yes… I remember that i like to watch scary(which is not) herobrine caught on camera while playing minecraft, like PYRAMID came out of nowhere, queasy ambience, a forest without a leaves, most likely herobrine’s appearance(Of course). Now it just a bunch of monster school video. The time went really quick
You didn’t know this is very creepy because this is a backrooms Minecraft liminal spaces they are dangerous some of liminal spaces aren’t dangerous and their not dangerous levels they are kind of creepy monsters
Yeah, most of that places aren't creepy at all. These builds are just empty, waiting to be finished when you came back with enough materials. And that's just a normal Minecraft gameplay
I just.....it just......I don't even know how to describe the feeling that this video gives me. The images, old textures and especially the music all just give off nostalgic vibes. I think there's one sentence that describes it kinda well though; I'm homesick.
@OsirisMawn For me, it's like a mix between the Mandela effect and the uncanny valley. Places that seem normal and familiar, but at the same time, are somewhat strange.
Minecraft, especially single player, actually already kinda feels like a liminal space. You’re completely alone with nothing but unintelligent mobs, an endless expanse of blocks, and infinite things to do, but there’s barely any ambience. No bird sounds, wind sounds, other intelligent creatures, or anything to keep you company. It feels like something is missing everywhere you go, and nothing you build can ever change that
This video actly reminds me to my old minecraft world (i forgot whats version is) that which is i made like a parkour challange from wool pillar, basic the biome theme, and above the last challange, there is a rainbow wool tunnel and so much dark oak door i put on it and no torch. And when we open all the doors and seeing through the first to the end of the tunnel, dark, cold, lonely, nostalgia, happy, i feel it so much. I miss the world:(
I actually WANT my worlds to look and feel like this I sometimes travel really far distances and build things in a really obscure area in the hopes that someday ill accidentally rediscover and have a liminal/nostalgic feeling Sometimes i bury builds underground, too. like i used a nether portal to go somewhere far away i dont recognise with a bunch of iron and i built a prison underground and completely sealed it in smooth stone. Just in the hopes that i might mine into it one day and rediscover it. Also when I feel like "starting over" instead of making a new world, I just relocate HELLA far away and rebuild. You're given a practically unlimited space, might as well use it. this is honestly such a fun way to play that it feels intended. Randomly searching around for a village and you swim past a build you made 2 years ago you forgot about. It's awesome
All of them make you want to think there is something in that liminal space with you, even just a simple hostile mob to break this ever building tension, but there is nothing God I love a good liminal space
The one at 0:50 has such an amazing feel to it. Was a great idea to put it so high up that there's just nothing but the gradient of the sky outside the window.
All you can hear is the overwhelming buzzing of the lights. Your sanity is down to 5 + 0.001i % and all you have is a flashlight. Can you uncover the deep secret of these nerve-wracking spaces? You shall decide.
My dreams make me feel like im in a liminal space irl, sometimes a snow dream would tink like i was already there looking at these trees in winter, or a white building with many windows and light shining in through them.
Imagine this. You’re playing Minecraft, an alpha version, where the trees and grass are bright green still. It’s nighttime, and you’re walking home from a successful mining trip, trying to get home quickly, so no monsters will spawn. You make it home successfully, and just before going to bed, you see something out of the corner of your eye. You look out your blocky window, and say, “Oh. It’s just a pig.” But after getting into bed, you see from out that pixelated window, two glowing white eyes…
Minecraft has an inherent liminal space feel to it imo. It's what made me leave over time - I loved that part of its charm, but combined with playing solo it exhacerbated my loneliness and existencial dread :')
i never thought liminal spaces re-created in minecraft would make me feel anything, yet here we are
I was about to say the same thing
Minecraft itself is actually a liminal space

@OsirisMawn For me, it's like a mix between the Mandela effect and the uncanny valley. Places that seem normal and familiar, but at the same time, are somewhat strange.

that modern aesthetic done in Minecraft is one of the most nostalgic and depressing things i have ever seen
After playing for so many years. This is both comforting and unsettling like the feeling of being watched like in the old days...
This is the best liminal spaces mande in minecraft compilation i've seen, ggs

You know there is an option in the settings where you can go back to old lighting, right?

Some of them are insanely nostalgic
This is one of the best of your works to be honest.

I dont know why but 0:13 invokes a deep nostalgia in me for some reason.
the first one genuinely creeps me out, its like when you have to go to the bathroom in midnight.
The only ones that made me feel anything are the ones in older versions
0:13 i jumped bc i thought a monster was in tat forest
Kinda reminds me of buildings made by players on a server that i played.... looks kinda depressing since the server is gone 10 years ago...
this isnt scary or creepy, this feels good and nostalgic...

These are all oddly nostalgic.
IT'S THE BACKROOMS!
Minecraft isn't just a game it's alternate reality that we all experienced as a kid
It’s certainly special and like nothing else that came before it
As someone who played minecraft wii u edition (wich is in a pretty old version) the music of this video and the builds made me cry.
These feelings give me the vibe . That I had a life before this life. Like these images feel like I’ve been there… It Felt so interstellic
i got nostalgic memories from this video but i never made that memories
i like the way the screen looks slightly active where like small areas move around really weirdly
Fun fact: You can pretty easily make virtually infinite hallways using always active repeating command blocks and the clone command
