at this point.
They really saw double trouble from she-ra and went “let’s take that and make it worse”
Good series Mr. Enter, glad you finished it.

We'll find out on the next episode of High Gardenia Herbal school
It took a while and several pauses to get there, but now you can breathe a huge sigh of relief. Once you recover from any and all burnout, perhaps you might be in a better mood.
Onyx Equinox might make an interesting review.
Episode 12 is the best episode because it’s what finally ends this horrible anime
Your suffering has ended John you could finally take a break from this horrible show.
Great to see the end of this review series. As fun as this has been, it’s disappointing that it’s over
5:11 TO BE FAIR, if they told everyone "there is a murderous shapshifter in the school", it would just turn into Among Us and let the paranoia consume everyone
8:29 TO be fair, even more "Mature" and better written shows would BARELY even considered ways to put off the fire besides water. The whole "using sand or removing the oxygen" is the "too smart" option, for most average writers in general. The "spell that just puts off the fire" though would be a good idea
10:30 OKAY I am going to take notes from this: ACTUALLY make the audience feel investment over the setting. And that the setting is a character in and of itself
Good job John, these were well written reviews.
I wish High Guardian Spice had been good, I really do. There are so many interesting concepts that could have been great, but nobody in the writer's room had their priorities right. They cared more about representation than researching their material so they could do it with dignity.
Im glad your sanity is still intact! Was a fun ride
Let's get this thing over with.
i just recently rembered that you had a video series about hgs
There was so much wasted potencial with this show
Shame the series is now over. I have enjoyed watching the episode-by-episode reviews.
To use TVTropes terminology, "High Guardian Spice" is "You Wasted A Perfectly Good Plot: The Animated Series", because that's what the show boils down to; good ideas, worst execution possible or no execution whatsoever.
About time!
