- Let us introduce the brand-new TYPHOON Multisport Sea Kayak drysuit to you! We were pleasantly surprised and exited when receiving the first prototype of this suit months ago. This is what we, sea kayakers, really need. A suit that is invented by sea kayakers, for sea kayakers! We were able to field test the suit during the previous period, rather extensively… We were able to give feed-back to the company and get proper response. TYPHOON really did a wonderful job! The Multisport Sea Kayak drysuit fills the gap between the Multisport 5 and the PS330. It is designed for the harshest conditions a kayaker can encounter during coastal and offshore trips or expeditions. It is super comfy, we love the storm collar and hood. The collar is soft and warm, and the hood is the best we have ever seen. Fits like a sou’wester and allows to look around and even behind you unrestricted. The color scheme is new, the fabric is though and durable and kept us bone dry even after been in the water for an extended period. If you are looking for a new, top quality sea kayak drysuit, this one needs to be on your list! As you probably know, we spend a lot of time in our kayaks, and even more next to it in the water training on rescues, self-rescues and coaching others. We only use the best gear to do so, and it gets field tested a lot on the cold North Sea! Have a look at the specs;

Great video. I love to watch your manoeuvers. It looks so easy how you handle your boat.
Hi there! Thank you! To be honest, I took years of training (and making mistakes ;-) ) to get there. Cheers, Dimitri
Baught myself this dry suit in december 2019 and have done already few cold water tests. Very nice made comfortable and reliable suit, also looks good!
Hi there, Glad you like the suit! Share your opinion, one of the better suits for us available!👌😊
@@Northseakayak what can i say. I use this dry suit already 7 months. Pluses- sits on my body well, has pockets, hood cover for head. Locks are good and do not let water inside. Looks good.
Minuses, material itself doesnt for this moment warn out, but it lets water in. For shoes i use boots frome kitesurf suit, and if you step in water, then sitt inside kayak, some time later, you legs will be wet. Alsough if you make escimo rolls, be ready than suit aspecialy at neck side will let water in. So its not unfortunately waterproff complitely. Another seakayakers of estonia told me that their suits lett some water inside too.
I am straight:D, but it is a joy to watch this guy, he has awesome control...
Hahahaa, great! :-D :-D
He makes the re-entry and roll look easy !
Hi! Thanks for watching! Yeah, the re-entry and roll..... takes a lot of training but it pays of when you find yourself in the water in the rougher conditions. :-) Cheers, Dimitri
Very skillful 👌 pleasure to watch !
Thank you!😊👌
Corto, práctico y explícito…!!!
Thank you, glad it was usefull.👌😊
What a great video
Thank you!👍😊
2:56 what a sweetheart ...
Yes she is!! No good footage without her! :-) Cheers, Dimitri
Hi Carlos, thanks for watching our videos! This is a custom made P&H Cetus MV, expedition kevlar-carbon lay-up. Check the P&H website for more details. The rear deck of your kayak is higher indeed. Maybe try to get on a bit more to the rear, inbetween a cowboy-scramble and a ladder self-rescue. This could be the solution for you? Also check out videos on self-rescue and mind the details such as a proper setup before starting to get on the back-deck. Best of luck, cheers! Dimitri😉👍😊
Great paddler I ever see
Thank you Chen! :-) Have fun on the water! Cheers, Dimitri
Enjoy your videos and wish I had the boat control you have. Been taking lessons and practicing. Any suggestions on rolling? I tend to panic once upside down...
We had a team member with the same problem. We rarely train in swimming pools so we went to the harbor (the one in the video). We placed two other team members alongside him and his boat and then he felt confident enough to capsize. Since that day, he doens't panic anymore. I hope this helps? Do you have someone to help you out over there? Cheers, Dimitri
And thanks for the compliments! :-)
@@Northseakayak Never panic, the worst that would happen is you become a swimmer and have to do a self rescue. I would suggest goggles and a nose plug, capsize (with friends there) and just hang out for a minute, learn to relax. Ultimately learn to roll like this guy and never be a swimmer again. I firmly believe once you start rolling, you will NEVER panic again.
how many takes as I noticed your hair was dry and blown dried between shots, attention to detail young man, great vid tho, brought this suit having watched the vid
Steve
Haha Steve, you have an eye for detail!😁 It is sometimes hard to make a video with the highest possible quality as we are certainly no professional film crew. Good to hear about the suit. Have it for long? How was the water testing?
Thinking of buying that suit just wandering what you have on your feet
I'm currently using the TYPHOON Regatta 2 boots. If I'm well informed, they will be renewed and given another name. Best is to check the TYPHOON website for details. I like the zipper, which gives a smooth entry for the socks of your dry suit. Way better than a normal surf boot.
@@Northseakayak got my suit today just looking for boots at the moment need something to keep my feet warm as I live in Scotland 🏴
@@mellowfellow100 also very important to avoid punctured socks. Good luck ! 😎👌
@NORTHSEAKAYAK I have otter skin socks 😁
Love all your videos, you have inspiriting skills. I bought the PS330 in no small part because of your videos. I have a question regarding the zips, they are very tough to open and I don't want to force them, should I be concerned?
Hi Michael, Thank you so much! About the zippers; do not forget to lubricate them from time to time, that's very important. Have a try! Cheers 👌👍😊
Крутые перцы)
Thank you!😊
How does this suit compare to the ps440 and which of the 2 would u keep
Hi there, That is a difficult question as they are both good suits. You probably have seen the differences between them yourself already? The Sea Kayak suit is specifically for us, sea kayakers. Placements of the pockets is fine, comfortable suit,.... The PS440 on the other hand is designed for both kayaking and sailing, and aim at rough water. I think I would chose the Sea Kayak dry suit, but the PS440 has the advantage that you can unzip the whole collar and hood when weather is becoming warmer after the winter..... Again, it's a difficult question and I would advise you to fit them both properly in a store. Cheers, Dimitri
Great but it's definitely different when you got waves & jetskis & boats around ..
Haha, yes it is different, but fun! It's more difficult to film it then! :-D Cheers, Dimitri
Классный костюм! Дорогой?
Nice suit! Dear?
What are the make / model of the kayak shoes?
Hi Mark, I use Magic Marine Ultimate boots, these are the new models: www.magicmarine.com/products/footwear/ultimate-2-boot/#kleur_070707Cheers, Dimitri
When I fall out I can’t back in 😂
Maybe take some classes, there's a whole new world waiting for you once you got the hang of it. Cheers!😎👍👌
Hey Dimitri , looks like an amazing drysuit . Is there a distributer in Canada or the US , or is it ship direct from the factory ?
Hi Klaus, Can't give you the answer to that, sorry. There are two distributors here in Belgium. Better send an email to TYPHOON directly, or cantact them via their Facebook page, so you are informed correctly. Cheers, Dimitri
I got the link you sent and saw some of the older units as well , but this new one might be the best of all of them .
I gave up on wet suits ...my marine schedule means i have to paddle outside of the normal warm season so a drysuit is best.
Glad you like it. Over here, we are wearing drysuits during the colder months, starting from october-november until april-may. During the summer we still wear LongJohns. Cheers, Dimitri
@@Northseakayak well the oceans have a lot more water mass than our lakes , our southern Lakes are quite reasonable and can be paddled in a skin suit .
Big northern lakes are cold all year around especially below the thermocline .
So as long as the top 6 feet or so stay heated its swimmable but if a storm mixes the thermocline then it is very cold .
Best thing to do on expeditions is to bring a drysuit even if one doesnt use it .
Winter time our lakes ice up so it becomes only a salt water issue. We in Ontario are miles away from salt water .
Oh, I didn't know, thanks for the heads up! Over here, there is just a small difference (2°c) between coastal and open sea water.
The company calls the neck gasket "Glideskin". Is it waterproof like the Kokatat suits or is it a "semi dry" product. I do a lot of in water demonstrations, and activities, when I am coaching and training, mostly in cold water.
Hi Jeff, We were a bit prejudiced ourselves when Typhoon asked is to field test a suit with neoprene gaskets instead of latex. No problems so far, and we spend a lot of time in the water practising. 👌💦😊
@@Northseakayak Thank you very much. I am over in Canada and I have been speaking with an importer about one of these. I might give it a try. Happy paddling.
@@177kayak that is great news! You're not talking to Robert Vlug by coincidence, to import those suits? 😊
Eastern Outdoors?
@@Northseakayak Yes, it is. ??
Dik hoorr!
