Thank you! For years I wasted time, stress and money on luxury rules I thought I was supposed to follow. Buy what you love (and can afford). That’s it.
I have been collecting luxury designer bags with my mom since I was 13 years old. The first thing I noticed about the most expensive bags is that the leather is too soft and doesn't retain 16its original condition. I prefer *condup* leather because of its longevity and practicality.
kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the *preluxscom* book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations.
There is no point in being selectively angry. So you don’t believe in buying fake bags, a purchase is a purchase, regardless of the intention. I personally think it's crazy to care too much about how people want to spend their money. I bought real coach, marc jacobs, and mcm. If it's more than 1500, I'll buy a replica *condup* . Guess what else I have in the bank, I'm a homeowner and drive a Lexus. I saw someone on UA-cam who had tons of luxury items, lived in their mom's house, and was broke
@@santopietrobuglio Who's angry? I read your post like it was an exercise in bragging/flexing. Lexus? House? Meh! I usually wouldn't share that sentiment, having mostly a live-and -let -live philosophy. But you think this is all about oneupmanship. Consider that the reason people don't want to support fakery, is apart from the obvious issues it not only reflects badly but it's also got ethical considerations. Ethics are something we all should give careful consideration to. As with the feelings of others who may not be able to afford a Lexus/house but still baulk at supporting organised crime. I can't say I don't care about the latter, because I do! So I'm not ashamed of having strong values and ethics and I question anyone who likes to compare and outdo anyone else. It's a loser mentality no matter how much money you have, you're not winning IMO.
I’ve found the judgement from people is often just envy in disguise. I had one “friend” who kept making snarky remarks about my bags and my disposable income and how she had more important things to do with her money than waste it on luxury. Well she said that right up until her partner bought her a classic flap one Christmas and she admitted she had told him how she really wanted to be the kind of person who owned a Chanel and felt it wasn’t fair that I had multiple. I just rolled my eyes when she said this. If you’re going to say you think luxury is a waste then at least actually mean it or just don’t say it!
ABSOLUTELY!!! But many people are unconscious of their motivations so she gradually realised it was envy and expressed her wish. She at least 'fessed up about it...but people who do not can be wearing. I have a frenemy who is clearly jealous of my personal style so she said: 'Oh you do like to keep up with the young ones'. Slap down remark but I filed it where it belongs...the garbage. Because she thinks she is very limited with what she can wear but can address that. She would never ask for advice so I never give it. And t his brings me to the basic discourtesy of making uncalled for personal remarks. We are all human and make mistakes but the rudeness of stating something like it's the only reality is just exasperating at times. I make critical remarks on UA-cam when comments are requested. But all in good fun!
I’m so glad you talked about this. I’ve been following a lot of channels and I’m so sick of seeing that back shelf have all CHANEL bags or Hermes bags only. The entire shelf has 6-7 same bag in a different colors 🤦♀️ Your bag collection is to die for 😍
I used to hate the LV monogram print (decades ago), thought the brown color hue was dreary and now I love everything monogram over empreint, etc. not because it’s showy but simply because it makes the bag classic so never about showing off.
It really is an amazing process going from not liking it to loving it! I totally feel you…I realized I loved how the vintage patina monogram bags look! The older the more beautiful they turn!
@@adl5453 yes, very true also! now that I’m older, I just appreciate the design, pattern and quality. just wish I’d invested in the brand back then instead of paying these sky high prices.
Same. I used to think it looked so grandma when I was in my twenties and then something happened in my 30s and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Same for the lady dior. Used to HATE it, not anymore now. Crazy how our taste changes.
I struggled for a while and decided on LV baby Madeleine in black and cream bicolour, although theoretically it is hard to match with clothes, and very loud. It was the best choice, it still makes my heart sing every time I wear or see it. Really, dont settle for 'safer' options, because it will never feel the void.
I have some DeMellier bags, which I love, that most people in my life consider cost too much for a bag. When you have only ever bought a bag at Target/Walmart, spending a few hundred dollars is A LOT and IS luxury, so I did struggle with family making comments. Now I simply do not tell anyone what it costs and buy what I want. 😆 I appreciate your advise while I decide which bag will be my first “true” luxury bag.
Yes but the Target and Walmart bags often will not last! People sniffing at how much someone spends on a bag perhaps forget this about the cheaper bags: replacing them every year or so becomes expensive over a decade. Plus they never look terribly great to begin with. This is what is meant by cost per wear. The problem is if people buy bags they cannot afford, to live a fantasy life. This is something we need to be aware of, but at the same time it's possible to have designer bags that make economic sense and also cover the bases for impact and design. I have some mid range bags and they're functional and I take them shopping etc. But then again some canvas designer bags are made to last and will have you looking good and performing a function very effectively. The issue these days is personal safety and not wanting to be seen to be flashy. Overall IMO it pays to be disciplined. It depends on disposable income and priorities. And I agree with Amelia Rose and you, It's not for others to pronounce what we 'should' be doing. It's better to say what works for us and why. At the end of the day some simply do not understand. I suspect there's a bit of the green eyed monster involved in the mix but jealousy is so under acknowledged and subconscious. We just have to nod knowingly and go our own way....
Great points and advice! And on the point of buying neutrals before color, take Chanel for example; many seasonal colors are extremely limited, and once they are gone, they are GONE. If you miss your chance at the boutique (if you are lucky enough to come across it) I would definitely go for the beautiful color because black will always come back - but that special color will not.
Thanks a lot dear 🎉🎉 finally a UA-camr telling the truth and acting in a reasonable way, I just hated the luxury community lately due to the toxic hypocrite UA-camrs
So many good quality mid range bags these days, coach, strathbery, demelier, polene, senreve, lalage, teddy blake. Good quality, great designs and whats more is when a person wears them, they dont have to worry about spills, smudges, clothes rubbing on the bags, or safety concerns. The purpose of a bag is to look good and carry a person's items from point a to b. All the mid range bags perform the same function and bring peace of mind.

Thanks for being honest. For me Hermes bags are not worth the money and hype. Most are really ugly including birkin. I don’t get why people jump through the hoops to get them, especially the way hermes profiles and treats people disgustingly. Just for this reason I would never consider them.
Everybody has a vice/something they spend money on: could be expensive cars, trips, handbags, shoes, motorcycles, etc. I would point that out when people start to judge.
The number of things, I don’t listen to now is extensive! 😂 Telling me that something is not worth it anymore, I mean to you maybe, but if I love it and want to pay for it, I will. Or to not buy a brand because of bad treatment or because you have to show some loyalty. Well, maybe you had been treated badly, but if it’s not my experience at all, I will remain a customer of the brand. Great advice. Can I add, as a bag liker not lover, if you want to splurge on a luxury bag, buy what you absolutely love even if it’s ‘out there’ in colour or material or size. I don’t want to amass a collection of luxury goods and so I have been very sensible and passed on a couple that I loved because I knew they weren’t very practical. Usually they’re more evening type bags which wouldn’t get a great deal of use, but that really doesn’t matter. If you don’t want much in the way of luxury, buy exactly the piece you love, be that coat, bag, shoes, sunglasses, wallet etc.
Thankyou ❤ Amazing video 👏 Reminding us that listening to our hearts and honouring our choices shows we believe ourselves to be worthy of our love, time and money. Exactly like we show to others !
So so so on point! I’ve discovered after A LOT of “top tier” luxury purchases my lifestyle is more mid range / contemporary…. and that is fine. Another great video ❤
My unicorn bag is a Loewe Puzzle large in Sand. My second if the Fendi Carrrie Bradshaw purple sequin. I intend to buy the first next year. I sold all but one of my bags, just got a mulberrymitzi now.
Yes, I always just want to get the bag that I love. I have been influenced on many bags in my collection and I love them. But honestly, my favorite bag is a bag that no one has influenced me to buy. I saw it, I wanted it, I bought it and I love it.
Great video. I agree with everything you said. Your collection is probably the most beautiful on YT imo. Love all the colors and that lady dior is just stunning.
I do agree with most of what you said but I also have to say that though it is very important to buy what you love, and not what you were told to and not to, please be sensible. You don’t need to wear a head to toe monogram to show that you’re into fashion, or you’re into luxury, or that you’re successful. Don’t get sucked into the world of luxury.
❤ 😊 "If you find a bag you absolutely want then buy that bag!!" Agreed 😊 ❤ something that makes your ❤ sing may not for others ... however, its your ❤ that should matter most to you 💖
Quality comes at a price! I was sick and tired buying and having to re buy because it didn’t last. By saving a little more and buying quality from brands that do the work to sell long lasting products and care if your happy makes a huge difference. I recently brought a $75 book from Dior, loved The new look series it was free postage and free gift card, it came wrapped in beautifully wrapped tissue paper and a stunning gift box. What an experience to open it! I also brought the same day a book that cost me $120 from an online book shop and it arrived in a plastic postal bag with no protection and the book had damaged corners. I could have brought the same book for a little more $$ from the design house but I tried to save money and ended up so disappointed. I know now which buying experience I would rather have!
@@ameliarosescloset I follow others but your videos are more natural. We can as watchers see that you are yourself. Wish for a video is wear and tear of Lady Dior. What to think about when buying one. This is still on my wishlist.
If in this world there is a Holy Grail man for me, there might be a Holy Grail bag😅Best video!! I really hate those resellers saying certain bags are investment which is so misleading to new luxury buyers, such a BS!
Im buying pre loved. Like LV 40 is it? Owner ripped zipper out. So got her cheap. Love her. Then Speedy 30. From 80's. Got her cheap because she was so dried. Love her. Today I just got Speedy 25. Beautiful condition but her handles were replaced. The handles sold me. Next Im saving for LV Speedy mini. For what ever reason I just never thought I looked like LV girl but Chanel and Kelly.
....Well I did buy bags previously to 'appear wealthy ' and the elevated status until I had a serious conversation with myself. It's a veblem good and having the bag is not going to elevate my status. I had to come to a realization about my self worth to understand I am already worthy regardless of the logo. Now I can enjoy my bags just because I like them, logo or not. Non-branded one day, branded the next. No longer feel the need to 'flex'. Want to flex with good health and balanced hormones! ❤
I am glad you said this. I have a Birkin and it is in no way my favorite bag. I will admit I got caught up in the Hermes hype at one point but woke up before I spent too much money. Actually, if I had it to do over again I would not have purchased it. Not that I don't love it but I find that I never use it so it is a waste. I have other bags from many brands that I grab first. I buy what I love and what will work for me. I love pre-loved because that gives me the chance to see what works and what does not.
Lots of great points! I don't like the Birkin, my favourite Hermes bag is the Evelyn! I'm not sure I have a holy grail bag, but I do have two bags that I love and have only purchased after long consideration. The first is a Loewe Puzzle - it's my sort of relaxed bag, plenty of room and not in your face. The second is as different as could be, it's a Gucci Horsebit Mini in navy monogram, structured, loud and proud. And yes I um-ed and arh-ed about both, but especially the Gucci, as I'm not a logo fan, and yes I found an alternative which didn't quite scratch the itch (a navy/cream snakeskin print bag from Marc Jacobs), and tbh honest, I'll wear it more than the Gucci, especially as a bag to grab for a quick trip to the supermarket, its a great bag but it's not the Gucci! And while you could argue the Gucci is neutral (navy/ beige), it also has a red/navy guitar strap which was one of the reasons I fell for this bag. And anyway, can you really call the Gucci monogram a neutral, certainly not in any minimalist kind of way! My Loewe is a denim blue, so again, some would argue its a neutral... I am in the market for a medium-sized red bag, but I haven't seen one that speaks to me yet. As for the classics, a Birkin, Kelly, Classic flap, or Lady Dior don't really work with my style - I'd go for the Saddle over the Lady Dior any day, but generally I like a bit of slouch. Both my high-end bags were bought preloved, so in terms on money, I saved loads, but that doesn't stop people judging me - I won't wear the Gucci to family gatherings as I know there'll be mutterings (if they know what it is). But I saved for both, and no one mutters about my husband's bike collection (he's got five plus his everyday bike) - double standards, I'd say! As for logos, I'd actually say the LV monogram canvas is more understated than the Gucci, but it doesn't make my heart sing in the same way as the Gucci does (and if I'm honest, the love is about 70% down to the specific colourway), but I have no issues with people who go all in, head to toe, logomania. If you like handbags, as most of us watching this do, a bag doesn't necessarily need a logo for us to recognise it.
my first bags were the rive gauche tote and the nano peekaboo. neither are really on the first bag lists. i kinda just buy what i like and something that i can't get from another brand (e.g. sequined fendis). with the amount of money i'd rather the bag be special than a basic bag. for the affordable v luxury, everyone suggests the tabby as a replacement for the baguette. And i really just don't like the tabby, it's not the same vibes. also for neutrals i'm learning that for me with my wardrobe, blues are actually my "neutral" rather than your typical brown, black, white, or grey.
I already have one 'end all be all'...my McQueen Britannia clutch. I love it so much I wanna marry it! Any other unicorn bag for me is going to be one with bling! Especially any Chanel bag with crystal studs. SO not practical, but I love them! ❤️💎💎💎
Guurrrl! I hear you loud and clear. Who knows what someone’s wholly grail bag is. It is different for everybody. I hear you and I gotta say yes the birken is nice but there are literally millions of them roaming the earth. I think because the Hermes bags are hand stitched people elevate their bags. But that Dior bag is super special. Other than you I have not seen that bag anywhere. Bags are totally not investments period. I could not agree with you more. My investments are in the stock market and in my home…my bags….not an investment. Even during times where I made a couple of bucks on a bag but that is rare and even then I would have made more money if I never bought the bag and just put that bag money in the market. On time video women!
I have started my collection with red and orange then pink , yellow , white and beige . I was offered a black birkin with rose gold hardware I had to decline I hated black back then and the SA told me you might like it in the future 😂 Now I want it so bad 😅 . I also used to hatr silver hardware now i just want silver this happened after 10 years of seeking colorful bags with gold hardware . Now i am planning to buy a cluny lv in black color but all the sudden they started ro make them in gold hardware.
"You can find that cheaper" is one of the most annoying things to me. Yes, we're all aware that everything exists at nearly every price point (whether it's dupes or replicas). That doesn't mean selling yourself short to buy a lesser product just to please... who? Nagging friends? Influencers? It's not like they're paying for it, so I'll buy what I actually like.
Thank you! For years I wasted time, stress and money on luxury rules I thought I was supposed to follow. Buy what you love (and can afford). That’s it.

This is great advice
Thankyou ❤
Amazing video 👏
Reminding us that listening to our hearts and honouring our choices shows we believe ourselves to be worthy of our love, time and money. Exactly like we show to others !
Thank you!
Great points Amelia. We all have different tastes and we should buy what makes our heart sing.
So true
Very well said, Amelia! I always appreciate your honest insight, common sense, and wonderful sense of humor. Totally agree! Thank you!💜🇺🇸
Thank you so much!
I buy classic shapes and neutral colors with a tweak on the design!💖
Love it!
Great video! Also, a reminder to not get caught up and buy what works for our individual selves. ❤
Thank you!
So so so on point! I’ve discovered after A LOT of “top tier” luxury purchases my lifestyle is more mid range / contemporary…. and that is fine. Another great video ❤
Love that!
i love your bag collection its so refreshing to see colour
Thank you!
My unicorn bag is a Loewe Puzzle large in Sand. My second if the Fendi Carrrie Bradshaw purple sequin. I intend to buy the first next year. I sold all but one of my bags, just got a mulberrymitzi now.
Stick to those and you will love them!
Yes, I always just want to get the bag that I love. I have been influenced on many bags in my collection and I love them. But honestly, my favorite bag is a bag that no one has influenced me to buy. I saw it, I wanted it, I bought it and I love it.
I totally agree!
Great video. I agree with everything you said. Your collection is probably the most beautiful on YT imo. Love all the colors and that lady dior is just stunning.
Thank you so much!
I absolutely agree I have many Micheal kors bags but my niece says nooo not them buts what makes u happy!! Love ur videos xx
So true!
Agree completely
Speak the truth girl . Preach ❤
Thank you!
I LOVE your hair color Amelia 😍😍😍 you look GREAT
Thank you so much 😀
Completely agree.. buy what you like..
Absolutely
❤ 😊 "If you find a bag you absolutely want then buy that bag!!" Agreed 😊 ❤ something that makes your ❤ sing may not for others ... however, its your ❤ that should matter most to you 💖
Absolutely agree!
One of best sharing you have made so far, ❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
I got the saddle bag from you and I just have to say I am very happy with the price and the bag and yellow is a neutral color for me 💯 video
That bag is a heck of a beautiful colour. It would pop against grey white black navy it's amazing.
Thank you!
I agree with this
Your video was really fun to watch. I buy what I like what suits my style. That I want to use.
Awesome! Thank you!
@@ameliarosescloset I follow others but your videos are more natural. We can as watchers see that you are yourself. Wish for a video is wear and tear of Lady Dior. What to think about when buying one. This is still on my wishlist.
@@MrsLadyElla thank you! I have a pretty frank review of the lady Dior not that long ago on my channel, hopefully that helps
If in this world there is a Holy Grail man for me, there might be a Holy Grail bag😅Best video!! I really hate those resellers saying certain bags are investment which is so misleading to new luxury buyers, such a BS!
It is misleading, it's not a fair depiction of
Thank you. I see so many videos and comments about what isn’t and what is a good first bag to get. There isn’t one.
I totally agree!
I have 4 "luxury" bags. I use all 4. They absolutely make my heart sing. My sister makes fun of my "logos". I hate that.
I hate that too, i love your logos
I could have saved myself more time and money by buying the bag I wanted in the first place versus the alternative.
So true
Im buying pre loved. Like LV 40 is it? Owner ripped zipper out. So got her cheap. Love her. Then Speedy 30. From 80's. Got her cheap because she was so dried. Love her. Today I just got Speedy 25. Beautiful condition but her handles were replaced. The handles sold me. Next Im saving for LV Speedy mini. For what ever reason I just never thought I looked like LV girl but Chanel and Kelly.
I still love my LV
....Well I did buy bags previously to 'appear wealthy ' and the elevated status until I had a serious conversation with myself. ❤
Love this x
I am glad you said this. I have a Birkin and it is in no way my favorite bag. I will admit I got caught up in the Hermes hype at one point but woke up before I spent too much money. Actually, if I had it to do over again I would not have purchased it. Not that I don't love it but I find that I never use it so it is a waste. I have other bags from many brands that I grab first. I buy what I love and what will work for me. I love pre-loved because that gives me the chance to see what works and what does not.
Thank you
So many things were told we ‘must’ do 🙄 I wish I hadn’t wasted so much time and money on neutrals and classics!
I hear ya!
Thank you!
Tell us about your chunky necklace! Beautiful!
I was admiring her necklace too.
It's the LV 'elizabeth' necklace
my first bags were the rive gauche tote and the nano peekaboo. neither are really on the first bag lists. i kinda just buy what i like and something that i can't get from another brand (e.g. sequined fendis). with the amount of money i'd rather the bag be special than a basic bag.
for the affordable v luxury, everyone suggests the tabby as a replacement for the baguette. And i really just don't like the tabby, it's not the same vibes.
also for neutrals i'm learning that for me with my wardrobe, blues are actually my "neutral" rather than your typical brown, black, white, or grey.
Love this, pinks are my neutrals
I have a a fendigraphy that you would love in bright fuschia. I don't follow the rules either....🎉
Oh cool!
I already have one 'end all be all'...my McQueen Britannia clutch. I love it so much I wanna marry it! Any other unicorn bag for me is going to be one with bling! Especially any Chanel bag with crystal studs. SO not practical, but I love them! ❤️💎💎💎
Those clutch bags are fabulous!
If it’s not in my spirit to buy something, I don’t go out and buy it
That Lady Dior!!!!🤩🤩🤩
Thank you!
Wait!!!! Is my girl losing weight! You’re looking amazing lady! ☺️
Yes! Thank you!
We deserve luxury if we are willing to work for it and WANT it!
Absolutely!
#6 is so true! ❤
Isn't it!
All of this! 💯👏👏👏
Thank you!
YOU WONT KNOW UNTIL YOU QUINCH THAT THIRST LOL!!! I DIDNT FIND OUT UNTIL I GOT MOST OF MY DREAM BAGS 😂
Thank you!
Trendy or not, buy what we love and truly something we would use for a long time! ❤️ 🎉
Exactly !
My wholy grail bag is an exotic in croc. Im not sure what brand or what bag yet, but one is definitely in the future
And you will love it!
A black would be timeless
Haha I’m the opposite…LOVE the Birkin but in black, Gold and Etain. Not a huge fan of them in any other colors to be honest.
And that's why we should all buy what we love ourselves
💯
Honestly the amount of times I’ve heard ‘gg marmont bag is out of style now’ well my response is always - u* yours!!! I love mine 🤣🤣
I love my supermini one, i wear it every summer
Suggestions are welcome but not meaning to be a necessity. Do what’s beneficial YOU; not OTHERS
Agreed❤…you’re so cute😊
Thank you!
Its just marketing
That it is
I make my own rules 😎
Me too!!

Soo true!
