I picked up my brand new V-19 Combo Tournament Edition with your same motor I believe, 200 XL Pro XS DTS. I will be breaking her in very soon, thanks for the video!
@@FishhookTerry getting the same boat really soon having 9.9 kicker and some fun stuff installed now.. gonna be great .. good to know I've seen 10min intervals for 1k to 2 back 1 then on and on... thank God it has a 47 gallon tank lmao..
Mi_Hookset haha yea it’s so tempting just to hop in and send it with a new boat. But it’s good to do it the right way. Thanks for watching and the comment my man!
Hey buddy I’m looking to purchase this exact boat. I was hoping you would do a review soon. Maybe talk about the pros and cons about everything. Thank you.
This is video is pretty accurate my merc 200 pro xs manual says first 2 hours run it varied throttle up to 4500 rpm and every 10 mins a 1 burst of WOT. Last 8 hrs of break in run it normal varied throttle but avoid WOT for more than 5 mins at a time … Basically just don’t be the piss out of it for the first 10 hrs. Every hour I’d even shut it off and let it cool down for 10-20 mins just for shits and giggles
I've been building engines of all makes/models/applications for 25 years. So much hocus pocus...so little need. The first few strokes are "Breaking in" the rest are "Wearing it out". Camshafts DO need a very specific break in process however the rest of the block really doesn't. you need to bed the cylinders, flex the rings and such but that's done VERY quickly. Every new engine will run a "fever" and once that breaks...the engine is as "broke in" as it's ever going to be. I think companies come up with this stuff just so they can blame you for not following some BS prolonged procedure and get out of warranty work. The lump doesn't care. Unless you drop the hammer early on there's a good chance it'll burn oil later in life...but to each their own!
This was all information provided to me from my local dealer. Remember not all Merc instructions will be the same but as a general rule of thumb these tips should help break in a newer Merc 4 stroke.
Dj first off thank you for your comments. I picked this boat up at my local Bass Pro, Tracker service center in Auburn Hills Michigan. They provided a detailed Mercury break in procedure for this motor, which I followed and filmed this video based on. Based on your comments I googled Mercury manual to review what you possibly could be seeing. Many Mercury manuals come up, and reviewing them they may differ slightly based on the model. Again this is a guide on what to do for a break in, but as I mentioned everyone should check their manuals for their specific engine model if there are differences. Thanks again, Tight lines to you sir.
You break in a new motor recently? Comment below what brand and model of motor you broke in.
What's the top speed with the 200 on that boat?
@@vivalosdoors just shy of 52 mph
Lund walleye
❤❤❤ Best explanations I’ve found and I’ve watched dozens! Thanks

Nice video man! Had to do this with my dads boat when he got a new motor on it. Lot of self control involved to not give it a full send right away!

Fishhook Terry you got it! Gotta support a fellow Michigan angler!
I just got the new 150 mercury pro-xs and I’m guessing this is probably my procedure as well

Congrats on the nice Tracker. How much did you pay for this boat?
Thanks for the video!
Love the content man!
Jesse Angerer you absolutely rock, thank you!

I’m glad someone like yourself with all the years of knowledge commented on my video, thank you. You know the truth, thanks again for watching!!
.... Congratulations to BRP...
I thought they did that before they ship the boat .that's why you have to pay a high butt prep fee and other fees they add on at the end ..
speedometer not working?
Where you get this information?

What's the top speed???
vivalosdoors hey there, so far I’ve got her just shy of 52mph. Gets this big boat MOVING!
V-6 not V-8
4.6L V8 not a V-6. It's a Pro XS.
Break in the motor🤦♂️
You obviously don’t know how to break a motor in. Read your manual.
+Dj good thing I followed the instructions from Mercury when I made this video
Funny cause manual says vary rpm between 4500 and 3500 and every 10 min full throttle for 1 min. Do that for 2 hours.
