I was with the 101st and I was heading back to Iraq in 2003. We were waiting for our flight in Atlanta's airport. When I looked up there was Jerome, and I went up to him and asked for his autograph. He was such a great guy that made my day. Thank you Jerome for taking your time, being so easy to talk to, and giving me your autograph!
The Bus did not disappoint! He was great and showed up right on time….episode #36!!! Awesome chemistry and banter between Big Ben and Jerome. Thank you, Ben, for giving us the gift of your Footbahlin podcast. I look forward to it every week. I hope you will do more seasons. God bless you!
This podcast video is up there with Coach Cower as the best one yet, Hearing Jerome talk football and the famous fumble , and OT coin toss was awesome looking forward to many more Great videos and guests
BEN! This is so cool. You can tell you and the BUS are truly friends! The banter back and forth reminds me of my immediate and my friends, and we’ve been life long friends. You and Spence are doing great things. Thank you guys! My company would like to sponsor you😉
My wife and I ran into Jerome at a music store in a mall in Jacksonville in 1996. The Steelers were there before the Monday Night game just hanging out. Ben's statement that Jerome is a true professional is spot on. He was so nice to a couple starry-eyed fans that day. It made our trip.
Jerome “The Bus “ Bettis story on HOF was awesome, his rookie QB Big Ben telling him he will get to superbowl next head if he comes back was great story I’ll never forget that year as Steelers fan the run to the superbowl and winning the Super Bowl was amazing year and one of the best teams in football especially the Defense
Actually my fave is the clip they have on NFL films where Bus is telling rookie (Baby Ben 2004!) Ben "it's no big deal - it's just football" and Ben repeated it. They are so gold together!
@Justin-to3bk #43 for steelers? Only players I can think of that wore 43 for them was George Jones and Frank Lewis. That must be who he's talking about.
2 of my favorite Steelers ever!!!!!! Wish we had these two playing again!!! Living legends. Met the bus at the 2005 camp at Latrobe n said get me a Super Bowl your my fav player n he laughed & said I’ll try to and he talked to me and my dad for a few mins then went on to doing autographs. Bens the man too!!! Miss seeing them both out there on sundays man. Those years was the best never be the same!!
It was an honor and a pleasure meeting both of you on different occasions. meeting Jerome at the ESPYS and met Ben his rookie year leaving the David Letterman show
I had a similiar Bad injury 😞 long ago . YOU Hang in n stay Focused on what your goals are n Try to stay positive as hard as that can be some days .. My prayers n hopes are that you heal well n swiftly !! God Bless .. Goooo Steelers 😎
This episode and the one with Coach Cowher are my personal favorites. "Bussie" is a gem of a human, funny yet serious with the things he has done and is doing in his life during and after football. This life-long "Stillers" fan was so happy when you guys got him on the show. 👏👏👏
These two men dono how much joy they brought me. An how many memories and how many times my brother would be Bettis and id Ben or Heinz. Just so thankful to get to say they was my era steelers
I waited patiently for this episode. The Bus didn't disappoint. Jerome is forever a steeler. I still can't believe the Rams let this man leave. Whatever happened in LA, I'm glad it did.
Absolutely, best episode so far. As a diehard Steelers fan, y'all made me feel like I was a part of that relationship. Love it! I know he's crazy busy, but let's get RC on
Being able to see that SB win as a little kid (around 8 years old) was one of the best things that could ever happen to me. Seeing Jerome and Ben's story moved me a lot. I played football for 8 years after this, all thanks to 'The Bus'. I will thankful for living this side by side with my father, and I will always be a Steeler fan.
What a great human! Storyteller! And individual. Jerome oozes charisma! I loved listening to him talk. And the jolliness and excitement with which he talks! What a joy just to listen. Ah, love you Bus. Thanks for taking us all on a wonderful ride for all these years. You the man, #36.
Man this was definitely one of the best ones yet!!!! Just when I thought some couldn’t be topped y’all did it again!!!! Jerome Bettis was literally childhood idol & favorite football player!!! He made me feel like I could do it too. I was the thicker RB in my peewee days because I knew if Jerome could do it so could it & I modeled myself after him & was a mauler!!! Man I appreciated this interview being able to see my favorite Running back of all time w my favorite QB just being themselves was like a dream come true. Felt like I was sitting on the couch just watching. So happy for this one man!! Jerome is hilarious & just as funny, humble & down to earth as I imagine. What a guy man. Thank you all for this classic. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!
I was a huge Jerome fan at ND, even though I hated ND (haha). I will never forget his game against Florida. When he came to Pittsburgh, it was a blessing! My fave all-time player is Thurman Thomas (with Ben right there too as 1A, though I don't know if I can put Ben below anyone!!!), but I always had Bus up there in that pantheon. I just love too that he was duking it out for LB supremacy with the great Pepper Johnson! I LOVE Pepper!
The best episode, hands down ! Watching the interaction of two friends getting back together is awesome. Thanks for this one, especially , but great job throughout. 🍻🍻
man frickin' iconic and had me being a fangirl haha. always find myself watching those early 2000 Steeler highlights being a Steeler fan and just the hype and the storylines and the behind the scenes stories it's just immaculate lol
i never got to watch during the Bus era, but always knew he was a great player, now i know he’s an even better human being. thanks to all 3 of you guys for putting this together one of the best episodes so far!! we jus need troy so we can break the internet !!!
I adore The Bus so much. He’s always been my favorite player. Watching his Super Bowl season and being able to attend his final home game and scream with the crowd “one more year!” was so special to me as a 15 year old. I also met him recently as an adult and he was so cool, chill, and so kind. I will always love him.
True Steelers..2 legends 4eternity. I'm not a Cryer but that moment talking about Ben giving the gameball to the bus I found myself in tears..greatness...Big7Ben...the Bus36..hof
Thank you for these opportunities to hear real conversation among all the steeler greats! Hilarious episode, already can't wait for The Bus to come back.
Absolutely loved loved loved this episode. Jerome was one of the main reasons i became a Steelers fan as a kid. He's my all time favorite Steeler. That story about him possibly becoming a TN Titan is crazy. Amazing how things play out!
You gentlemen, including Spence & Chef, have a truly great spirit! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us! You're allowing Steelers Nation a look behind 'The Steel Curtain!!' 🖤💛🏆🏆

Love you Ben. Appreciate the work you do also Spence🙏🏻 this was an amazing episode. I was a bit too young to remember seeing Bus play but I’ve seen almost every one of his games nonetheless
Unbelievable! Life long Steeler and Notre Dame fan. I have never before watched an episode. My wife told me Jerome was on...I am now a devoted listener/viewer! The day the trade was made in '96 I told all who would listen, it was the best trade the Steelers ever made. That remains true to this day! Love this show!!
Man... no Steeler I love more, in my life time, than Jerome. The guy is basically made of gold. Talent.. personality.. charisma.. gold. That last nugget from Jerome.. paying forward the example of how to lead the team.. through a shinning example of being a great leader.. THAT is what makes Steeler football. Off topic.. anyone else watching Josh Dobbs putting a beating on Dallas and thinking.. wtf.. lol
I was with the 101st and I was heading back to Iraq in 2003. We were waiting for our flight in Atlanta's airport. When I looked up there was Jerome, and I went up to him and asked for his autograph.
