the IT was for a stylistic choice. It fits into their storyline too cos the kids from IT can also resonate with the boys in TXT’s storyline, how they’re all teenagers with deep and personal problems but together they are all happy and can escape the reality with each other
this song is so emotional and has so much meaning
Yeonjun was in a toxic household, you can see his parents arguing in the background and you can see him lose it and get away by taking the car keys.
When he gets outside all of his friends are there with him, They start driving to get away, and he has a green bracelet on his arm which is for Mental Health Awareness.
Yeonjun sufferes from what I think is a hallucination illness, from all the physical and mental emotions built up in him from his toxic household.
We constantly see the other members looking up in the sky and seeing Fish, We see yeonjun staring at his fish tank which symbolizes the rest of the members.
In the end we see him wake up and nobody was with him and the car is perfectly fine.
From what i’ve observed it seems that because of his mental illness yeonjun hallucinated the whole thing being with his friends. and in the end it was just him.
All alone as the lyrics said.

it seems that he’s saying his friends were his saving grace and made him feel loved and heard
“My life before you was a mess Couldn’t win one round of this chess” was him saying that without them he couldn’t do anything,he was alone

Also wanted to add that the floating fishes they see are called betta fish, also known as fighting fish or unusual warrior because they are quite small and look weak, but in fact they can fight a lot and get through a lot of difficult situations, most of the time they are also kept alone in a tank. So I feel like it could represent somebody who has mental health issues because everyday is like a fight at times but they are so strong and get through the difficult times, here it can be representing Yeonjun since he suffers through mental health in the story and is also alone he sadly looks at the goldfishes in the tank with envy who are living together while he is all alone. And as someone who suffers through mental illness the lines "I was fine to die, I am a loser in this game. There was no other way" really hits near home, I really love and admire txt for always making songs that youth can relate to, this song was perfect and the betta fish and all the other metaphors are genius💙

The whole MV is not abt the typical love story of a guy and a girl but instead it revolves around Family, Friends and self. " In this world with full of zero, you are my one and only " which interpreting abt parents caring, loving and understanding for their child. As we can see in the MV, yeonjun’s parents were arguing, it's always like that, that's why it triggered Yeonjun's brain which cause him to have a mental illness ( idk what exactly it is, but it's close to HALLUCINATIONS) we could also see Yeonjun driving, and on his wrist is a green ribbon, which symbolizes and logo of MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS ( YJ is portraying someone who has an mental illness with all those hallucinations that he went through and raising an awareness by having his own ribbon on his wrist)
He wants to escape the bitter and painful reality of living in a toxic environment that's why he created a fantasy where he's with his friend and happily hanging out with them. But the truth is, it's just all part of Yeonjun's imagination and hallucinations. We can see him staring at the beta fishes floating, those were the members inside of it bc they are just figments of his imaginations.
this (0x1) is reminding us that in the world that is full of uncertainty and emptiness, we just need that 1 person to understand us!
The fishes in the fish tank represent the boys in this world. They desperately want to leave the fish tank and explore the outside world. It also symbolises the envy yeonjun feels as he sees the fish with other fishes together. While he is all alone and the other boys are just his hallucinations. He is shown as a depressed lonely teen on anti depressants medicine . Yeonjun is fed up with his parents fighting and he steals the car keys, and runs away from his house all alone. But he thinks he is with his 4 friends. In reality, he is all alone
Another things is at the part where he was walking out of the room, when it transitioned to the outside, the fact that u can only hear yeonjun’s voice and some MOAs (txt’s fandom) think that’s it’s only Yeonjun’s footsteps that u can hear which implies that he is by himself. They were also happy about burning the car so they don’t have to go back to the shit reality!
The mini pool inside the big pool could also represent their youth slowly fading away. In run away, they were swimming in a big pool becuase they were filled with youth and innocence back then, but now as they continue to grow up, the pool gets smaller symbolizing them losing their innocence and growing out of their adolescence, but they are still trying to hold on to that the little bit of youth that they have.

They always outdo themselves every comeback. And I also love the harmonizing too! Seori had such a beautiful voice and Yeonjun and Beomgyu sound amazing harmonizing with her! I hope we get an actual live collab stage with them someday for OX1=Lovesong. 🥰

Not a MOA. That being said, I fucking love this song. I’m a hardcore ARMY (Love my guys and their music), but I was not mad when this beat out Butter on Show Champion (To ARMY who say I’m not a true fan check yourself, I did what I always did and voted/streamed for the guys). It was a deserved win, with fair competition on both sides 🤷🏻♀️. This song is just pretty damn great soooooo…….
