Thank God that finally people are taking about the movie that I'm huge fan of since 2011! The movie that made me SRK fan. He was the one who brought something new to the Indian cinema at that time. The movie was perfectly alright imo but majority of the people had issues with the storyline but i found it acceptable as it was superhero film. Anyways it's getting the appreciation now which it totally deserves:)

Irony is that we didn't appreciate the efforts that time. I enjoyed the movie a lot but i have seen many people were making fun of Ra1 that time.

Hats off to the vision of SRK. He never compromised in production quality and the standard of VFX Red Chillies has set hasn't yet been surpassed by any other in Bollywood with Ra One, Fan, Zero - Hats off. Probably only Brahmastra came close.
Yes, Ra One story wasn't that good, but still overall the film was an entertaining watch. People were way too harsh on the film. If people supported this in 2011, the scenario of Indian VFX would have been different today.
I hope the sequel of Ra One comes one day, with a good story and better direction.

As a kid, I was never disappointed with the VFX of Ra-one. It was just the story which I think let it down
They forcefully unnecessarily put Bollywood masala in 2nd half. All intensity then gone. If they would've kept intensity like 1st half movie could be more bigger. Am sure srk won't release 2nd part. And if they release they will put Bollywood masala in that so no hopes

Ra-one might not be the best movie but I really enjoyed the movie and also played ra-one game on ps2 . It still suprises me that they haven't made a sequel yet. I feel there are some peculiar similarities between The Amazing Spiderman 2 and Ra-one .Both have good vfx , story a bit weak , underappreciated and gets applauded by audiences years after .

Absolutely. It was way ahead of it's time. I believe there was a lack of audience at that point of time which could appreciate this film. The superhero boom was still in it's nascent stage inspite of Batman and Spiderman trilogies. Us being kids at that time could not appreciate the efforts. Had this film released now it would have been a revelation.

I was 10 yrs old when Ra-One movie came out. I was a huge fan of it since then. So much that I had watched it in theaters twice at that time, Mummy se zidd karke 😂. But it didn't get the appreciation it deserved. So happy that it is getting recognition now after all these years. Fingers crossed for a sequel.

Ra One def deserves a better sequel.....perhaps a crossover with Krishh or other superheroes...it would be so amazing if this happens.
Edit: Yes Robot was released earlier but it was also a blockbuster.....and personally for me story of RaOne was better Robot....RaOne's story was just not executed well....and second half could've been better but I feel the First half of Raone is still better than that of Robot's.
S.Shankar who made ROBOT(2010) bought this kind of concept 1year before Bollywood RaOne(2011)

Story was good but it failed in execution
In my opinion the story is good enough for 1st part and it had potential to establish a vast universe (there was game-verse too)
things that can be improved for better reception was -
-to cut Rajini sir cameo or make it better
-include the ragging scene of Pratik which was deleted
-Remove some dialogues which are not appropriate for family audience and remove forced funny scenes
Otherwise it was good,also the tech which is shown in starting which brings virtual things - alive that should have been explored more
AI and the technology which brings virtual characters to real was something which was new atleast in Indian cinema

1:55 Vfx should only be used when real setup cannot be done. Like raone and Jurassic park original are quite good examples. In Jurassic park they actually made the giant t-rex in the scene with the kids which made it look terrifying.

Ra-One was my 1st 3D film in theatre. And it remained favorite film of all time until I watched sam raimi's Spider-Man One year later...
Just one correction, 3D virtual objects are made up of Voxels and not Pixels.

@@spectoreditx666 you're wrong there. You see Ra one and G one belongs to 3D game, and 3D games doesn't have pixels. Pixels are used in 2D game, 3D games have voxels.. So it was just a lil mistake by mohit, no big deal tho. + that cube particle elements looks sick in Ra one

Both 2d and 3d stuff are constructed using pixels coz thats what the picture element is to display anything on your screen.This is where Rasterization comes in whose job is to transform the 3d objects into pixels so that they can be filled up on screen. Voxels are volumetric pixel physically representing like cubes though and used in games like minecraft and falls into a very enormous art aesthetics category. The only reason I wrote this was to correct the incorrect of yours whr you said " 3d games do not have pixels".
@@Dev12351 in rendering and 3D image processing we use voxels and then the surface, volumetric characteristics of each voxel can be processed individually. What i meant to say was a Pixel is a square, and a Voxel is a Cube. Hence my point Ra One when was getting back into his form where the cubes get integrated together is a representation of each voxel coming together.

When u watched ran-one as a kid i liked it a lot like i was a fan of srk and was always exited for his movie and i really didn't understand why that movie is getting hate i was around 11-12 year old then so didn't bother with the hate but now that i think about it ra-one was one of the best movie i saw a kid in Indian cinema (i m from Bangladesh but i usually always watched India movies back then) the creativity a d style was great and as i said fan of srk so always liked him in the movie
4:14 another example could be Denis villeneuve director of Dune, Timoothe Chalmet himself said that he appeared on green screen only 2 times otherwise every shot was recorded on real locations and if I remember then Dune won 6 oscars last year including for best cinematography and Visuals as well.
Dune deserve karta hai real location pe shoot. Saare novels ka overall theme useless ho jayega agar bohot saare studio shots hue toh.
Loved ra one since it's release did the chammakchalo dance in school week and won first prize so for me ra one is not just a movie it's an emotion
