- A particularly busy week as a press on nail artist. In preparation for our vacation, I had half of the amount of time I normally do to paint, package and ship my products. A chaotic and real look into what running a press on nail business - or any small business - from home and by yourself can entail.

I keep a sprey bottle of water on my desk, after Buffing & putting away my dust collecter, I mist down the desk from about standing height then fold away the paper towel! It makes all the air born particles fall & so much easier to clean up! You can do this to the filter paper on your dust collecter too when changing xx

I love watching your videos, it really gives me relief sharing the every day struggles of making press ons 😅 while you're enjyoing the EU I would like to give you a couple of suggestions, which of course are only my take on the job. I would advise to wear a mask while you file/buff the tips, our airways must be kept safe at all costs! I would also suggest to discard the outer paper bag (the one before the silver mailer), just to be less wasteful. You're already so well branded! I hope you don't take the last one as a criticism, it's just a mere suggestion 🥰

i thought the same on the outer paper bag, since she'd be saving money skipping on it too, I get that 'brand presence/presentation" is important, but the silver mailer and smaller bags are enough.

Just wanted to add some recognition to what you said about being a nail biter - as someone who has also had this issue my whole life and is also a lover of all things nails, just wanted to issue a thank you for making myself and many others feel seen. Always felt guilty going to nail professionals with my hands in the state they sometimes are 😅 press ons are life and have helped me so much

I love your videos. I come here purposely because you are where I am striving to be at some point. The way you went from unboxing to reorganizing really made me love it here more. That was entirely something I would so knowing I have other things to do lol.
The thought of a backup nail is thoughtful, but doesn't add much goodness because what if the thumb is missing, but the nail provided fits an index You can (potentially) file down a bigger size, but there's not much use for a nail that's too small. You'll be wasting product to provide something that may or may not fit the wearer.
You won't be able to make a bigger nail fit a tinier one even if you file it because they're made by the shape of the nail and if you buff it you ruin it, the best she can do is offer a nail that fits on most of your fingers so if you lose index middle or ring nails you can wear the replacement. This comment was unnecessary

I also literally couldn’t find where she explained it in the video while replaying so many times, so I went to her Instagram, another person also made a comment wondering how would she know what size of that extra nail to make, this is her response: “I am opting to select a half size in between the ring and the middle finger. So you could make it work for any of those three nails”.

Such a great video- hope you have so much fun on your trip! I have a question…how does this business pay off for you? I know you work an “actual” job, and so you have to limit how many sets you sell, and your sets are so detailed and pretty, and it seems to take you a lot of time to make them….i imagine, with all the time you spend, and materials, you can’t be making more than like $10-$15 an hour? I don’t mean to sound rude at all! I’m just genuinely curious- like how do you make your time worth it? Or is it more of a hobby for you in that you don’t really aim for profit? I've been really enjoying your videos, i just found your channel today! You seem to be the kind of person who really values organization and "categories", so I was wondering if you might make a video about your favorites for certain "categories". For instance, I really want to get different opacities of colors, but I'd want to hear who you recommend each for "category" of color gels (cream gels, syrup gels, jelly gels, glass gels, and clear gels). I'd also be interested in what good starting colors/sets you recommend for each type, so like if I were to say I wanted to limit each category to 10 gels and mix any in between colors, what range would you recommend? Sorry for the long comment, but i feel like our brain operate similarly, so i feel like you're a good person to ask!
"I've bitten off all of my nails because I'm stressed" is literally me. I switch between gelX and press ons, and find they last maybe a max of 2 weeks, because I will knaw them of, and then go at my natural nails underneath ;-; High cortisol girlies

Out of curiosity do press on nails artists have to create their own design for each set or are they allowed to copy sets that they see online to sell them. Is there some sort of nail copyright?
I don't think it's copyright more like... morals? One can do anything for themselves but if you sell the complete design someone else came up with and don't ask permission/credit you might be exposed by the original creator and get a bad reputation. And in this business getting reputation and finding clients is the hardest part. There is nothing wrong combining different elements from various designs, just not like a complete set rip off.
I would like to start my own press on nails business, and I saw that shein sells gel polish. Should I buy them from there? They’re very cheap, and the other alternative is to buy it from a local seller that sells good quality polish for double the price shein sells it for.
if you want it as a business it makes more sense to invest for quality supplies tbh.
are the buyers using nail glue to put these on? I noticed you're using gel-x. Don't those have to be cured? I am still learning!

I’ll set it when I need to stay on task and focus! I’ll generally set a 20min timer and hammer something out

Ouuuu I really don’t know I’ve bought expensive ones that are good and expensive ones that are bad. I really don’t know much in terms of chrome power ingredients (what to look for/ avoid) but I would say go for the cheap ones to start. I have a bunch and they work great!

Are gels strictly necessary to start a press on nail business? I prefer regular polish and have a massive collection, but it seems like all the press on girlies are using gel. i kinda hate gel and i really dont wanna spend the money on product i dont even like
I used to paint drugstore press ons with polish (just for myself to wear). gel is however more durable and adds strength so there’s pros and cons
I use only regular polish for press ons and then top coat with no wipe gel
U need to change ur angle so we can c u do the nails better. Like an overhead camera holder so u can shoot from above.
