- The Cornish are pretty prissy about making pasties - so when AirgunTV viewer, An Gof, sent us in his take on Mat Manning's pigeon pasty recipe, we felt it had all gone a bit Heston Blumenthal...
Just tried your recipe and can i just say one big THANK YOU for your video. The pasties are really filling and taste nice. Even the kids had a small one each, but my wife would not eat one and was not over impressed with me feeding our two daughters pigeon? i will be making them again but i'll have to tell my wife its made with beef,i'm sure she wouldn't tell the difference. i'll also be trying to make your rabbit stew when i manage to get a rabbit. once again thanks and keep making the videos.
@eat4peace Second-best line in the video for me. (The best is when he's off the phone: "Cheers 'n' gone..." !!!)
As long as you've shot them as an authorised purpose, and are taking them primarily as part of your pest control duties (in UK), then yes. There's not as much meat on them as the woody, but the tend to be more tender, I find. A slightly more delicate meat than woodpigeon... but it does depend on what they've been feeding on, and what age they've reached. HTH. Nige
Whats with the changing ornaments throughout the video? Spitfire, Gnasher, Budda? Nice video!
Anything tastes good in a pasty! :)
Sounds nice.
Who the hell is Heston Blumenthal? LOL Great video An Gof thank you for sharing it Nige

Penn-bloedh lowen!!!
sorry my bird but you do not put carrots in it,This is not a true cornish way of doing it,Before any complaints i am a cornishman through and through and i am a city guilds baker,I was enjoying the video especially when you said it must be cornish butter,Then it all went tits up when i saw a carrot,Also to make it proper you do the crimp on side not top,Sorry to have to pick you up on this but it has got to be said,No crappy carrots and side crimp please and plenty of salt and pepper,Thats how you make a cornish pasty.
Noted, Paul!!!
i for one look forward to seeing your recipe then :) :p
