The great earthquake is the mid point after the two witnesses are resurrected Rev 11:11-13 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. 13And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. Matthew tells us when the sun and moon will be darkened and it is after tribulation not before. Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days: ‘The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’ The rapture and tribulation is a collection a harvest and a harvest is not a single it is three distinct portions done at three distinct times. *First fruits:* a small portion of the ripe harvest is presented to God at his earthly temple (we are the temple of God perhaps a vision of God and a task will be given to the first fruits not unlike Paul). *Main body harvest:* This is when the rest of the field is now ripe the owner collects the main portion and brings into his storehouse. *Gleanings:* This is where the stranger (devil) and widow can come into the field and take what they can from the owner's harvest, then at the end the owner can clear his field. A harvest has three distinct collections and three distinct types of collection, the tribulation is God's harvest so we should not think is it pre, mid or post, is it one or the other instead we should understand it is all three but not necessarily in the way we think the pre might not be removed but instead be sealed and protected to be harvest workers the mid may not all be taken to heaven for the most part the end seems straight forward Christ comes and we are gathered to him seems to be the case in any view from what I can tell, the point is we need to use all of scripture to understand and to be balanced in that understanding.
