This not only the best BMW r1250r video but it’s also guilty of the best layout of a motorcycle video. Let me explain, absolutely all moto vids are dudes that can’t believe they got a bike to review that they jump on it and the whole dam video is them riding and taking with just a 1/2 minute glimpse of the bike detail. My man thank you very much, and keep it up.
Natural successor to the much missed K1300R. I am riding a 2007 K1200s at the moment and it is still; sublimely good. Rode one of these too and loved it.
The reason it's got gold forks is because it has got dynamic ESA. If you opt for standard suspension, as I did, your forks are silver. Looks far better in my opinion. As for tyres, mine came with Metzeler Roadtec Z8s, I changed them after 1000 miles for Roadtec 01se. Much better tyres, improved the handling quite a bit. Seat height was a little tall for me as I only have a 29" inside leg so I installed the optional 790mm seat. Again much better for me. Other than that the bike is awesome, puts a huge grin on my face every time I ride it.
Superb video, got the same bike, know Letchworth well. It is the fastest accelerating of the 1250s (less weight). I actually find the torque is so big I really need not to drop gear. Acceleration is not much different in lower gears. I am getting routinely 65 mpg, and that is based on tank fills.
The Shift-Cam does not, in fact, come with all boxer engines…the R9T line doesn’t have it. The R1250R is a fantastic bike. I’ve owned mine for two years, and it’s the best bike, by a large margin, that I’ve ever owned.
I like the bike and especially the boxer engine appeals to me, however like you I dislike the headlight, it’s hideous as is the oversized exhaust. My current bike is the 850GS so hanging on to it for now.
I have test ridden this bike, I think you need wind screen for such a powerful bike to make it an effective mile munching expressway weapon, otherwise it is only suited for the slower lanes. This bike is great for pottering around B road, urban streets and twisties.
Absolute bollocks. Toured around Europe for 18 days with full luggage and a little screen, motorway, mountain lanes etc. Stop being a little bitch. You sound like a GS rider 😂
Lovely coverage. What is SE in this case, this trim is not avlbl in 🇨🇦I would buy the superduke R evo or the GT over this bike. I think 1250R suffers from inspiring looks and an identity crisis in terms of sales / resale.

How many km/miles you have now? Any particular things to mention? Problems? I rode it and I like it. Can check my video bro.
I prefer it with ESA suspension system
Great review and excellent quality video. Now should I get the GS or R1250 I don’t really ride off-road. Cheers Chris

What an amazing bike the R1250R is-! i would be really interested in what you think?
I like the look of the bike just wish it had better wind protection
There is a little windscreen you can get but it’s not that big. To be honest air flow was quite clean but do get what you mean.
@Tony Brum : try the R1250RS it's the same bike as the R1250R but with wind protection in a sport touring look.
That is the penalty of a naked bike. You either love them, or have a massive fairing at the front which takes away the bikiness.
Get a parka 😊
This bike does need a wind shield, not too big, just a normal one, its comfort improves quite a lot, not expensive at all but 100% reccomendable.
Love the helmet.

This is true. Can check my video of this bike. :)
And me. Got one, and I have had quite a few over the years. Jealous of the GS, but I like naked bikes, as they are errrmm, true bikes.
@@malcolmabram2957 You are right. I think the same.😀
So to sum up - "Not too bad"?😉
I want one

pleased it's not my bike 70mph in second gear. 🥺
Lol, I did let the clutch out slowly and see where the revs went. Still under the line but so would not do that all the time 🙈
Good job. This is a wonderful bike. Rode one. You covered all needed. Keep up.
p.s. Drop by to check my test ride of this bike.
Is BlueEyedBiker ridging behind you and can she hear you talking the whole time?
Lol. Yes we have intercom so we can talk to each other when riding. Just the camera only hears me until I can wire it up differently 🤩

Where is the front windscreen ?
Yeah. Take the bike to a huge water fountain to talk. No construction sites with jack hammers available???
I hate wanting such an ugly duckling so badly!
