I thought I had a mini Aussie this whole time but turns out I have a toy haha, 17 lbs and 12 inches tall! She’s all the fun in the world and really smart!
I got my two aussies from a rescue. Had to take them together as they are bonded... best decision of my life. Some redneck had them and couldn't keep up, so now they have family and tasks! We have a male and a female and they have such different personalities, buts its so fun seeing their aussie traits spike. We actually just got their DNA tests done and the male is 100% herding dog and the female is a huge mix.
I just got a toy aussie and he is the littlest thing ever! He’s only about 6 months old and only around 6in tall maybe 8lbs! He also has one blue and one hazel eye!
@@mariana7802 he can walk / run for hours or he can be a lazy pup. Pretty much the best ever. Love him so much. I have a few videos of him on my channel
I got my toy tri red in mid Feb, and I have had high energy work dogs before , blue heelers , and border collies , so high energy was no surprise. I got a toy this time , she’ll do a different kind of work , which works out bec this size also loves to cuddle , she learned basic commands the first week at I had her, at 7 weeks , next week she’ll be able to finally go outside and learning new things . I know she’s going to be an awesome part of our retired life ❤fromTX
I feel like my Australian Shepherd is more on the laid-back side and she is a working line Australian Shepherd she loves to explore and she is a Black Tri Mismark Australian Shepherd, so her face and front legs have more white and she has black ears and blue eyes and on her back legs. You can see the tan markings and you can see a little bit tan on her face
It’s awesome to hear about all the different personalities these Aussies have. nova also is more laid back than Stella by A LOT. Like every dog , they all come with their own personalities but it’s cool to see their Aussies come out every now and then :)
That sounds a lot like my standard Aussie but mine has one blue eye and one brown eye with green in it she also have all whit over her blue eye and all black fur over her brown eye., her face is spilt, have whit have black. She is a stock dog as they call them . She does not have the fur or the built of a Show dog. My Aussie is very stocky and very strong and a couch potato. But when I fell one day she came running over and bark until My daughter came out to see if I was ok and my Aussie was only 4 months old at that time. She is a great protector.
Wow, you said 4k for a mini. I got mine for 800. She is so laid back and so smart. I seem to have more energy than she does.. assuming thats just the puppy stage and around 6 montha her inner crazy crazy will come out. Iv only had her for 4 days now and ahe is already potty trained, knows her name, listens 8/10 times on her relocation command, will sit and stay, knows that when i ring the bell and say outside its potty time, and also knows when we are outside and i say leta go inside that its time to head inside.. honestly iv never had a dog this intelligent. She is 9 weeks old. And weighs just under 8lbs.
Aussies are so expensive now!! So you got a good deal not only money wise but they are truly smart dogs. I love them so much 💖 congratulations on your new pup :)
I have a sweet mini Australian shepherd that was given to me. He loves to herd my chickens, my kids, and even me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love him so much. His name is Bear because he’s as soft as a Bear. He’s a red Merle. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have a toy who is 11 years old and a 4 year old mini. With any breed the weight can be higher depending on how big boned they are. My toy is18 lbs and stocky but still can feel her ribs. My mini 42 lbs and still can feel ribs.
I have a mini and he does herding work. He is very high energy and needs just as much exercise as a standard. In my opinion the minis are not good as apartment dogs. They need the space to keep their mind stimulated via exercise.
I have a standard(beginning to think is she standard) but she is 15mos and only weight 30lbs. And she is not that tall, also she don't have a lot fur. So I was wondering will she grow some more? And get more fur? She is brown and white she was merle when I first got her but her color changed so much
30 lbs is a little small. Usually female standard Aussies are 40lbs the least! If you want send us a DM on our Instagram a picture of your pup and we can let you know right away 🙏
The teacup and toy are dogs (Aussie) never should of been sold or breed. The mini started from a rut of the litter that is where they got a mini from. The Standard and mini have the same health issues and the same amount of energy. My Standard Aussie has a beautiful long tail, and she is not slender like a Border Collie although she looks like one. She is a couch potato. All Aussie energy is how they are raised and the family they live with. Some have a lot of energy and some or more laid back. standard and minis are not for first time owners. I have had an Old Time Scotch Collie a Shetland Sheepdog and a Collie(Like Lassie). Aussie are very protected of their owners.
$4000 for a mini?! Holy cow I got lucky 😭 my husband and I are getting our mini for $600. Mom is pure bred standard and dad is pure blue healer, so she’s basically a pure mut which I guess would knock down the price 😂
I have a mini Aussie mini poodle. He was 2000 in 2020- he has a lot of energy and a lot of drive. But he can also take a day to sleep in after 2 years lmao. He is about 25 lbs.
I have a toy Aussie, he’s a fun energetic little thing lol he’s maybe 15-17lbs and the size of my cat, my 2yr old LOVES that he’s perfect for her size 😂
I guess i must have a VERY RARE Austrailian Shepherd...she is fully grown and is only 8" tall and weighs a whopping 6 lbs!!! She was the runt of the litter...her brothers heads were twice the size she is!!! She is merle in olor and has the blue eyes!!!
Is your toy just as hyper as the minis / standard?! I want one but worry I won't fulfill its needs bcus it seems daunting how much people say how crazy they are
I’m getting another puppy and it’s going to be a different breed because my 6 year old dog died from a womb infection and I miss her and my 3 year old dog misses her so much and he is usually hyper but ever since my dog Luna died he hasn’t been the same and so that means I have 1 dog and 1 cat
Australian Shepherds only come in four colours and the Merle Hass to have the tri points. Your dog mixed. They’re still beautiful dogs but probably border collies
Ok buddy go educate yourself they're literally aussies and you cant just tell someone what their dogs breed is. If they got the dog from a good breeder then they know their dogs breed.
you should NOT have to pay more for your aussie depending on the colour if you do then change breeders immediatly as that breeder is just looking to profit off of that dog and does not care about the dog and not a reputable breeder most likely just a byb
I had 2 Standards previously. As my husband and I are in our 60's now, we decided to go smaller. We now have a Toy and a Mini..Great dogs! They tend to adjust to your lifestyle. I play games with them, like hiding a treat and have them go find it. Strangely..both of mine run and hide everyday when I get their harnesses and leashes out..cannot figure it out, as my Standards LOVED walks. Actually I think the first one..the Toy, taught the Mini to go hide. But all and all, I highly recommend Aussies.
