As someone who wants to get into CNC himself someday, I know I’d appreciate you taking us along with your own learning process. For all the resources that are available, it can still be a bit intimidating for the novice.
Good! Because I'll likely be posting some CNC videos as I learn. It's definitely intimidating but I'm more of a technical guy so hopefully it comes easy.
Hey Tommy - I just found this channel now while looking for some inspiration for a finish booth for my garage. I work in software for my day job and haven't had the time to put towards UA-cam, either. In fact, my last video was along the same lines as this one - discussing what's coming up that I still haven't edited + posted. Funny how life throws us curveballs. Hope you are well and best of luck with RedCart - it looks like a great platform!
Glad to see back on. Your sit/stand desk inspired me to build my own using linear actuators. Thank you for these great video! Also I look forward to your lumber cart video!
Welcome back, Tommy! I started with you in the early days, and I built the radial arm saw workstation and mobile workbenches, thanks to you! Looking forward to more of your work.
Thanks John! How are you liking your RAS workstation and rolling workbenches? I tell ya...I'm still loving mine especially with the extension wings that I added. Those were so nice to have when building the t-shirt display cabinet. That cabinet was modular but the pieces were so big that sometimes I needed a huge table and other times needed a smaller table and those two rolling workbenches were perfect because I could spread them apart or put them closer together to get exactly what I needed. Having the large gap in between was also nice when I needed to clamp in the middle of the tables.
@@TommyTompkins Tommy:. I really think the design of all of those tables was very well done. I bought a copy of the Mr Sawdust book, and used that to fine tune the radial arm saws. I'm saying saws, plural, because I actually put two side by side on a very long table. One is set up with a single blade for cross cuts and miters, and the other is set up with a dado blade. It makes for very efficient work, particularly when putting dadoes in pieces for constructing shelves and cabinets. I'll try to get some pictures for you!
So cool to see you back! Very impatient to see your next projets!
I am so happy your back and in good health look forward to the next video. God bless you and your family stay safe. From Bill at B&D Woodworking.
Just found this channel and binge-watched most of your videos. I'm also a software dev with a bad back (probably an occupational hazard) and a radial arm saw that I inherited from my grandfather (actually a bunch of other woodworking tools too). I'm planning to setup a workshop in my garage and love your ideas for the space-saving RAS and feed tables. I'm hoping to use some of your ideas for my shop. Thanks for making these videos. Good luck with your business! I hope you still put some videos out from time to time as well.
Thanks for watching Greg! I've been busy with my core business (redcart.com) but I plan on getting some new videos out soon.
Absolutely beautiful display cabinets! I hope that you received appropriate compensation for all of that hard work........... 👍👍😉😉
Thank you Steve! It was a lot more work than I anticipated. If I was to do it all over again I'd probably have to charge double lol!
I’d love a post-covid video.
I hope you and your loved ones are going gang busters.
🇦🇺🤜🏼🤛🏼😎🍀🍀🍀
Good to see you back. Been too long. Be well!
Good to see you back, Tommy. Display looks great. That CNC would have been nice to use for it. Lots of work the old fashioned way! Looking forward to any/all projects you have coming up. Also, interested in your photography if you have an IG for that, for your pics and gear, etc. I’d love to check out your portfolio if you have it up. Had no idea you were a pro. Very cool. Thanks. Troy
Thanks Troy! I like the old fashioned way, but agree that the CNC could have helped speed things up considerably! In regards to my portfolio, I don't really have it posted anywhere because I'm not trying to take on new clients as my repeat clients keep me busy. I left the corporate world in 2007 as a java developer to work full time as a professional wedding and portrait photographer and did this for a few years as I built redcart.com for other wedding and portrait photographers. Back then, social media wasn't as big so I used to have all my stuff posted only on my web site. As the years passed by I transitioned away from working full time as a professional photographer to working full time with redcart.com. I still do some photo work with weddings, portraits, band photos / posters...etc but it's mostly for friends, family, and old clients. But I'm really trying to focus more on RedCart, Lift Bridge Furniture, and this UA-cam thing.
It's been 3 years since you ADR surgery, how you feeling now? I live in Germany and have DDD and pain everyday? At the moment I am researching and trying to speak to the people who have had this surgery to see how they feel after a few years. Would be good to see you in a new video talking about ADR.
I’m considering a trip to Germany for a 2 level ADR. Would you be willing to chat via phone about your experience, your short ad longer term outcome and whether you would do the procedure again?
Hope you're coming back soon
My advice for CNC: Learn Fusion 360. Same environment, you do CAD and CAM in the same file.
What happened to this channel?
Unsubscribing. You tube shut down comments on the White House channel but will not do the same to biden, political discrimination is wrong and I am preparing to leave you tube. I have enjoyed you videos and wish you well in the future
Hey Tony - thank you for taking the time to write this and let me know that you enjoyed my videos. It's a sad state that we're all currently living in. I hope that when all the dust settles, you'll be back. Take care.
Hope to see more content on the shop, particularly the radial arm saw. Started my shop building journey with a 925 and your plans for the tables. Thanks. Good stuff.
