Holy crap this build is gnarly af bro it’s been a minute since I caught your videos just caught up on all the e36 stuff makes me want to build a drift car now
Honestly the E36 platform is awesome. It’s essentially a German straight 6 Honda civic, parts are a little hard to find for body panels depending where you live. But mechanically everything is readily available, plenty of support and they are such good driving cars. So smooth
I have an E82 2013 128i with the N51 SULEV engine, the GM six speed auto, and I have about five turbochargers in my garage that would fit that engine PERFECTLY, but no room under the hood to mount it. My idea is either to mount it way down under the engine (which won't be possible with the 2" H&R lowering springs), or where the muffler is on the Magnaflow exhaust. It currently has an AFE Stage 4 cold air intake, a set of Active Autowerke stainless headers, an Active Autowerke tune, and a Magnaflow exhuast. It doesn't sound like much, but the headers were $750, the intake was $450, the tune was $550 (with the tuning cable), and the exhaust was $1400...not to mention the cost of the car at $400 a month...yes, I'm not a millionaire, so I had to finance my first newer more reliable car in years. I have a real Garrett GTS3582 dual ball bearing turbo with a billet compressor wheel that would work great with this engine, but I'm nervous about the oiling system. I found a set of 1000cc injectors for my engine for like $650, but I don't know anyone who can tune my DME. I live near Pittsburgh and I'm not trying to ship my DME to someone to get a base tune. Any ideas?
To be honest I have zero experience on that platform. My only bmw experience is a little of the G80 platform, and just E36’s so far. As far as the turbo, just hire a local fabricator maybe to build you a manifold setup to work with that turbo. Puking is easy, just T off a feed source like your stock oil PSI sensor or vanos line if you have one. Drain just goes to the pan
Chaos calibrations is what I have tuned all my bmws through I spoke to them about a month ago about n51/n52 tuning support and they said they are working on it and to expect it mid next year. I have a built m50b30 car I’m buttoning up currently with 850cc injectors, s58 coils, custom comp pistons, rods and twin gt2871r’s

You definitely should haha. Drifting has really changed my whole car life, and given me an entirely new outlet and friend group. It’s so much fun
@ yeah I bet it has I’ve been looking for something else to put my time into since I sold my integra so this would be another step for me as well
