Geno said top 4. It's not just her physical talent. She has Magic Johnson instincts. She sees things before it happens on the floor. Like he did. She was player of the year her freshman year. Never been done before. If she sees one opposing player take a wrong step It's a shot for her or a teammate. She can play the 1 the 2 the 3 and the 4.
Maybe people (who don't live in CT) don't understand the dynamic that is going on in CT. No other women's team has what WE HAVE! What is that? We have a National Championship men's team!!! That team is now working to garner the National Championship for the second time! CT is a small State that has had a basketball culture for decades. Here's what it's like living here. This week I went hiking with my group, miles from where I live. We hiked 6 miles through woodlands in the central/west area of the State. We didn't see anyone until, until a man walking with his dog came along and he was wearing a UCONN HUSKY jacket! We all celebrated and our hike leader said, "Hey we have Husky fans here!" Remember that picture of Emeka Okafor and Diana Taurasi on the cover of "SPORTS ILLUSTRATED" magazine? Get ready. I'm hoping for a "Paige Bueckers and Triston Newton" cover on "SPORTS ILLUSTRATED" comiing soon!
The best thing the Syracuse Athletic Committee is hiring that coach. I can only imagine if she was hired three years sooner with the players that they have along with Fair.
Paige won’t be on the UConn Mount Rushmore without a title. No discussion if she doesn’t have that achievement. Another player of the year award could help her too. Right now she is in the 6-10 range.
UCONN vs DUKE...a grind out win. That's what this game was. Low scoring and Ashlynn didn't score at all. Very few 3s and all kids of mistakes on both sides. Near the end, Duke caught up and really threatened the win. But, we won.
Paige's greatness is so much more than the sum of her stats. Of course the telemetry is a good indicator, but it is what Paige does when she is not scoring points or blocking shots that makes her one of the greatest to play the game. I'll say it again, I can count on one hand how many athletes changed their sport like no other; Nadia Comaneci, Arthur Ash, Lawrence Taylor, Michael Jordan come to mind. Paige's game is so good that it elevates EVERYONE on the court, even the opposition. Without Paige Bueckers, UConn WBB would barely be a 500 team this year...and that is AFTER missing more than 500 days. And here is the crazy-scary part. She is just getting started, folks. Paige only get's better from here. Peace!
She might have to play in Muhl's spot if she keeps fouling out against good teams. Great game for KK. Clutch shot and nice rebound basket. Great defense.
@@Paul15. KK makes a lucky 3 as time was winding down and UCONN ahead. KK continues to be an out of control waste that continues to make the poorest selection of shots.
There is no comparison between CC and Paige. None. CC has not led her team to ONE National Championship. She's treated as "the best" bla, bla, bla. Can she score? Absolutely. So? Can she win National Championships? Not yet and she's had 3+ years to try and has failed. Common people. There's no comparison of Paige Bueckers to any other player. Geno (winner of 11 National Championships) said, "Paige is the best player in the country.". That's all you need to know.
This comment is for huskie fans to listen to. Every since Morgan Valley burnt sage Nika didn't like it however she went on an assist spree enough to break the UCONN assist record. So even though the sage stuck up the place this may of had some effect on Nika.

2 anni, e allora? Forse il suo talento ne risulta diminuito? Ricorda il suo anno da freshman, in una squadra con 3 senior e 7 freshman. She takes this team all the way now and then
I think the discussion here is based on talent alone… Paige came to UConn with a better skill set just in her freshman year she accomplished a lot. Diana, Sue and Rebecca got better in progression which is that what separates her from the rest.
You are going off of legacy/greatness while the statement was about talent and skill. There is a lot more that goes into winning championships and building a resume other than just being super talented. Paige has as much or even more talent than pretty much anyone else that has ever been at UConn, but her lack of health and the health of her team has stopped her from reaching the same heights as a team that others reached.
@cobra7282 very good comment. How can they win the title with 4 gaurds trying to stop bigger teams ? Out for the season- 6'5" Jana 6' 5 Amari 6'4 A. Patterson 6'3 Aubrey 6'2 Caroline And Azzi. Size and experience. If Uconn makes the final 4 it would be amazing. It would be the movie Hoosiers
Some coaches just have class and great humility, with that you have the recipe to move forward.
I wish that Yukon and Syracuse would begin a home and home series. It would be a win-win for both programs.
I miss the old the Big East man those games against Rutgers, ND, Syracuse were the best!

8 players with Ines
I'd rather have Ines running the point than an out of control KK that continues to take moronic shots under the rim and usually misses.
