The fact it ended with Megamind was really amazing like there's a bad guy who actually redeem himself. Like proof there's a hope.

@@zacglover3345He’s not though. He was deliberately and actively hunting down Puss in Boots to kill him himself despite explicitly acknowledging that Puss’s time had not yet come. And he’s called out on the fact that that’s against the rules of his job and acknowledges it but doesn’t care.
Mostly because he was sure Puss would have wasted that life anyway, until he saw for himself that Puss now values his life at the end.
I love how Jimmity looked upset af at Ken because not only his 'villain story' is super basic and stupid, but because as he said his gf left him for a bee, like if it was some crazy and nonsense crap, Jimmity turns super offended as well, he himself is a bug aswell
I wouldn’t call it basic. I can’t think of any other movie where someone gets cucked by a insect of all things.
I mean ken is atleast sane person because nobody questioned how did bee talk or even communicate with human in first place.

Ive come to realise that Dreamworks villains are probably some of the best villains in most animated films today, and while some them dont always work they at least commit to being evil with great execution and characterisations. Though other animated studios produce good even fantastic villains, Ill still probably take the majority of Dreamworks animated viilains

I think Ethical Bug would've been able to mentor Ken from the Bee Movie. He never really did anything bad aside from trying to kill Barry, which is an understandable reaction to seeing a bee in your apartment. And it's also understandable that he'd be upset losing his girlfriend to a bee.
He probably wasn't intended to be sympathetic given that he IS kind of a jerk. But the bizarre circumstances make him come off as one. Really, he's just a broken bird who needs some therapy and pushing in the right path.
He did try to kill Barry even after he revealed his intelligence later in the film.

To be fair Ken wasn’t really a villain just an antagonist to Barry.
Imagine you have a good job and qualities . You’re working towards a flower shop with your girlfriend then a talking bee ruins everything .
It turns out your girlfriend (and everyone else)is insane and with this bee almost collapsed all the ecosystems on earth.
To bee fair, Ken did try to kill Barry even after he revealed his sentience! Regardless of how you feel about Barry or the movie in general that still counts as attempted murder of what is basically a tiny human, that being said I think the joke here is less due to the fact that Ken is “irredeemable” and more the fact that ethic bug took offence to him implying that no one should leave a human for a bee (due to the fact that he’s an insect as well).

Death is not much of a villain. He’s more of an antagonist who’s just doing his job.
While true for most of his line of work, trying to kill Puss before the end of his 9th life was still against the rules of the universe, and therefore, is a VERY villainous deed.

The Talking Cricket was created by Carlo Collodi in 1883. And The Lion King hardly the first work of fiction to take the phrase “king of beasts” literally. While killing the king and exiling his son goes back at least to William Shakespeare and Saxo Grammaticus before him.

Dreamworks has the best villains in animated movies, but the only bad thing is the series they make from those movies.

A freaking perfect... *PERFECT* little video showcasing that Dreamworks has had some of the most wonderfully despicable and deliciously evil villains in mainstream animation history for at least the past decade.
Sure some of them went down the Disney formular of being twist villains but they did it better for 2 reasons
A: They didn't reveal it with only 10 minutes of the film remaining *cough* Zootopia and Frozen *cough* They actually gave the antagonists enough screentime to be shown as the captivating characters they are.
B: Many of them were either; better written, better designed, better voice acted etc.
I also love how you showcased how many of them had different objectives and tragic sides to their backstories.
Lord Farquaad was ostracised for being short and a freak so he overthrew the monarchy and banished all freakish things from his kingdom.
Tai Lung was denied what he felt was his birthright and his own father turned against him which pushed him over the edge.
Makunga was.... ok well he accidentally shot an actor on set so that's pretty evil.
and then there's Marmalade...
Now don't get me wrong we all love Puss in Boots The Last Wish (obviously) But it's a shame that Horner and Death overshadowed just how wonderfully evil and quite hilarious Professor Marmalade was. This saint like guy who had this massive ego just burning below the surface. So unassuming and at the same time diabolical. I loved him in The Bad Guys. But then again I love all villains in media i read or watch.
But still... Blunt Brothers bad guys video is a treat.

Of the villains, I think the guy from the bee movie is the most redeemable. I’d be pissed two if my gf left me for a literal insect. (Though, I haven’t seen the movie, just going on what little I know.) Edit: I don’t count Mega mind because he already got his redemption arc.
See in the Bee Movie, Barry B. Benson (Jerry Seinfeld as a Bee) has romantic fantasies about a human girl named Vanessa which he never once tells her about and they never actually enter a romantic relationship with one another. Vanessa is quite (understandably) disturbed when she’s asked if Barry is “your little bed bug”. And Vanessa dumps her boyfriend Ken after he full blown tries to kill Barry, who they both know is a talking anthropomorphic bee at that point.
