You are really an awesome tech reviewer. You give professional reviews and they're always something I can count on when I'm buying a new device. Thanks!
Love Your new intro music on review videos - it's so much more pleasing (and relaxing) on the ears.. I can now watch more of Your reviews - in a bundle - than before ;-) Is that good..? Well... Keep It Up :-) Kind Regards, Jan Copenhagen, Denmark, EU
I had the Moto x 1st gen and loved it, upgraded to the HTC M8. M8 is fine, but once you go touchless control its no going back. I have panic attacks every time I have to pick up my M8. Going back to Moto X.
I of course enjoys your great reviews. I would like to suggest that the benchmark numbers really mean nothing to me and I think putting up a graphic comparing similar phones would seem to be a better way to show the power of a phone for the less technical audience. Thanks again.
Went in today and spent a lot of time looking over phones. Galaxy 5, HTC One M8, iPhone 6 & 6 Plus, LG G3 and Moto X. Could afford all of them. Walked out with the Moto X as I liked it better than all of the rest. Nice proportioned, good display, very fast, good feel in my hand, great reception (compared all of them on Verizon signal and Wi-Fi signals in the area), and voice quality. Moto X was best of all in Wi-Fi reception and voice quality.
Native722 It's the exact opposite of that. HTC went with an SD slot this year, LG did, Samsung is still doing it, even my Surface Pro 3 has an SD slot.
One suggestion Lisa. When you display camera samples you must show them on well calibrated large screen. When you show them on oversaturated amoled screen on moto x; it wont reflect actual results.
No microSD again? Why even bother with throwing in an SD slot in the Moto E if the flagship X doesn't have one. This isn't a Google Nexus product. Common Motorola.
Because the rest of the Moto lineup now offers microSD expansion while Motorola's flagship doesn't. Doesn't seem right to me. I understand why Nexus doesn't offer a microSD because Google wants you to use their cloud services, but Motorola?
Nice review. I don't like this gen Moto x. The old one seemed more subtle this one is too blingy with the ring flash diffuser and the ringed finger dimple. But I like the antenna frame. Seems speedy and the verge is calling it the best android phone ever. The camera is disappointing and I hope they get rid of amoled displays next time, the peek at your messages is nice but not worth the hit on battery and display quality. And 5.2 inches is pretty big, I thought the lg g2 was too big and this is the same size. The nexus 5 seems small to me now though so I might change my mind once it comes out here and I give it a try, I hope it doesn't take 8 months like last time to hit Australia. I just ended up waiting another 4 months to see this one. ; ) But now might get the old one for a bit cheaper. I am not a big photo taker, so I could live without a fantastic camera.
I was so looking fwd to this phone but it seem a little rushed.. The SD card absence is shocking, and why no dual speakers when they can fit them on the Moto E?. A missed opportunity Moto.
The Moto X is beautiful!! It's also cheap!! It's just... the battery. It's pretty much the same as my GS3 and I want a better battery -_- I wanna go for the Note 4 but it's just so big.
Hoping they'll unlock the disabled bands in the pure edition. Doesn't make sense to be unlocked and only have 3 bands. That's the only turn off for me if not for that I'm getting one.
MobileTechReview Yes heard it too. What is the difference between LTE bands and spectrum? if you have any idea. What I mean is If my phone supports band 4 in the US does it mean it will work too on band 4 overseas(using international sim)? Just curious if there are compatibility issues.
juan de la cruz Band 4 is band 4, no matter where in the world you are. A band equals a certain spectrum range. They went with bands because it gets confusing when lower 700Mhz belongs to 1 carrier while higher 700MHz belongs to another (thus two bands describe the two sections of 700MHz).
MobileTechReview that is a relief, cause I keep hearing horrible reviews about it, I have zero complaints about 1st gen.. I am getting 2nd gen this wknd!! boooyah!
Love this phone. Won't buy it though because of camera and display. Looks like it's a last-gen amoled screen (s4/note 3) since the current gen screens are a lot brighter and efficient. Samsung must be saving those for their own devices.
I liked the looks of the first Moto X, but I hate the looks on this one. They should have painted the grill of the speaker and mic black so it wasn't as noticable, that rear camera flash looks disgusting and the motorola logo is a bit too big. And I think they should have sticked to last years size.
I got a lot off shit for saying that the first moto x sucked and it did big time. I just went into att and looked at the new moto x and I have to tell you nice phone. Totally different than that cheap small crap first moto x. The build quality is great on the new moto x. The phone has been upgraded in all ways. Bigger faster everything I would choose this over s5 or the m8 and for the price you can't go wrong. I like big phones so really not for me. But I heard that the next nexus will be built by Motorola and the build quality will be similar to the moto x 2nd generation. But it will have a 5.9 in screen Yes. If this is true take my money. I just wanted to give props to Motorola for making a great phone.
Kane Bernardino Your mom is disgusting. Xander Houff, this phone is physically fugly. I don't mind Touchwiz. I actually love the many useful features that are included with it.
Eh, i own the Moto X and love it, but the Moto X+1 looks bad, even though it's a good phone...Not a fan of how the speakers on the front look, and the metal edge around the back looks kindof silly in black, i'd have preferred a black fron and a silver band
The speakers look tacky. The flash ring around the camera is ugly. The new "dimple" is now a crevice, can it be considered a dimple anymore? Adequate battery life. The phone grows in size but the battery doesn't? The heck.
Not only that, this device is huge. I also own a Moto X and the size is perfect, plus the increase in screen resolution is hardly noticeable, it just contributes to a lower battery life. The only games I play in it are SNES and NES anyway. I hope they add the touchless features of this X+1 to my X.
***** So all in all, it gets the same battery life as the old Moto X. I already knew this. But if i were to supposedly "upgrade" my phone to a more expensive one, battery life should have been part of the upgrade.
This is how humans define progress: invent the telephone and make it large then follow predictable design trends and come out with ever sleeker modes; because humans live in the past start selling large phones again for the sake of nostalgia. Invent the cell phone and make it large so it looks impressive then follow predictable design trends and make it increasingly compact so you could carry one without even noticing it's presence. Then make ever larger cell phones so that in time you will need to carry it in a backpack with outboard battery so you can pretend you're on army maneuvers and make you feel like a real man. Even the women will like that! :-) Yeah, silly. Marketing experts are playing games with consumers and they don't even notice it. "Here! Take my money because this phone is already 6 months old." "Sir!! Don't forget you smart watch otherwise you won't know what your phone is doing!!!"
These reviews are long with very little demonstration on what the phone can do, but more so a display of the phone with alot of talking. I don't want to hear, I want to see real world usage
Specs wise the phone holds up but looks wise its so ugly, I don't know what Google is aiming for. The faux wood texture, massive clyclopian camera eye on back and cheap looking plastic all around.
Leeran Farin I disagree. Dark wood back with bronze accents and black front is an awesome custom. Aside from that the standard black model is prob the best.
I was hoping you'd review this phone. Great video as always. XD
Another great review Lisaaaa.Especially appreciate the in depth camera overview. Thanks guuurl
As always nice review Lisa. Thanks
New intro! I like it, it's not as "in your face" loud and colourful as before. Could be a couple seconds longer I feel.
You are really an awesome tech reviewer. You give professional reviews and they're always something I can count on when I'm buying a new device. Thanks!
Good stuff! Can always count on you for an unbiased review.
Great video and very detail review. Thumbs up.
Love Your new intro music on review videos - it's so much more pleasing (and relaxing) on the ears..

I've been waiting for this. Thank you!
Got mine and I love it
Love the new intro music. Waaay better to the ears versus the old intro music.
Got one for $100 from Bestbuy, thanks for this video review.
And You Brutus for the win!
NOTICIAEmpresarial InternetMillonario Stupid ass, I bet you don't even know what Lisa calls her Moto X. Because you never finished watching the video.
I had the Moto x 1st gen and loved it, upgraded to the HTC M8. M8 is fine, but once you go touchless control its no going back. I have panic attacks every time I have to pick up my M8. Going back to Moto X.
Lisa,
Now that you have had a chance to review all the new phones that have been recently anoinced which has the best dispalu in direct sunlight ?
Great review of the new Motorola X.
Great review, thanks!
I of course enjoys your great reviews. I would like to suggest that the benchmark numbers really mean nothing to me and I think putting up a graphic comparing similar phones would seem to be a better way to show the power of a phone for the less technical audience. Thanks again.

I was interested.... until I saw no SD-Card slot.
***** Doesn't bother me. Just that it has no SD slot bothers me.
Looks like I'm gonna need to use the cloud a bit more /:
A lot of phones are going away from SD cards due to security concerns like Apple and Google Nexus.
Native722 It's the exact opposite of that. HTC went with an SD slot this year, LG did, Samsung is still doing it, even my Surface Pro 3 has an SD slot.
i wasn't aware you can put full apps on sd cards?
Great detailed review as always :) Lisa can you please review Moto G 2nd Gen (2014) next..please
One suggestion Lisa. When you display camera samples you must show them on well calibrated large screen. When you show them on oversaturated amoled screen on moto x; it wont reflect actual results.
Geez this phone looks so good.
I love the shirt lisa
thanks great review
Lisa, could you review the Moto G 2014 edition? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it.
This was the exact configuration is was going to get Lisa, looks great! How does the back actually feel? Does the veneer feel cheap?
Moto X is a beautiful phone.
No microSD again? Why even bother with throwing in an SD slot in the Moto E if the flagship X doesn't have one. This isn't a Google Nexus product. Common Motorola.
No recent Nexus phone has had an SD card slot? So why are you upset this one has?
Because the rest of the Moto lineup now offers microSD expansion while Motorola's flagship doesn't. Doesn't seem right to me. I understand why Nexus doesn't offer a microSD because Google wants you to use their cloud services, but Motorola?
Motorola just went stupid : \
Please compare this phone to the iPhone 6! I've been waiting weeks for someone to do it but no one has done it yet!
The camera wasn't that bad on both. It just wasn't something to write home about after running from the law.
Hey I live in Plano too! On Independence and McDermott. I also get my moto x on Monday cuz I live so close
Personally I think this is a great smartphone with usable unique features.
I want this now... hmmm the LG G Vista or this one?
Oh my gosh! I'm from plano too :))
Lisa, personally which would you take, Moto X 2014 or iPhone 6 (4.7")??
This will be great for my grandma who's upgrading from an ancient Galaxy Nexus
After being on the phone with Motorola. Bands are not the same. I got the pure version and have to take it back. No signal in my rural area.
Wonder how many phones are in your household and which one you use personally
Hopefully the Nexus X will be a 5.2 version of the Moto X.
your hot phase is so funny :p
wait, I've read and heard it has two speakers....
will they make a droid 5?
What's better looking? The bamboo or ebony?
I was interested till I saw the battery size....wth Motorola thinking ?
hey but which one is the better buy iphone 5s or moto x (2 gen)
Does this have slo mo?
Nice review. I don't like this gen Moto x. The old one seemed more subtle this one is too blingy with the ring flash diffuser and the ringed finger dimple. But I like the antenna frame.

I think the big question is.....Will it bend?
No 🐩
The OnePlus One is still my choice of entry into the Android world when my 4s perishes...
Who broke the poor Moto Gs screen?
Hoping they'll unlock the disabled bands in the pure edition. Doesn't make sense to be unlocked and only have 3 bands. That's the only turn off for me if not for that I'm getting one.
Moto has said a software update will enable those LTE bands on the Pure Edition (thank goodness!). No ETA yet.
MobileTechReview Yes heard it too. What is the difference between LTE bands and spectrum? if you have any idea. What I mean is If my phone supports band 4 in the US does it mean it will work too on band 4 overseas(using international sim)? Just curious if there are compatibility issues.

AMOLED display is not as good as IPS right??
Moto X 2nd Gen 2014 vs Sony Z1 which is better???
But... Will it bend?
does battery life last as long as the old moto x ? does anyone know the comparison??
I find the new Moto X battery lasts the same as the last gen X.
MobileTechReview that is a relief, cause I keep hearing horrible reviews about it, I have zero complaints about 1st gen.. I am getting 2nd gen this wknd!! boooyah!
Doesn't bend, so not interested.
Agreed, not flexible enough. Android handset makers could learn a thing or two from Apple, they really nailed flexibility...
LOL
***** LMAO

no micro sd? what the fuck are they thinking??? 32 gb isnt enough memory not by a long shot.

need drop test and scratch test of new moto x 2nd gen....
What a disgusting phone.
Can't wait for the Galaxy Note 4 review!
.....
Is there a problem, Xander Houff?
You're disgusting..
Tony Salinas I just. You're saying this is disgusting and you're praising a phone with TouchWiz...
Kane Bernardino Your mom is disgusting.
Xander Houff, this phone is physically fugly. I don't mind Touchwiz. I actually love the many useful features that are included with it.

Annoyed with AMOLED. Blue subpixel burn-out is a drag.
Phones charge a LOT faster if you put them on airplane mode. Try it.
Everything is great except for battery life...
Is a Arabic language ?

I hate the size . I don`t need to care phones around in hand . I`m not putting world around a phone ! To Big!
first
Wow I'm first I'm first.......now what?
not
You _fail_ it, _that's_ what happens. Play again tho lol...
Motorola and Samsung make some ugly phones. At least motorola dont have touchwiz and stupid buttons
Great phone, but it looks like a kids toy. The front speakers look awful and out of place.
There's only 1 speaker
That is because they did a horrific customization job....
Marky Marc the top is the headset speaker.....still a speaker.
Leeran Farin I disagree. Dark wood back with bronze accents and black front is an awesome custom. Aside from that the standard black model is prob the best.
