sounds like a outro to a horror movie where the main characters think they’ve won against the evil only for it to revive with twice the difficulty and futility from just a pure misunderstanding of it
This sounds like straight up obsession. Gives me strong stalker vibes. Beiung so obsessed with a person you can only think about them and slowly going crazy asking yourself if you can ever be together or will see them again
Lyrics for anyone who needs it: Oh, who is she? A misty memory A haunting face Is she a lost embrace? Am I in love with just a theme? Or is Ayesha just a dream? A mystery Oh, who is she? Oh, who is she? A misty memory A haunting face Is she a lost embrace? I call her name Across an endless plain She'll answer me Wherever she may be Oh, who is she? A misty memory A haunting face Is she a lost embrace? Somewhere across the sea of time A love immortal such as mine Will come to me Eternally Immortal she Return to me
This gives off mysterious gothic vibes to me. A Victorian lord thinking about the beautiful yet elusive ghost that haunts his old property... He’s certain they’ve met before in the past but can’t place where. A melodious voice that he recalls from very vague, blurry childhood memories. A face that haunts his dreams until it drives him to obsession and eventually falling in love with her... even though he can never, ever have her unless he dies himself.
Since everyone is sharing what this song makes them think of, here's mine. I imagine it as a man who lost his wife years ago and is slowly forgetting the time they spent together. He's getting over her, and that realization is making him relapse into his own grief and guilt over letting her go. Even as she becomes a misty memory, he torments himself for letting her slip away from his mind and be forgotten. He doesn't want to heal, he doesn't want to get better. He wants to suffer until he can be with her again, eternally. Just my interpretation though.
This is the music that plays in the club when the bad guy is looking at the main character from across the floor and everything is kind of in slow motion as they just silently watch one another
Oh who is she ? A misty memory A haunting face, Is she a lost embrace ? Am I in love with just a theme ? Or is Ayesha just a dream ? A mystery Oh who is she ? I call her name Across an endless plain She'll answer me Where ever she may be Somewhere across the sea of time A love immortal just like mine Will come to me eternally Immortal she Return to me

My take on it: A man awakens and realises his soul mate also incarnated on earth with him but he's struggling to find her, cant connect with anyone else and therefore feels very lonely and waits to reunite with his soulmate to reignite the divine love he feels inside that he's meant for.
This song makes me think of a soul who keeps being reincarnated and they fall in love with an immortal woman they keep catching glimpses of during several lives, until they can finally be together when the time is right
Neveroddoreven is a massively underrated album - I will never understand why so many people find only one or two tracks engaging. The whole album is incredibly solid.
@@beanosso1800 I would say "agree," but I don't really care for Stobart's Blues too much. Everything else is stellar, though. One of the most well-composed albums out there, and love how well it loops at the end. Thematically, it's pretty consistent while never getting boring. Love it.
Samos sinceros, Mackenzie. No es que sea un album subestimado, a este banda no la conoce ni el loro. Éste es el único tema mas o menos bueno que tienen.
I watched a woman in metallic lingerie dance to this and have never been so entranced in my entire life. I don't think I'll ever forget. I still don't know her name so the song fits even to this day.
This feels like this is something that should be matched up with an Edgar Allan Poe story. A dark tale about a ghost from your memory so engrained into your brain it haunts you until the end of time. The scariest part of it all, you're unsure if this entity comforts you or terrifies you.
Richard Lane I feel like this is really about a succubus. I've heard tales where a man will be enticed by a beautiful and soft spoken woman calling to them sometimes singing a song like a siren and when they come to her call she either turns into a beast or a male entity (incubus?) attacks the person. I've heard that it's a lot like a lovely dream that turns into a haunting nightmare. This song certainly fits that tone.
I imagine a man who was waiting for a girl. The girl told him that she would be there soon, but she never came, not keeping her promise. He waited for years. And many years later, the man grew old and died, finally meeting her.
I am getting serious 'Man who murdered a woman and got away with it, but around the time the event leaves his mind, her ghost haunts him and leads him to his inevitable death as pay back' vibes
this song makes me think of someone who's obsessed with another person. They see said person and start entangling themselves in every aspect they can but they always watch from afar. As they stalk their obsession, they get more insane and entranced. They end up willing to do most everything in order to be with the person.
I know this song is probably supposed to be about a lost romantic love, but I feel it so much about me and my past self. The abstract concept I have of who I once was, how far away it feels, how much its warped over the years. It feels like an endless sea I cannot cross stands between me and that idea. Who they were, who they could have became if things had just been a little bit different, its all been lost to time. No one knows them anymore, and they can never come back. I've irreparable lost something, and I can't fill that gap it leaves behind. As a person who thrives on problem solving and fixing things, it breaks me. A wrenching in my chest. A question I can't answer. A life lived haunted with regret.
Your comment is just what this song makes me feel too. And also the feeling/thought I keep for a long time. It is just like what people become with other people. You mentioned and wrote the main point of that small, tiny changes. Thank you for the embodiment of that thought
I feel this, especially since I am transgender (FTM) and this is how it feels to look back on who I was and everything I went through and yet I still dont know who she was
This gives me main character lost in fog, they see a person standing there and with one last glimpse they disappear in the heavy fog only to be seen a few more times like in crowds, stormy weather or off in the distance

It feels like you've met someone special, with vibes and energies that seem out of this world. You feel so comfortable with that person and one day, he disappears without a trace. And now, the only thing you have left are those memories where you were someone you are not today.
This song makes me think of the longing for love that isolation will cause, whether that be the love of a woman or love of oneself. They hold out hope that somehow, someday, “she” (love) will return to them, even though they haven’t seen it in so long they don’t remember what it looks like.
""Who Is She?" - 3:30 Sample: "The Vengeance of She (Who Is She?)" by Mario Nascimbene from the soundtrack of the 1968 film The Vengeance of She" That's why it sounds so unique.
The music spoke to us in more than words, of a hopeless young man and an eternal deity of revenge and pain, it was a tale of longing and oblivion, a tale if love and indifference, where the lover was not worthy of love, and the beloved had no need for it...
The synth is so violent combined with a haunting voice, feels like a man who fell in love with a woman he saw only once walking down the street, he became so obsessed wanting to know who she is, he became mad. Once they met, he killed her because in the end she was nothing like the woman he thought she was in his mind, she was a copycat, he had to get rid of her.
this gives me vibe about a woman who keeps having dreams about a singular woman who feels close yet distant, the woman is alluring and endearing, kind, and the dreamer falls in love with her, and she gets this desire to know more about her each dream which gets bigger each time. soon, she’s slowly becoming obsessed with the woman, believing that they will be together in the end.
Its giving: a man THOUGHT he murdered a woman, but years later hes in a club/bar and out of the corner of his eye he sees the woman staring daggers into his soul with that tiny evil smirk that just gives you the chills. And the “oh who is she” part is him realizing that its her
This reminds me so much of the manhwa "Ayesha's Secret" even the name of the woman is the same, the vibes from this song just mesh together so well with the overall theme and art of that work, I highly recommend it(beware of the content warnings tho)
OMG SAME !!! I wanted to see if anyone in the comment section knew the manhwa too !! I never fully listened to this song , just heard the « Oh who is she , a misty memory » part and when I heard the name Ayesha in it I just froze , it fits so well with the vibe of the manhwa I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks this song and this story are a match made in heaven
when i saw your comment, i went and started reading that manwha, with this music in the background, it was a nice experience. also artsyle was very nice
this song reminds me of the phantom of the opera. like it’s so aesthetic and sounds like a good song to play while the phantom thinks about christine and his feelings.
There's so many songs by I monster that I love. I heard Daydream in Blue like a decade ago, then discovered their songs "A pod is waiting" then "Heaven" and now this song, recently. I wonder what other great songs that they've made i'd like.
This song is about someone u saw her and never dared to talk with her or for some reason , then in time she just fades but the the first sight of her in ur mind , u never know her just ...... imagine her . ,,,, she was ur first and only one crush , just a memory , she was a chapter in ur ur life at some point
Imagine: A dark masquerade ball. This song begins to play as the world seems as if it’s shifting. Everyone at the ball begins to look at you with dead eyes. The floor begins to flood with blood as hands appear from the floor to pull you down. Everyone in the ballroom has disappeared. You wake up, it was all just a dream.
@@AmbieWolfie rob dougan is a genius. You should really hear the "matrix" songs the way they were meant, with his lyrics. I think his wife was dying of cancer when he wrote those songs.
Listening to this song for long periods of time is quite dangerous for me. It brings me to this lowest feeling of sadness and dread that I can't help but fall into.
There is a book named "she" written by Sir Henry Rider Haggard. In that book there is a immortal queen names Ayesha who is waiting for 2000 years until her long lost lover come to rescue her.
I finally found a song that describes the state that you are always desired everywhere, but you are never the desire itself. Your way is not past your home, your way is not past anyone's home, you are just a memory that ghosts through people's lives, destined to be forgotten. But that is what you seek in other people's lives. You are not the one who other wives or peoplee will be jealous of, you are a memory, you are a voice and a look that is destined to fade into the summer of other people's memories and dissolve among others. They don't bring you songs or ballads about you, but you are thankful for that, chained, you are not remembered for human has found life in the others, and you are eternity. Truly a masterpiece.
I feel like this is based on the 1866 novel, SHE. "She" is Ayesha, a near immortal sorceress waiting for thousands of years for the reincarnation of her true love.
I remember this group when thy first came out and at the time I guess like a lot of people I was young and didn't really appreciate them. I then started to listen to them again and wow thank you for putting this up haunting yet beautiful.
It’s quite cool to know that this song got to mainstream media and got the exposure dean and jarrod def deserve, the neveroddoreven album is great and hope that people would listen the rest of the songs in the album too
It's about a surgeon who dreams of the same women every night. He's convinced she is someone he's met before, that she must live in the dreary city he calls home, somewhere out there. Years pass, and she is always in his dreams where they've lived a thousand lives together. Eventually, when he's old and grey, he's driven mad by the pursuit of someone he can never find, he can never obtain, he can never hold, he starts to see her in every beautiful women he lays his eyes on. He commits horrific murders of women all across the city taking the parts of their bodies he envisions as closely resembling that of the woman in his dreams. He stitches them all together, an amalgam of his victims; and brings the monstrous chimera of flesh to life in a crazed, maniacal, yet brilliant experiment. But as he gazes at the imperfect, hideous thing he was meant to love fear and horror fill his heart, but he cannot look away... Because... Because he remembers now. The women in the dreams, he first met her on the operating table, years gone, when his eyes were bright enough to see her magnificent beauty with total clarity. He couldn't find her because... she was already dead.
[what I imagine with this song] There’s a masquerade ball, one woman catches this man’s attention, she seems dark and mysterious. He stares at her for longer and longer, then they find themselves waltzing, everyone is looking. She leaves him and walks out of the ballroom and he follows her into the long castle walls that twist and turn, until she is no longer in sight. Only a huge painting, of her, with her name. Below the painting is the date she was born on engraved in gold, including the date she passed away. The only thing he could do was stare, now not at the woman but the painting of her.
i actually imagine myself running around in an abandoned castle in a fluffy dress and getting kidnapped by aliens who play this song in their spaceship

this makes me think of a man suffering from memory loss that lost his wife due to a brain tumor, but not remembering her. When she passes away after her funeral he discovers old photos of himself with her and falls in love with her again. He falls in love so hard that he wants to know more about her but cant find anything so questions himself if the she is an hallucination, a lost loved one and even starts questioning himself if he's just dreaming and if he will wake up to his usual routine. He gets so paranoid that he starts actually hallucinating her and needing constant care from a nurse or a loved one that he remembers. After a while he starts remembering a wife, but can't exactly picture her. He starts getting weird thoughts of her being immortal and in another dimension, but starts missing her so every day he would pray that she would come back.
The song's probably about unrequited love, but I can't stop thinking of it as an eldrich concept. Instead being Who is "She". Imagine asking somebody "who is she?" and they respond "a misty memory, a haunting face." You would KNOW something is up. Especially when "she" is discribed as eternal.
this song feels so haunting. I can imagine myself dancing to this all alone until I give out. there's just something sweet but in a hauntingly hopeless way.
I always thought the song was referring to a man that gets obsessed with the ocean ("she" is the ocean in this case), leaves his family and wife behind to get on a ship, and at 2:00 gets rampaged by sea storms, and afterwards reminisces on his past life before dying.

this gives me vibe about a woman who keeps having dreams about a singular woman who feels close yet distant, the woman is alluring and endearing, kind, and the dreamer falls in love with her, and she gets this desire to know more about her each dream which gets bigger each time. soon, she’s slowly becoming obsessed with the woman, believing that they will be together in the end.

I never fully listened to this song , just heard the « Oh who is she , a misty memory » part and when I heard the name Ayesha in it I just froze , it fits so well with the vibe of the manhwa

Imagine:
A dark masquerade ball. This song begins to play as the world seems as if it’s shifting. Everyone at the ball begins to look at you with dead eyes. The floor begins to flood with blood as hands appear from the floor to pull you down. Everyone in the ballroom has disappeared.
You wake up, it was all just a dream.
This is shit and dream endings are shit
"Am I in love with just a theme?"
It was all just a dream… But tonight is ball night, and wearing a mask is mandatory…so u know

sounds like something from an experimental james bond-like spy movie
So true, the way it sounds does sound like it belongs in a spy movie.
N1GHTPAUL The movie they sampled it from is called The Vengeance of She
It sounds like the Adele intro from Skyfall, good call! Just a raunchier version.
N1GHTPAUL like the overly stylelized openings to one of the new films
Also sounds like "the world is not enough", by Garbage
the tune reminds me of the phantom of the opera
Yep!! I heard that! It's the three descending notes that keep cropping up throughout the song! :D
Also reminds me of the Matrix at some points!

Yeah this is it. Pay attention to how horrible and sad the lyrics are. Awesome stuff.
The 1933 version is the best
The Vengeance of She (Who is She?) by Mario Nascimbene, from the 1968 film The Vengeance of She.
This song is great apart from that bit in the middle where my ears exploded (I had earphones).

This song deserves a lot more recognition! It feels like pure extasy and madness merged together.
this sounds as if it should be in american horror story

"Somewhere across the sea of time" | The sea of time.
this song deserves more love then it already gets

What is the name of the movie?
[what I imagine with this song]
There’s a masquerade ball, one woman catches this man’s attention, she seems dark and mysterious.
Oh, that's super dope!

this makes me think of a man suffering from memory loss that lost his wife due to a brain tumor, but not remembering her.
Omg that’s gonna make me cryyy

The song's probably about unrequited love, but I can't stop thinking of it as an eldrich concept. Instead being Who is "She".
Imagine asking somebody "who is she?" and they respond "a misty memory, a haunting face." You would KNOW something is up. Especially when "she" is discribed as eternal.
this song feels so haunting. I can imagine myself dancing to this all alone until I give out. there's just something sweet but in a hauntingly hopeless way.
I always thought the song was referring to a man that gets obsessed with the ocean ("she" is the ocean in this case), leaves his family and wife behind to get on a ship, and at 2:00 gets rampaged by sea storms, and afterwards reminisces on his past life before dying.
this album needs more recognition
