- No talking, building an entire small off grid cabin from start to finish using a sawmill by hand. The FULL BUILD can be seen here: www.youtube.co...?list=PLDg2Qmw9pKidP83tB6L6rQieRe7bdS8K6
We are now working on the outhouse: • Building Outhouse at O...
Norwood Portable Sawmill: www.norwoodsaw...
We show everything from setting and digging the pillars, cutting the 2x4's, ripping siding, cutting roof trusses, installing the metal roof, installing windows, chimney, wood stove, decking and building the front door.
We use a Norwood hd36 portable sawmill to make nearly all the materials for this build from locally sourced timbers.
We use ash, cedar, and pine for most of the structure and siding.

Please follow along with the full playlist in order to understand the full construction of the tiny cabin.
In this series we use materials around us to construct a small forest cabin.
We'll use cedar, pine, ash, maple, and whatever else we can scrounge up from the 30 acres around us. The aim is to avoid using as much store bought material as possible and keep the budget reasonably low.
Originally we set a budget of $1000, but that included the use of a frame from an old camper trailer. As we build, the budget will remain flexible in effort to produce a cabin that we are proud of and one that will last a long while, be comfortable, and sleep real human beings.

The Wooded Beardsman oh sweet and heck yea let’s go Maine
Btw nice little cabin
🤘💪🙂👍👌
I'm really looking forward to that.
Looking forward to it 👍
my goodness that car.. improvised truck.. amazing lol
Lmao
Nice
Love the cabin build. Retired professional builder here in Maine , I know all the codes and heard you read the ugly comments but your little cabin is solid and sound. Let the ugly comment people go somewhere else. Enjoyed watching your team, energized to build again and have just discovered a channel I will be spending more time on. Keep it going. Allen Holley
Love the portable lumber mill.
That opens up so many possibilities for what you build away from civilization.
Especially if you have lots tall, straight trees around you.
..i saw it for the first time..
Finally someone that doesn’t lie and act like they built this whole thing with their bare hands
“I built this 500ft castle with only a stick!”
That cut off car is the best thing ever.
It's a Suzuki SX4
People have been cutting off cars to make trucks, since shortly after cars were invented. There is a 1932 five window Model A coupe with the rumble seat removed to add in an early 1930s Ford truck box, in a junkyard in Marquette County, Michigan.
I love it also goes in tight places well thought of.
i owned one in NZ...almost cried when i saw how they chopped it up lol
Back in the early 80's my brother worked at a SAAB dealership, they had a hatchback that was cut up and used as a pickup truck.
I did a project like this back in the early 90s I could say I overbuilt the building every 12 inches on center and double plated trusses the oversize playhouse is still standing today. Keep up the great work don’t let the haters run you down
Loved the wood, how they measured everything, and the snow coming down during building was fantastic. Looked like fun.
This is sheer beauty I am a carpenter of 25 years and I appreciate the reclaiming the dead forest would to build your cabin I commend you sir beautiful woodwork to.
I love the no talking in the video. I’m able to take in everything at a higher level.
My wife said the same.
in watching what and how they do things it is apparent why they don't talk. Grunts and whistles are hard to understand at a higher level.
Yes, and no annoying music

Idk if you know how dumb this comment was
I just watched the whole series about the cabin. You guys did amazing. You building stuff yourself is one of the greatest tests of self sufficiency, and you passed.
Dont worry about the turds leaving crappy comments, they're idiots and cant do these things themselves.
My grandma got bored one day and decided to build a cabin like this in her back woods for all the cousins to camp out in.
Sounds like your grandma is cool asf
Oh, so cool
sounds like bullshit

I enjoyed watching y'all build this little cabin in the woods. The hammering of nails in the wood, the sounds of the crackling bonfire, and the crunching of snow under your boots... ... ...plus, the little ones at the end of the video hearing their laughter.. .. Thank you!
Not much talking but a very hard-working group of guys terrific and well done
I actually enjoyed every minute of this even though I will probably never build a cabin. I was actually sewing a project while watching this video because I can do two things at a time. LOL I love watching things being built. I used to watch my father build things when I was a child. The snow kind of took me back to Maine where I grew up. I love the smell of sawdust. I have a small woodworking shop where I do small projects. I learned a lot from this video about the animals, recycling, as well as woodworking and I like how you handled the negative commenters who offer no contribution whatsoever. I get that too on some of my DIY UA-cam projects. On the same video I can get lots of praise but there will always be those who want to educate me and tell me everything I did wrong and how my videos can be better. At least some people can do that in a nicer way. I think I will adopt your policy of ignoring those unkind and rude commenters as well. This was really fun to watch. Oh, and they guy cooking his egg - I was actually impressed how well he flipped that egg in such a small skillet. He’s got skills. Mine would have flopped onto the floor.
Oh yeah, nothing like chainsaw asmr to put me to sleep

@Маркус Пауэлл hammering really? 😅
this minecraft pov looks so realistic😍
i built my first shelter on my channel and that was really hard to make. i’m only 17 but still i couldn’t imagine building a whole cabin AND filming it!
He had some help but ya super nice job and pretty damn fast for 2 or 3 guys
Michael Cooper yeah still
@@michaelcooper8139. I think they had 25 days into this. They said 25 days, but I’m not sure what content amount they were referring to. It’s a lot longer that I thought with four guys, projects go that way though.
Life really does go in cycles & we're back to having REAL men MAKING THEIR OWN SHELTER out of what is given to us !
Love that you finally did this I know it took a lot of time to edit but it was worth it 👍👂
You guys are genius! You make it look so simple but I know that is very hard work you guys put in, thank you so much for filming!
No word just work.....well done..and off course the cutting car is the best part of this cabin..
Definitely it’s the best type of videos, random question is your name Brazilian? it’s a nice name
Бауырымау ерiнбей тугел тусiрiпсiн гой. Барi тамаша 👍 жарайсын 👍👍👍👌
I bet you guys felt good getting home relax in the warm and ate a good dinner after hard days work making this cabin 😎👍
Great use of well seasoned trees
Fantastic work! I loved seeing it come alive and how much skill went into the build. Well done. You ought to be very proud of that.
Brush piles left around are really good for wildlife.
Love the red roof and the Vermont Casting wood stove!
Beautiful build!
Thank you!
You're some kinda adventurer Beardsy!..Way to go man!🤓.
Minimal cost, good team work guys.
Congratulations. My dream is to build a wooden house myself. For now, I am fulfilling this dream with your videos.
That lumber pro is siiiick
Just wondering how long would that woods stand the weather. And finally, glad to hear people talking in the end.
I could watch you guy for hours, love the cabin!
I am surprised you didn't place some sort of barrier before placing wood siding onto exterior walls? Insulation and/or vapor barrier?
If there are no interior walls or insulation, you don't need a vapour barrier.
Monk mode construction....! Faaantastic !
This was incredibly inspiring and fascinating to watch! Thank you!
Miss Cassandra kind of makes you want to go out into the woods and build one...
This is a awesome video. And a Very cute Cabin. Makes me wish i had one. Little boy is so adorable.
Damn, you guys found an incredible equipment and tools in the forest, otherwise it would be so tough to make a cabin.... Lucky you 🙏
this isn’t a survival video just some cool building content chill
@@zee9731 woooow, are you helping everyone like this, to see the right path, and also their mistakes...? 🤔

Love the “truck”. Awesome. Great build. Great vid. Thanks
Beautiful workmanship!
It's not finished...inside. Hopefully you'll do that soon, I'm looking forward to seeing how it comes out. It's so cozy :-)
Best use of a Suzuki SX4 I've ever seen.
maybe if I watch this 10x it will snow in AUGUST!!! Summer is so boring and buggy. Snow for the win:)

Boring
You are ALL true craftsmen! Excellent and beautiful build. Congrats! 💕❤💖
Beautiful little cabin in the woods. Everyone should have one. Well at least me anyways. LOL.. Great job guys !
That is one strong cabin. Glad to see the roof is non-flammable.
Nothing is more relaxing than grown men playing Minecraft in some Forrest in ASMR.
Dang that's a bad arse mill, it rips through those logs faster than anyone iv ever seen
Video just made me feel useless but inspire at the same time
You guy's are awesome!!

Great good looking and cosy cabin!
Bro this video is crazy good quality
Ahhh yes. Nothing gets the tingles going quite like a chain saw ❤️
Geesh!! I wish had those skills, Im like a Tim Allen ( female version) , Shalom everyone ❤️
Shalom!
Love the Little truck it’s sharp
So good house, my dream is to build log cabin in the forest by myself!
I miss doing building stuff like this. I was out camping in my old cabin i made yrs ago and its still standing.. I call it a cabin but looks nothing like this beautiful! Mines more nature and survivalist mode.
YOU GUYS REMINDED ME THOSE CARACTERS OF ´´THE COYOTE´´ AND ´´THE SHEPPERD DOG´´, NO TALKING UNTIL END OF THE DAY AND WORK IS DONE... GOOD WORK !!!
Except they’re not trying to kill each other.
yep
congrats folks, what a lovely house....you can be proud!
6:52 he think like : RUN FOR U'R LIFEEEE !!! 🤣
Haha looks like he's pushing other dude outta the way 😂
Yas
I love watching you and your family build, I sat and watched the whole 4hour show! Thank you for sharing 😊
that cut off car !!!! damn...😂😂😂😂
The Yaris(?) truck killed me but I can see how it'd be useful as a workhorse. Smaller so it can get farther into the woods, more fuel-efficient, and if it gets mired you and a friend can just lift the back end up and get back to business 😂
Really like y’all channel. It kinda makes me want to build my own house now.
I love watching cabin builds
Fast and good, you can see they are professionals
the best part is when you see it after a year or 4 of aging
I absolutely loved this video. Did not stop until it was completed. Thank you guys for a wonderful video.
Nice house u build love ur vids ❤️
Absolutely fantastic build with the beautiful little person in pink to cap off the ending 😊❤️🇺🇸
Great build, but I am concerned about your choice of sub flooring.
Be OK if it doesn't get damp, but if the cabin is left unheated all winter the floor will disintegrate.
I was thinking the same thing, why cheap out after all that work?
Hella beeswax would be a good save
I love these new airless nail guns! My pops got a set and wow...so convenient and quick!
Do you treat the wood whit anything or not ? Thank you very much for your time and God bless you
Electoral College is good
A real dream of mind is to build a cabin. Time to get to work. Great job. You guys are incredible. Love you’re content!
That chopped car is beyond 😂 hilarious... I love it... all that expensive equipment no pickup truck
Very nicely built cabin makes me want to build one
you know I love the build, but typically if you have a particle board sub-floor you should get a roof and walls over it to prevent it from getting ruined by water and snow before working on the porch.
I wonder if they sealed it once it was up 🤔 They are pretty intelligent guys so I'm sure they figured something out. But I agree with you! That's important!
It's very good because there are a lot of woods...!!!
Just found yall. Great video !! This kinda stuff is what I want the wife to agree to do ,but she wont !! Living off grid and Tiny House/Cottage stuff !Awesome video !!Are all yall family doing the work ?
Sorry because if she’d try it she might enjoy it
The Butane torch to light the stove was a nice touch ! LOL
How do you mitigate rot for the foundation 6x6’s? Would it have been better to bring in a few bags of cement and stone for just that part?
That and laying plastic underneath to help keep moisture out. Great work, looks fantastic. I just hate seeing it go to waste within a a couple of years
It would take a long time for pressure treated 6x6s to rot and I doubt concrete would set well being that cold. Maybe concrete in the bottom of the hole and rocks the rest of the way up.
This is awesome! Now, how are you gonna keep the pests from eating up all that wood? Moss, mold, termites..... - its so satisfying to watch this. Looks like you took a vehicle that had some damage and make it into a tool vehicle. Handy.
Sawzall: When you need a truck, but don't want to pay those high truck prices!

Good job for the construction of this little cottage !!
Good job !!
Please, what do you use as a species of fir ?
Thanks in advance !

Every single shot of this is so satisfying 👌
this must be the coldest cabin ever, no insulation, straight wood paneling and a single wood burner. That's something
They insulate in another video. Search. The jury is still out on if that is enough wood stove or not.
I definitely would have gotten a bigger stove. It isn't much fun to use a cabin without a good stove.
Many in the comments think the stove is too big. That’s not what I’ve seen.
Very beautiful home indeed.
NICE WORK, CIAO DA ITALY!!
Rustic,beatiful.
Very cool but agree with others. After 1st minute was wondering why all that work but put the foundation posts in dirt where they are going to rot out under it ?
Treated posts.
The cabin is made from mostly materials found in the environ, one thing that surprises one is the dry wall inside! To each his own.
You mean particle board?
You tube - “how many ads do you want in this video?”
The wooded beards man “yes”
This guys are incredible professionals. Congratulations!
I love how if they’re out of 2x4s they just mill their own lumber. Then again they made a truck out of a car lmaoooo. Awesome!
Cabin is badass congrats man 🔥🙏🏽
Thanks for your vids!
..great work! I wish I was their to have helped!
