Hey Everyone, It's Gal in 2021 :) As Philippe Perrin pointed out in a comment below (thank you by the way!) make sure the Clone Stamp Tool brush has a hardness of 100%. In the video I made a mistake and it was set at 26% hardness which causes some blur on the image taking away the original res. So be sure to set that hardness to 100% and then the result will be even better.

I associate the Fedora with Aspergers, but you seem to have an appreciation for 1940s style of dressing.
I want to thank you for your video, but I'd like to point out that any repair work that you do should be about preserving everything that's already okay.
A smaller stamp tool brush, the healing tool... both these things should be used rather than cutting entire sections to copy and paste. While it saves time, it's not taking care to preserve.

I've used an AI program to enhance the image to higher image of 4K (im still new to the program) and its actually given one of the guys on the horse a face. But I have over exposed parts so they wouldn't colour in..so now I know what to look out for. Big thanks!

Congratulations on your work. I also worked on a photo of her mother on her wedding day. But ... I think the one who made the picture made a mistake and reversed the negative. I say this because the wedding ring is on your grandfather's right hand, as well as the watch, and the jacket's lair is closed from right to left like women. From these three considerations, I think your grandfather looked to the right, not to the left, and you should make that change. With all due respect, I sign, Constantin Zamfirescu, Bucharest, Romania

your tutorials are some of the best I've seen. You keep a great pace, show close-ups of the tools as you use them, speak slowly and clearly, explain everything you do and why - five stars all the way around. Thank you so much!! I'm now subscribed to your channel.

Hello, I really enjoyed your tutorial, easy to follow and you dont take for granted that i might be an amatuer, which i am. I was with you until you started with changing the mask to black. First off my computer wouldnt do it. It is a mac. I tried to do it manually by going into mask options or also clicking on the white mask and even though it would allow me to change it to black, it wouldnt change the mask colour to black. Help me please! Its CS4

I liked it until you painted the Tuxedo black, it looks obviously painted and I think it looked better and more natural prior too. Maybe just turn the contrast lower/higher on it to make it darker?

Of course there are different ways to do things. Nowadays I could use content aware fill, spot heal and color replacement tool. For this background I would make a path around the person and the chair and either replace the background with a nice gradient or make this gradient blend with the background. As for colors i would do some research on internet to find colors that would match. But before i would do anything I would make a guide to align (rotate) the photo. Usually I would make the eyes align horizontal. And before making a path I will temporary turn up the contrast to see the edges better. Hair is always a problem, so fix that in the end.

Not making premier vids anymore? : (
I have a problem? My project area... all my project files... after i made an adjustment layer and added it to timeline... i can't see my project files in the project area anymore...
I have the project tab selected, but the little box below, is empty... just the words 'Import Media to start', like when you first begin a project....
    What gives? Anyone? Please Help!

That is incredible! What about pictures that you don't know what they looked like in color? What would you do in that instance? Amazing job you did with your grandfather's picture :)

Photoshop Elements will do just about everything a photographer needs. The spot healing brush is handy too. I use it all the time to remove power lines. I have fixed pictures worse than this one

Thank you for this interesting and educational video. The process is nonetheless to be emulated with other software in the market because the excessive commercial conditions of Photoshop CC for the occasional use that most subscribers who watch these videos do. I do not think this product will survive for a long time by the only subscription of professional photographers or amateurs very informed !

Quick tip to change hardness and size of your brush... Hold control and option then drag your brush up or down to change the hardness/softness and drag left or right to change the size of your brush.
