18:06 The Ladder actually reset your fall damage when you placed it, for some reason is doesn't change your momentum but it does reset fall damage. (nothing to do with the fire)
Not too sure about that. Might be the same "damage on the same frame" thing as the "Unsolved Mystery" clutch on Baabtwo.

no, that is exactly what happened, you can see he still takes 2.5 hearts of damage, if the fire tick damage would've occured at the same tick as the falling damage then he would've taken 0 or 0.5 hearts of damage.
In the fire clutch, you took fire damage right before you hit the ground so it negated all of the fall damage you would’ve taken. I don’t really know I’m not an expert but I think that’s it
No he fell of the ladder buy still fell but the ladder reduced most of the damage
No that’s not how the minecraft I-frame works, when it is active after you take damage you can’t take damage lower than your initial hit, for example, if you take 4 damage and 4 again, the second hit does no damage, but if you take 4 damage and then 5, then you will take 5 damage in total (The first hit won’t do damage)
@@10503. This is incorrect. What you're referring to only applies to several counts of damage taken on the same tick. The invincibility stays for several more ticks and the player is truly invincible for these ticks.

18:18 similar to many other types of clutches, the damage from the fire resets you fall damage for a split second and that's when you landed and because of that you took 0 fall damage

This is not correct, his fall damage is not reset. He doesn't take fall damage either because he's in his invincibility frames from the fire damage and cannot take the fall damage as he should, or because he barely clips the ladder, it's unclear
It wasn't the fire it was the ladder that saved him because he was on the same block as the ladder but not close enough or crouched so he didn't stay on the ladder but it slowed down his fall therefore he didn't die

So in the fire clutch what actually happened is that you got the edge of the ladder. It wasn't enough to make you actually land on the ladder, but it reset the fall damage. You can see a similar thing on my Nether Escapist video on my channel, just without the fire.
basically how the fire clutch at 18:05 works is there's a slight delay between you touching the fire and actually taking the first bit of damage from it, and this delay happened to be the exact same length of time as it took for you to reach the ground, and as you can't take damage from multiple sources simultaneously, you only took the fire damage and thus survived the fall
For the fire clutch: In Minecraft, when you take damage, there's a really short delay before you can take damage again. This is noticeable if you get multiple people to shoot you with an arrow at the exact same time. If the fire were on the ground, you would've taken the fall damage before you take the fire damage, but since the fire was 1 block above the ground, it happened right as you would've normally taken fall damage.

After you take any damage like getting lit on fire, you have an amount of time where you can not take any damage. That is how you accidentally clutched with the fire.

the fire clutch work because minecraft doesn't allow you to take damage immediately after you have taken damage so you taking fire damage had a low enough delay from the fall damage the it stopped you from taking fall damage
To my understanding, what happened with the fire is you took that damage while falling, and the fire damage cancelled out fall damage. So basically, it was luck, I would say. BTW, thanks for making this. it is so cool!
The reason that the fire clutch worked is because the fire made the first damage tick and you hit the ground before you could take damage again.
The fire is because you took damage right before you hit the ground. There is a split second of invincibility after taking damage, and since you had already hit the ground, no fall damage was taken

The fire clutch is probably either from you landing on the ladder, it reset the fall damage but didn't cancel the momentum(probably server lag)
Invulnerability period caused by fire doesn't negate fall damage as invulnerability period only makes you take maximum single source of damage for 1/2 second of the period (so it's only reducing 1 damage from fire),
there's some clutches I've seen tho, it's possible fire deals knockback that resets fall damage, probably for different versions? well it's so unpredictable it's not a clutch method even if it exists , I'd stick with that wierd sprint and press space to clutch thing lol
18:14 how you did it is cause if your that red color when you've taken dmg you can't take any dmg whatsoever until your not the red hit color so the fire make you take damage and your survived

For the fire I think the game just registers that u take damage when your close to the ground if you do it just assumes that you took fall damage it would be the same with anything even if your friend shot you with an arrow

if you place a lava bucket below yeah it stops fall damage like a water bucket but the fire reduce your fall damage so you didn’t take any and so are you survived

Also as stated before, I don't know much about this guy so I wouldn't know whether or not his content is staged anyways. It's just that infuriated me when I saw your replies on almost every single comment trying to explain this fire clutch.
There's also another factor I want to know. Did he ever claim that his content was real when its fake? Cuz if so, that's a problem. Unless he says it's just for entertainment, that's fine with me.

In the fire clutch, you took fire damage and also would’ve took fall damage but you took the fire damage right before the fall damage so you had a split second of invincibility frames and that’s what happened I asume

The fire clutch wasn’t actually a fire clutch, because it isnt possible in Java, somebody convinced everyone that it’s possible but it’s only theoretically possible like the cactus clutch. When you placed the ladder you didn’t miss it you still hit the clutch, but if you fall from a high place and ladder clutch on 1 ladder sometimes you don’t catch onto the ladder but it does break your fall. So you fall further after the clutch instead of staying on the ladder due to you momentum and your distance from the ladder. I can tell this because not all fall damage was negated, you still took 2 hearts, which was the fall damage, but the ladder was placed high so it broke your fall
