I had the exact same model in 1975-77 and drove it everyday. I was in high school and bought it from an oil company exec for $2700. Sold it and bought an E-type. Drove that one everyday too. Great cars!
we had a mk 2 in the 60s....100mph cruise in silence...leather seats smell of wood...sublime....no body roll. you could cars approaching....it was a part of the family like a friendly horse
I use my MG in the same way although I’m fortunate not to live in London but the Surrey countryside and I enjoy driving them across common land roads enjoying it with the hood down or I’ve got a GT version for the winter fitted with winter M&S tyres. They’re also used Tours in both the MG Car Club and The HRCR both of which I really enjoy. This is good use of the car and given the very low mileage less than 5,000 miles per annum for both of them my contamination is small. It takes 17 years for the footprint of any of the electric cars to meet the same level of contamination! I notice that you have twin Marchal Senior Fantastic lights take care of them as they’re today worth a lot of money. I recently saw a pair advertised for £1200!

Vorbesitzer war ein junger Mann türkischer Abstammung und daher war die Zahl der Interessent eher klein. Mir war das egal, das Auto machte einen guten leicht angesammelten Eindruck und der Preis war sehr günstig. Mit etwas pflegerischen Einsatz und ein-zwei Werkstattbesuchen war es wieder ein absolutes Schmuckstück und bereitet meiner Frau und mir noch immer das Vergnügen pannenfreier Ausfahrten und Urlaubsreisen von zT. Mehreren 1000 km. Bei steter Wartung und Pflege ein altagstauglicher Traum. Einzige Panne bei einer solchen Fahrt war der Austausch einer Starter-Baterie welche Tage vorher in Deutschland gewechselt wurde, sie hatte einen Plattenschluss. Das war und ist der Grund das wir nun mehrere "Katzen" besitzen und fahren.
it's more enjoyable to drive quickly on a country road when in my 54HP 1953 MGTD than it is in my 240HP 2007 cayman or 380HP vantage. one cannot "be on the edge" and drive at legal or socially responsible speeds in modern cars.
