- Solomon Islands U17 were defeated by Belarus U17 on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw in Minsk, Belarus. Solomon Islands took the lead in the 60th minute through a well-taken goal by Raphael Lea'i. Belarus pressed and equalized in the 74th minute through a penalty. After full-time, the game went straight to penalties where Belarus won 4-1.

Man how the crowd was laughing at us when our players took the penalties and our keepers saveable shots that was let in. Yet when we verse these teams in our country we have to give them respect and all that. These countries have no respect for us even though they are previliged to train in world class facilities in contrast to our boys training on muddy pitches at home. My point is we shouldnt be looking up to these westernized nations when they come to our country, boo them make them feel uncomfortable as they dont diserve the respect we give them from the preconceived glorified perception we ourselves place on them. But well done boys you have done us proud, they may laugh at us but they considering their level of training, their facilities, their access to worldclass coaches they only managed to equalise through a penalty. On we march🇸🇧

@Richard Vatia : Forget about the crowd - you guys were the equal of the Belarus team in regular time. But I agree that you and your supporters should make opposition teams feel as uncomfortable as possible when they come to your country - that's what 'home advantage' is. I hope you learned a lot from the tournament.

The problem we have here....during the elimination to the world cup their is a combination of coach help to bring the result. However, when we approaching the WORLD Cup their is a big difference Solomon Islands football federation did not learn from....That is to find a tactical manager with the team to help the boys during their preparation...that is the reason Solomon left with unsatisfactory mission...
That penalty wasn't a penalty. His arm was tucked in at his chest not away from his body plus proximity. Bad call
