SKPS Safety Systems

Some of our district campuses have begun installing additional systems and procedures such as reduced entry and exit points, door alerts and window coverings to follow best practices for school safety.
Students and guests will encounter emergency exits. During the school day, all doors are only to be used as emergency exits except for designated entry and exit points. Door alerts will sound if an emergency exit is opened during the school day. This ensures visitors access the building through established check-in and check-out procedures.
In addition, many schools have exterior window coverings, which allow for clear visibility from inside the building, but reduced visibility into schools.
