Just saw Lee in an old "Cheyenne" episode, "Trouble Street," also starring James Coburn. Imagine those two voices together with Clint Walker's!

Movies, then TV, now streaming... so many opportunities, so you need a lot of actors. Especially character actors, who make stories work. Even back in 1980... so much going on.

When Patrick McGoohan tells somebody he's done, he resigned, he quit....It becomes a life quest. I'm sure i'm not alone in seeing the deeper meanings portrayed by his strength of character. It's almost that of a super hero yet comming from a regular mortal who means what he says and does what he believes is right....for him.

The Hard Way (1980 film) British TV movie with John Boorman producing. Seems to have been shot in Ireland and the studio is now called Ardman and best known for its animation. I looked up the film but the first try was a John Badham film with the wrong cast.

Well he created and wrote a lot of it so of course he was right for it. Great series. I just wish he wrote a better finish. He seems to have had a real problem writing it and then rushed it because he was out of time. The identity of Number One makes no sense at all.

Born Clarence Leroy Van Cleef Jr. The Van Cleef family of New Jersey, Lee's family, have a strange history. According to the book "Weird NJ". he was a descendant of the Morris County Van Cleefs who were infamous in the area for their strange living and "procreational" efforts. In fact, one trait that Lee had was that he had one green eye and one blue eye. According to the book, "this telltale characteristic was corrected in the movies with colored contact lenses".
