That's not dirty, it's actually surprisingly clean and organized.
Yes it is. You missed the "Or are they?" I am guessing? 😉😉
If my dad is still alive, he'd probably not mind retiring in such a neighborhood. Everything is close by and convenient. Maybe have a few Mahjong sessions with some neighbors every now and then, or an outdoor dance session in the evening.
I want to learn Mahjong myself so that when I am older and slowing down I can live in a similar neighborhood and enjoy some sessions myself!
@@sirant to me, Mahjong is kind of like a card came, but with Tiles. can be fun, I know my dad was very competitive in that game.
There are seniors in my complex now who gather everyday to play Mahjong and cards everyday in the shade! They all seem very happy and are having a good time. I sincerely hope my old age is as pleasant.😁
Cleaner than a lot of residential areas in the UK
A LOT cleaner than my old Upper Middle class neighborhood in Canada too. I
When China was doing urban planning in the past, they did not realize that China could develop to the extent it is today. Therefore, there is not enough space and parking spaces arranged. So you will see that the roads are very wide in some places and very crowded in other places.
The thing that impressed me most when I walked through places like this when I visited was the sheer "activity". Everybody "doing" something. Made me tired just watching them. Thanks for this "different" video.
Yes! Always something going on, and everyday and different story to see! I am glad you are enjoying the videos!
@@sirant The Chinese culture is such that no one is brought up to think that they have the right to sit around on their bums the whole day drinking and watching movies. 🤣
Ancient streets are fascinating. You find them as well in European cities such as Cordoba, Sevilla, Lisbon, etc.
Ooooh! I would so love to see those ancient streets in Europe! These particular streets are far from ancient though, just older. The city of Shenzhen has only existed for 40-50 years. Prior to that it was a fishing village. The speed of development and progress here is amazing, so it is always neat to find an older community like this! Thank you for your comment!
Very clean and friendly.
Sure is!
I second your love for neighborhoods like these.
This is life, the tourist traps are for cheap scenery.
And crowds of people! The longer I live in a mega city, the more I yearn for the smaller, quieter places!
those type of area are built around the 80s and 90s, it make economic sense to build it that way back then, and it's very rare for someone to own a car.
Yes, even when I came in 2004, the most common mode of transportation for people was bicycles. Now it's mostly cars and e-bikes!
Hahaha i like to explore such alleys too, it's interesting once in a while. And they are there to provide cheap goods and services too.❤
So true!
Amazing how many vehicles are in those tight areas
to get into some of those areas they must have to literally get out of their cars to move e-bikes!
Actually the road in this video is not crowded, if you have been to Bangladesh.
I've not been to Bangladesh but I have seen videos! Luckily it was around lunch time, so many people napping. I am sure it will be MUCH busier when I go back to visit in the evening!
I love these little alleys...so much exploring to do
Yes! I can't wait to go visit some smaller and older cities and towns!
The alleyways in China and many other countries are used as small streets by people to get around the neighborhood. Socializing happens there. You'll find small shops there. These alleyways are actively part of the community. In the US, people avoid walking through alleyways, because that's how you get mugged, so alleyways in the US are basically unused.
Yes, sadly, little alleys like that back home would be treacherous and filled with criminals and drug addicts. I can't wait to go back for an evening visit. I will definitely be making a video!
This is not a normal community, it is a community rented by outsiders who come to Shenzhen to work. This is called a village in the city. Because the rent here is low.
I COMPLETELY Disagree!!! I lived in a community like this for 10 years! It was mostly made of of original residents who bought homes before the large apartment buildings were built. I still visit friends of our family in our old complex from 20 years ago. And several other older neighborhoods as well, and they own their homes, not rent. There of course will be renters as well, but there are renters in the large communities like I live in now as well! This is a perfectly normal community in China!
COCO park is a great place, like all the cities in China
It really is! Though these days, many super fancy and beautiful shopping centers are opening everywhere!
It is clean. …. Out of curiosity , what is the urban strategy of modernisarion. Will they come one day and instead of this neighbourhood build new skyscrapers with landscaping, or for now it is being done on an empty land?
Depends on the area. Here in Longgang, there is still empty areas to build in, but older neighborhoods are also being replaced. A combination of both. In older areas, closer to the city centers, there are no open areas, so older complexes will be replaced!
@@sirant Wonderful . Looking at the speed of the development, I guess many areas will be improved sooner than one would think.
Absolutely! Even my mother-in-law's small village has 5g, high-speed internet and excellent public services! Sadly there are still areas in Canada without internet, cell service or even clean water...
I dont know but all I see is like cyberpunk screen...amazing!!
Love it! Cyberpunk All The Way!
Every window has prison bars
Security bars actually. Very common in older communities from when China was a poorer country and theft was more of a problem. Newer buildings no longer have those bars, nor do the need them.
Old towns and cities are naturally more grimmy looking. Ever been to European cities and old towns?
I have not been to Europe and I think you may have missed the point that I LOVE the older style and feel of these communities.
These amount of gstbage on some streets are a lot less than in NYC!
If you watch any of my other videos, you will see how clean living in China really is. I don't consider this dirty at all and other viewers in the past have not only remarked on how clean it is, but suggested I might be cleaning the neighborhoods I film in just for the videos!
Look at Siuth Detroit or South Chicago.
Haven't been there, but seen videos. Pretty scary!
@@sirant For god’s sake and your personal safety, please don’t go there!
@@user-ok6tf4tl5k True story, 23 years ago was flying to Atlanta, Georgia for a training seminar. When approaching for landing, the pilot welcomed everyone to Atlanta, then LITERALLY warned the passengers there were neighborhoods and areas in Atlanta travelers should NEVER go to! They would be robbed or killed!! Especially at night, but even the daytime was dangerous!
This was 23 years ago!! Based on the UA-cam videos I have seen recently, I would assume it is still the same, or worse. Sad. Truly sad...
@@sirant hahaha, never go to downtown and the south side of Atlanta, period! 😂
I still say those back streets are pretty clean, just crowded with bikes and other stuff.
Yes, they are!
😂🤦😭🥰 almost fool me.
Old poor working class neighborhood. Actually, most important is personal safety. Very impress.
Very strong sense of community as well! I love these older style places!
Ever been to Rome or other European cities?,
Sadly no.
Might have some little problems in sewage treatment.
No nasty smells I could detect! Seemed to be all ok!
用水,用电,污水,网络,都毫无问题。
@@user-cp4wx1fr7h I never found any problems when I lived in an older neighborhood also.
What garbage in the streets ? You look for every soecks?
I don't know what soecks means, but you should watch the whole video, not just react to the title. You will see I am NOT complaining about how dirty it is, because it is not! I love these older neighborhoods and lived in one for 10 years here in China.
US rustbelt Appalachia has 3rd world conditions.
Sorry to hear it. But it doesn't surprise me. Canada is no longer a 1st world country as well, they just don't know it yet.
Its a funny way to get attention. Using nasty title?
Yep, it gets people's attention, did you notice the "Or Are They? part? If people actually watch the video they see my actual opinion.
Let the World know
Doing my best! Thanks for watching!
